Know your gear
The PortServer II high performance communications server allows you to connect clusters of high-speed serial ports to any TCP/IP Ethernet network. It supports asynchronous terminals, modems, printers and other serial devices
The PortServer® is a solution for console management of servers, routers, hubs, as well as serial ports on the LAN for POS/Retail, Data Collection, Process control, remote access, terminals, printers and modems. The serial ports are accessible through telnet, reverse telnet, socket services, rlogin, alternate IP Addresses and also through a COM or TTY by installing the optional RealPort driver.
The PortServer II high performance communications server includes all of the features of the PortServer plus expandability from 16 to 64 ports, as well as extensive network management and security features. In addition, the PortServer II supports dial-up and LAN-to-LAN connections for TCP/IP remote access to your corporate LAN or the Internet over Frame Relay and analog lines. The PortServer II is available in both desktop and rack mount versions.
The Digi PortServer gives system administrators a new level of control over serial devices through the LAN or WAN. That’s because Digi RealPort® software provides local serial port functionality (Real TTY for UNIX environments) as well as incoming and outgoing Rlogin and Telnet sessions on each port. The Digi RealPort driver provides native COM ports for Microsoft Windows NT and Windows 2000. Plus, Digi provides a tool to configure and monitor serial ports, allowing much greater control of these locally administered, "hardware style" ports.
Features:
Ideal way to remotely manage servers, racks, hubs and any other device with a console port over the LAN
PortServer II delivers 16 to 64 serial ports on a TCP/IP Ethernet network
