What's an E-Account?
E-Accounts make online shopping safe and easy. An E-Account is a profile of information about your account that is stored on our secure servers. It can only be accessed by entering your user name and password. An E-Account makes it easy to place orders because it eliminates the need to re-key your shipping, billing, payment and account information each time you place an order. E-Accounts also enable you to check the status of any order you place with CDW•G (even phone orders), use our Saved Shopping Carts feature.

How do I set up a new E-Account?

How do I update my password, e-mail address and other E-Account information?*****
Click here to update your E-Account. Once there, click the "Update E-Account button," log on to your E-Account and click continue. This screen will display your user name and e-mail address. Click the "Update" button in the upper right hand corner. This will take you to a new screen that will allow you to change your password and/or your e-mail address. When you have made the changes, click "Update" and your information will be changed. To change the e-mail address, you will also need to fill in the password fields. You CAN use your established password.

I have ordered from CDW•G over the phone in the past and know my Customer Number, do I have a password?
A Customer Number does not automatically give you an E-Account and password. If you have only ordered from CDW•G over the phone and have never ordered from CDWG.com or set up an E-Account, you will need to set up an E-Account to check Order Status or use other E-Account utilities.

Why did I receive my password? I didn't order anything.*****
A utility is available on our site for a user to ask for their password if they have forgotten it. If another customer enters your user name by mistake, you'll receive your password via e-mail. Note: This does NOT mean your account security has been violated.

Can you tell me my Customer Number?
You can receive your Customer Number by e-mail. Simply e-mail E-Account@web.cdw.com and include your full name, address, and order/invoice number.

When I attempt to log on to my E-Account, I am prompted back to the log on screen.
This is most likely caused by your browser not being set to receive cookies. You will not be able to log on without accepting a cookie. Check your browser's security settings and enable cookies. If this is not the case, e-mail E-Account@web.cdw.com. For more information about cookies, click here.

When I try to check my Order Status, the link takes me to E-Account.
To protect your privacy, you need to be logged onto your E-Account to check your order status.

Do you accept International Orders?
CDW•G welcomes orders shipping to addresses in the U.S., Canada, possessions and territories of the United States, as well as orders shipping to APO and FPO addresses. International orders or requests for quotes can only be placed by customers that call via voice telephone to +001-847-465-6000. No international orders or order requests will be accepted by facsimile, postal mail, e-mail, or the CDW•G Web site. I am a member of the U.S. military or work for the federal government, and I have an APO or FPO addresses, can I order from your site?
Absolutely. When you enter your account information, type APO or FPO for the city and type the appropriate code AA, AE or AP in the state field. Your phone number should be entered with 011 as the first three digits if you are not within the United States.

How do I call my account manager from overseas?
Dial "001" before the phone number for international calling.

How do I use My Solutions?
Just click the "Add to My Solutions" icon anywhere you see it to place the item on your list. This option is available in all product records and CDW•G Product Compare charts.

If you are logged on to your E-Account, the item will be placed on your list. If you are not logged on or you don't have an E-Account, you will be prompted to do so. If you are adding a CDW•G Compare chart to your My Solutions list, you will be prompted to give your chart a name.

How do I retrieve My Solutions?
To retrieve your My Solutions list, log on and click the My Account link, located in the top navigation bar.

How to I edit My Solutions?
To edit your My Solutions list, retrieve it and click the "EDIT SOLUTIONS" button while on the My Solutions page.

What is QuickCart and how do I use it?
QuickCart allows you bypass our search engine and use CDW•G part numbers to build a shopping cart. Here is how to use it:

1) Find the CDW•G part numbers of the items you want to buy. You can find them next to every product in every CDW•G catalog, magazine ad, or mailing. It is a 5- or 6-digit number preceded by “CDW•G”. You can also locate them in your purchase history, which you can access via our Order Status tool, or on a CDW•G invoice.

If you are a regular CDW•G customer, chances are you already have a list of CDW•G part numbers handy.

2) Click the "View Cart" on the main site navigation.

3) Locate the QuickCart input box.

4) Type the CDW•G part number you want and press the “Enter” key.

5) Repeat as needed.

How do I subscribe/unsubscribe to your print catalogs?
Subscribe or unsubscribe to our print mailing lists by clicking here. You will need the marketing code from a catalog's mailing label.

How do I check the status of my order?
Click here to check the status of your order. You will need to create an E-Account. You will also need your customer number and the order or invoice number. If you don't have all this information, e-mail E-account@web.cdwg.com. Include your full name, address, and order/invoice number.

I can't add items to my shopping cart.
Do you have your browser set to refuse cookies? If so, that is why your shopping cart is reporting that it is empty. Our site uses cookies to keep track of the items in your shopping cart. If cookies are turned off, then the shopping cart feature will not work for you. If this is the case, to successfully purchase a product, set your browser to accept cookies and you will be ready to start shopping. I have my browser set to accept cookies and I still can't add items to my shopping cart.
If you have your browser set to accept cookies, but still cannot add items to your shopping cart, you probably are experiencing a cache problem. In other words, when you attempted to add items to your shopping cart your request did register. However, the screen that was displayed is from the cached memory in your computer. This problem can be solved by clicking the "Refresh" or "Reload" button on the top navigation bar of your browser.

