I'll be returning this and reorder. The challenge of not being able to verify part number online or via phone with sales support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TrackPoint Caps exactly as ship with 7th Gen X1 These replacement caps are of the exact same size and type as those shipping with new Carbon X1 7th Generation models. It is shorter than those shipping with the 6th Generation Carbon X1 models, but they work fine with these 2mm knob versions. Work as expected. Due to shipping issues, it took about two weeks to get them to me, but they finally arrived.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works better than the original This is for a Thinkpad X1 Yoga 4th gen. When I received the cap, I thought it was the wrong one because when comparing it side by side with the original, it looks smaller, so I was going to return it. However, I decided to try it and it works significantly better than the original. It's much easier to move the pointer with the new cap. I don't know if the cap was redesigned or if this cap is for a different model, but I think that the smaller size gave more room for the cap to move in the restricted space. More importantly, so far, I haven't experienced the super annoying pointer drift that used to happen several times a day with the original cap, where the pointer would move on its own sometimes all the way to the border of the screen. I attached a photo with the original on the left and this cap on the right so you can see that this cap is smaller.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fit and work, but too low for my liking I gave it four stars predominately because it works, which is good. Unfortunately 3.0 mm is a little too low for my preference, and are lower than my previous replacement set. I typed in "Trackpoint X1 Carbon Thinkpad Lenovo" as my search which is what I own. The taller ones did not match with my search results, they said they went to a different laptop, so I thought to be safe, I chose the 3.0 mm given the search results. But they are too low for my liking.

I do think that Lenovo should just include a package of these with every new laptop that requires them at no additional cost (possibly raising cost of new computer by whatever the Lenovo cost is to make these with a small profit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caps that kinda fit. It's impossible to find accurate replacement part#s on the website or via the chat. Our best guess was the 3.0 mm for the E14 Gen 2. Wrong, I just got them. It was the 4.0 mm but these will do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caps are perfect for ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 These TrackPoint caps are a perfect replacement for the ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 cap, and they are very high quality. The construction is slightly different from those required for many other TrackPoint keyboards, so they are not universally interchangeable. I now have a good supply of replacement caps, and I know the correct part number (4XH0X88960 if I need more in the future.

I ordered these on 1/30 and it took a month and a half to ship them out with no update or concern about the delay. If I did not already own Thinkpads, I would have considered anything but Lenovo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from There is a Difference Between OEM and Replicas! I am a 20+ year ThinkPad user and have owned over 50 machines. I have had to replace a number of my trackpoint caps. I can tell you that there is a huge difference between the inexpensive, cheap replicas and the "real thing." The quality, the construction, and even the texture of the genuine, OEM Lenovo trackpoint is noticeable. For a modest investment I always want my ThinkPads to be at the top of their game. This product is sensational and fortunately Lenovo offers these replacement caps. Don't be tempted by the low-budget fakes on eBay and elsewhere. I have tried and tested them. There IS a difference!

These 3.0 mm caps are the right size at a reasonable price and quantity. With all of the supply chain shortages these days, it's good to have some spares on hand!

I initially purchased some from a third party off eBay - they fit on okay, but it was very hard to move the mouse. Then I ordered these directly from Lenovo and they fit perfect and work great!

The one I had been using had not been changed in years, and it was a relief to get so many replacements in a timely way and very fair price. The new caps are actually slightly shorter than the original, but it was simple to fit one on, and the traction it provides is more than adequate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Treat yourself ! Treat yourself to a new TrackPoint ! You'll be surprised how much better touch you'll get by replacing the old crusty one. This package of 10 will allow you to share a few with friends. Just be aware: older ThinkPads use a similar looking Track point but with a larger "socket" on the bottom. These are the replacement TrackPoints with the smaller socket used on newer Thinkpads.
