CDW “SysAdmin Day Sweepstakes” Terms & Conditions

OFFICIAL RULES

This Sweepstakes is void outside the 50 United States, District of Columbia, Canada, and where prohibited, taxed or restricted by law. Do not proceed to enter if you are not at least 18 years of age and a legal resident of, and located within, one of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, or Canada at the time of entry.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

The CDW “SysAdmin Day Sweepstakes” sponsored by CDW LLC (“Sponsor”) begins at 12:01 a.m. Central Time ("CT") on 7/24/17 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. CT on 8/14/17 (“Promotion Period”).

ENTRY: Enter at CDW.com/SysAdminDay by sharing your quiz results to your owned social media channel (Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn) during the Promotion Period. Entrants will be required to provide their email address in addition to sharing on social media.

The Sweepstakes will take place from 12:01 a.m. CT, 7/24/17 to 11:59:59 p.m. CT on 8/14/17. 

LIMIT: Participants may share quiz results more than once, but only one entry via social share will be valid for the sweepstakes during the Promotion Period, for a total limit of one (1) entries per person/email address. No group entries. Any attempt by any person to obtain more than the stated number of entries through use of multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations, logins, or any other methods may result in disqualification by Sponsor, in its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to void all entries made through any third-party website or service, or through any robotic, automatic, mechanical, programmed or similar entry duplication method, and to disqualify any individual using such a website/service or entry method, as applicable. Proof of submission of an entry does not constitute proof of receipt of entry by Sponsor.

By participating in the Sweepstakes, each participant unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. In the event of a dispute regarding an entry, the entry will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email account associated with the entry. The “authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, require any potential prizewinner to provide proof that s/he is the authorized account holder. All entries become the sole and exclusive property of Sponsor and receipt of entries will not be acknowledged. Proof of submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor.

ELIGIBILITY: Legal residents of the 50 United States, Canada and the District of Columbia, 18 years of age or older, at time of entry are eligible to enter, except employees, officers and directors of Sponsor, and of any other organizations affiliated with the sponsorship, fulfillment, administration, prize support, advertisement or promotion of the Sweepstakes and/or their respective agents, parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries and members of the immediate families of such employees, officers, or directors. “Immediate family members” shall mean spouse, biological, adoptive or stepparents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, siblings, and each of their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside. “Household members” shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months a year, whether related or not. In addition to the above, employees of federal, state and local governmental entities are not eligible to participate or win a prize in this Sweepstakes.

WINNER SELECTION AND PRIZES: On or around 8/14/17, Sponsor will randomly select three winners based on all eligible entries received throughout the entire Promotion Period to award the following prizes:

• One (1) HP EliteBook x360 1030. Approximate retail value (“ARV”): $1,526.99
• One (1) Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga. ARV: $1,791.99
• One (1) Logitech MX Master. ARV: $84.99

The total ARV of all prizes in this Sweepstakes: $3,403.97. Prizes are subject to change based on availability at time of fulfillment.

The specific prize awarded per winner will be determined at random. All features of the prizes will be determined solely by Sponsor. Odds of winning a prize depend upon the number of eligible entries received.

Each potential winner will be notified by the email address provided at entry on or about 8/28/17. Each potential winner is subject to verification of eligibility (including proof of identity) and compliance with all terms and conditions set forth in these Official Rules as a condition of receiving a prize. Each winner may, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (where permitted by law) within ten (10) days of issuance of documents. The prizes consist only of the items described above. Any other related expenses and costs (if any) not expressly listed above as being included with a prize are solely the responsibility of the prizewinner.

Prizes are non-transferable and may not be offered for sale or at auction. No prize substitutions or cash redemptions are allowed, in whole or in part, except as provided herein. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) of equal or greater value if an advertised prize (or portion thereof) becomes unavailable.

Each winner will be responsible for payment of all federal, state and local income taxes on his/her prize. Any difference between the stated ARV and the actual value of a prize, if any, will not be awarded. All prizes will be awarded provided they are claimed properly in accordance with these Official Rules. Prizes will be shipped approximately thirty (30) days from date of winner verification.

Sponsor makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the prizes. The only applicable warranties provided with the prizes are those warranties which may be provided by the manufacturers. If any prize is defective at time of delivery to winner, winner’s sole remedy will be to address the issue with the manufacturer for return, repair, replacement, refund, or other such remedy as winner and manufacturer may agree upon.

By accepting a prize, each winner consents to Sponsor’s use of his/her name, address (city/state), voice, statements, photograph, taped or film image, and/or other likeness for advertising, promotion, public relations or trade purposes in commerce and in any media worldwide without limitation or additional compensation or notice, unless prohibited by law.