I can't remove items from my shopping cart.
You are probably experiencing a cache problem. When you attempted to remove the item from your shopping, cart your request was registered. Why aren't Florida and Canada residents eligible for some contests?
Restrictive laws in these areas prevent us from offering some promotions in these areas. Contact your individual locality for more information.

What is your return policy?

Why do I need a return merchandise (RMA) number before I ship merchandise back?
To ensure your package will be accepted in our warehouse without any problems. This allows us to make sure your credits and refunds are posted accurately and promptly and to assure that your replacement or exchange items are shipped out correctly and promptly.

Why are certain items not returnable to CDW•G?
Some manufacturers place restrictions on returning their merchandise. CDW•G follows these guidelines to help streamline the level of returns. This helps us to continue providing lower costs to you on all our merchandise. Please keep in mind that we do provide quality in-house repair service for most major manufacturer's products to help in cases where the unit may become inoperable. For those units that we cannot repair in-house, the manufacturers warranty will stand behind the repair or replacement of the unit.

How long does it take for my return to be processed and my replacement/exchange item to be shipped back to me?
We work hard to assure that your return is processed the same day it's received. By following the return instructions that are provided for you, it helps ensure your replacement or exchange orders are shipped out the same day your return is received. Of course, this is providing that particular item is available.

Why do I have to pay to return defective merchandise back to CDW•G?
It is not CDW•G's intent to ship out defective merchandise. We purchased all items "in good faith" from the manufacturer. However, we understand that there may be times when a unit could be produced with a defect. Therefore, CDW•G consumes all shipping fees on replacement, exchange and repair orders. In the event that CDW•G makes a shipping error, we will pay a carrier to come to your location and pick up the returned merchandise.

How do I establish credit terms for my business?
Simply fill out a CDW•G Credit Application. CDW•G offers Net 30 days terms to government agencies, schools and qualified businesses.

Does CDW•G offer credit terms to individuals?
Sorry, we currently do not offer credit terms to individuals.

Do you have a retail location?

What do the different stock indications on your Web site mean?
We've created the following simple guides to help you determine when your order will be available. Items are shipped on a first-come, first-served basis. Most in-stock orders placed before 5 p.m. CT ship the same day. Orders placed after 5 p.m. CT on Friday ship Monday morning. All stock-status indications are approximate and subject to change without notification. Please contact a CDW•G account manager for more details on specific product availability.

Same Day - Available in our warehouse. Usually ships same day if ordered before 5 p.m. CT.
Next Day - Generally ships the next business day. However, it can take up to two days for us to receive this product.
3-5 Days - Usually ships within three business days. However, it can take up to a week for us to receive this product.
5-10 Days - Usually ships within five business days. However, it can take up to two weeks for us to receive this product.
2-4 Weeks - Usually ships within two weeks. However, it can take up to a month for us to receive this product.
Pre-order - This product has recently been added to our system. Orders are fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact a CDW•G account manager for details.

How much do you charge for shipping and handling?

Why was I charged a different shipping charge than I selected?
This can occur if the shipping method you chose was not available to you. If this has occurred, please e-mail us at sales@web.cdw.com and we'll work to rectify your situation.

Does CDW•G ship on weekends?
We do not ship orders on weekends. Orders that have not shipped by Friday at 9 p.m. CT will ship on Monday morning.

How can I find out my UPS or FedEx Tracking Number?
We do not release tracking information for security reasons.

How do I know that my transaction is secure?
We employ the latest 128-bit encryption technology in all areas of the site, which requires you to provide your personal or account information. These include online ordering, order status, catalog requests and most contest forms. This is done to protect you from unauthorized use of the information you are sending to our server. To make sure you have the latest security features on your browser, download and install the latest version of your favorite browser, Microsoft Internet Explorer, or Netscape Communicator.

Is your site secure?
Yes. Your personal information is stored safely behind our firewall. No one at CDW•G, except authorized programmers, can access your password. The areas of our site which require you to provide your personal information include online ordering, order status, catalog request and most contest forms. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a very tiny piece of text Web sites place on your computer's hard drive. You can choose whether or not to receive these files by configuring your browser. Ordering online requires you to accept cookies. On most browsers, the default settings enable you to accept cookies, so if you haven't changed your defaults, you most likely don't have to do anything to ensure that your browser accepts cookies. What if I do not accept the cookie?
If you choose not to accept a cookie you will not be able to purchase any products online, check order status online, or use the Buyers' Alert feature. You can shop online, however, and call in your order without using cookies.

How can I control which cookies I accept?
Your ability to control the cookies you accept depends on the type of browser you are using. If you are using Internet Explorer V3.0, choose View and then Options on your top navigation bar. Once in Options, click the Advanced tab and you will be given the option to check the box titled "Warn before accepting cookies." If you are using Internet Explorer V4.0, choose View and then Internet Options on your top navigation bar. Once in Internet Options, click the Advanced tab and scroll down to the yellow exclamation icon under Security. There you will be given three different options to regulate cookies. If you are using Netscape V3.0, you will need to find the cookie file on your hard drive. Netscape V3.0 groups all cookies into one file on your hard drive. Therefore, to regulate cookies you will need to locate them on your hard drive under the file cookie.txt on Windows Operating Systems or magiccookie on a Macintosh. If you are using Netscape V4.0, choose Edit and then Preferences on your top navigation bar. Once in Preferences, click Advanced located on the tree. This will give you four options to regulate cookies.
