Very weak terrible design
I have gone through two of these cords so far in less than two years, and I am not rough on them at all. The cord design is very poor, and the connection is prone to breaking at the metal sheath or the thin plastic of the DC port itself. Was told that since my laptop didn't have accident coverage, the one year manufacturer warranty didn't count. My previous laptop (another Inspiron 15) had a good, robust design, but it seems Dell has been cheaping out.

Not for Inspiron 7000 Series
I just purchased an Inspiron 15 7000 Series Ultrabook (7537) and I was looking for a second power adapter for the laptop to keep at home. This is a "recommended" accessory for said laptop and the Inspiron 7000 7537 is listed as being supported in the compatible accessories but this is not true.The physical barrel connector on the power adapter does not fit in the laptop - it is too small.
A call with support solved the issue easily and I was provided overnight shipping of a power adapter that would work with the Inspiron (part no. 332-1833) and even though it was almost $20 more than this one I was not charged.
I usually deal with Dell on the business side of things but I have no complaints with this support call on the consumer side this time around. Good to see the consumer side getting better support.

Disappointed Dell's compatibility charts are hopelessly inacurate but it you have a XPS12 or Inpiron 11 3000 it works great with Dell part 331-9319 dongle.

The power tip is too big for the laptop. Best to ignore the compatible list section when buying this adapter.

This product worked well with my laptop but the adapter section that connected to the laptop started coming apart within two months of purchase. While we put it back together several times, eventually the wires inside broke and the adapter would no longer charge the computer. Sadly this is considered normal wear and tear and is not covered under warranty. In total the adapter lasted less than 6 months.

Do not trust the Compatibility Tab which indicates the said compatible laptop models from Dell.
It indicates the Inspiron 14 3451 for example ; it is untrue, this adapter does not fit into this laptop, i ordered it and now i have to wait for my refund

This didn’t fit my computer even though the sales associate on the site said it would. Boo. I had to go to the trouble to return it. I have no idea why it’s so hard to get the right adaptor but it is. I’ll never buy a Dell again because of this.

Doesn’t charge the laptop model it’s supposed to.
Looked up online which charger we needed for our laptop as the original one quit working. According to the Dell website this was the correct charger. However, it does not charge our laptop. So it’s useless to us.

Disappointed. I went online to purchase an adapter for my dated Inspiron based on the site's recommendations, but the computer tells me it doesn't recognize the adapter. That it's incorrect. I can turn it on, but the battery indicator on the front of the unit still blinks orange (or red). I have to press F1 to continue.

Quick order and shipping process BUT a redesign may be needed to avoid the root issue.
The ones that I had, the black plastic casing on the plug end started to pull back and the exposed wires started to fray. I order a few and the order came quickly. Redesigning it so that the issue doesn't happen would be great because these are cheap.

The Dell website displays completely incorrect/inaccurate information regarding the listing of Dell laptops that this adapter is compatible with. That is also the case for other adapters and many other accessories listed for purchase on the Dell website. It should be a simple process to find and purchase compatible products for my Dell laptop, but unfortunately, the product compatibility listings are completely useless.

Purchased to replace a non-Dell charging unit, I was gratified to learn that it worked with two of my old Dell laptops. It's a nice design, with the cord conveniently wrapping around the body of the charger. It makes for a compact item to carry with the laptop.
