The IBM PCIe 3 I/O Enclosure ensures a smooth and reliable connectivity between the processor complex and adapters. It makes use of the PCIe interfaces to interconnect the I/O adapters to the processor node. The enclosure improves the sequential read/write throughput and the I/O operations per second. It supports a maximum of two HPFE Gen 2 adapter cards.
