Rated 5 out of 5 by Susan CPA from Terrible Scanner and software I previously had a HP Scanjet Pro 3000 S2 for 4+ years and loved it so when it finally died I purchased a Scanjet Pro 5000 S4. On the old 3000 S2 I used the HP Easy Scan software and was very happy with it. Unfortunately, HP Easy Scan is no longer available and the new scanner came with HP Scan software that is terrible. It does not have the ability to adjust the size of all the thumbnails while you are previewing the images before saving. They are really small and hard to see without clicking on and enlarging one at a time, which wastes a ridiculous amount of time. You actually need to preview them because the software is so bad that even though I have it set to auto it is saving half the images upside down even thought they were fed into the machine right side up. I called HP Tech Support to see if there was an alternative, and after being transferred to several different people who were obviously in a foreign country they told me I would be charged for any assistance. I was desperate to get the issue straightened out and agreed to pay the fee, at which point they disconnected me. I am a CPA and depend on this machine heavily to scan client documents and it has cost me untold wasted hours this tax season. Total waster of $800. As soon as Oct 15th is past I will be chucking it into the trash and purchasing a different scanner and will never buy anything with the HP brand again. Terrible product, terrible software, and terrible customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WGAsheville from DO not buy HP ScanJet EnterpriseFlow 5000, Buyer beware This scanner is terrible. DO NOT BUY!!! Fuji SnapScan is a 100,000 times a better product. Scanner crashes repeatedly. Jams super easily. The Scan software is very non user friendly and time consuming. I have lost so much time trying to use this product. Its absolute junk. HP support is non existent unless you pay for some bogus monthly subscription, what?! I have used HP printers for 20 years but i am appalled by this product. Going to try to send it back, ASAP.