If any prize is not claimed in accordance with these Official Rules, or if any prize notification is returned as undeliverable, or if any winner refuses or fails to claim or accept his/her prize in accordance with these Official Rules, or if any potential winner is deemed ineligible for any reason, the corresponding prize will be forfeited. If a prize is forfeited, it will be awarded to an alternate winner in a random drawing from among the remaining entries.

The awarding of any prize is contingent upon full compliance with these Official Rules. Entrants understand that Sponsor is not liable for injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising from participation in this promotion and acceptance, possession, and use of prize. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the sweepstakes or in the announcement of the prize. Decisions of Sponsor are final and binding in all respects.

PRIVACY: By entering the Sweepstakes, you consent to use of your personal information (including your name, mailing address, and email address) by Sponsor and its authorized agents in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy statement and for the purposes of administering the Sweepstakes and fulfilling the prizes. DISPUTE RESOLUTION: Except where prohibited, by participating Sweepstakes entrants agree that: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of participant(s) and Sponsor and its agents, shall be governed by and construed exclusively in accordance with the laws of Lake County, Illinois without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law of any jurisdiction. Entrant agrees that any action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to this Sweepstakes, or awarding of any prize, shall be filed only in the state or federal courts located in the State of Illinois and entrant hereby consents and submits to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such action. Except where prohibited, by participating in this Sweepstakes, entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes, or awarding of the prize, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: IN NO EVENT WILL THE RELEASED ENTITIES (AS DEFINED BELOW) BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF ACCESS TO AND USE OF THE SITE AND/OR THE SWEEPSTAKES, DOWNLOADING FROM/OR PRINTING MATERIAL DOWNLOADED FROM ANY WEBSITES ASSOCIATED WITH THE SWEEPSTAKES. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

LIABILITY DISCLAIMERS: The Sponsor is not responsible for: (i) electronic transmissions or entries that are lost, late, stolen, incomplete, illegible, damaged, garbled, destroyed, misdirected or not received by Sponsor or its agents for any reason; (ii) any problems or technical malfunctions, errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, delays in operation or transmission, communication failures or human error that may occur in the transmission, receipt or processing of entries, or for destruction of or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; (iii) failed or unavailable hardware, network or software transmissions, damage to participants’ or any person’s computer or wireless device and/or its contents, or causes beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control that jeopardize the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes; (iv) any entries submitted in a manner that is not expressly allowed under these Official Rules; all such entries will be disqualified; (v) incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by participants or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes; (vi) any typographical or other error in any printing or advertising related to the Sweepstakes, in the administration or execution of the Sweepstakes, or in the announcement of the winners; or (vii) cheating or fraud by any participant. All incomplete or non-conforming entries will be disqualified.

By participating in this Sweepstakes, each participant agrees to indemnify, release, defend and hold harmless the Sponsor, its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries and agents, and the officers, directors, and employees of each of the foregoing (the “Released Entities”), from and against any and all liability for injuries, losses, or damages of any kind to persons or property arising from or in connection with participation in the Sweepstakes or the acceptance, possession and/or use/misuse of a prize (if awarded to him/her) or participation in any Sweepstakes-related activity and for any claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery.

TAMPERING/EARLY TERMINATION: If for any reason this Sweepstakes cannot be executed as planned, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, changes in social media policies, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor that corrupt or affect the security, administration, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, or if this Sweepstakes is compromised or becomes corrupted in any way, electronically or otherwise, Sponsor reserves the right to terminate this Sweepstakes. If this Sweepstakes is terminated before the original end date of the Promotion Period, the Sponsor will select the winners in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received as of the termination time and date. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and prosecute any individual who tampers with or attempts to tamper with the entry process or any aspect of this Sweepstakes. Sponsor may prohibit a participant from participating in the Sweepstakes or winning a prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines that said participant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes by cheating, hacking, deception or other unfair practices, or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other participants or Sponsor representatives.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY PERSON TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR OTHERWISE CORRUPT OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY, PROSECUTE AND SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

GENERAL: The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Official Rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any Sweepstakes-related materials and the terms and conditions of these Official Rules, these Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control.

WINNERS LIST: Winners will be announced via a post on the CDW Twitter account two weeks following the last day of the promotion period. To request a copy of the Winners List by postal mail, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: “RE: SysAdmin Day Sweepstakes, Stacy Goebel, 1616 Green Bay Road, North Chicago, IL, 60064.” Requests must be received by 9/28/17.
