APC Announces Industry’s First “Green” Desktop UPS
APC is pleased to announce the following product(s) for ship release: APC BACK-UPS ES 10 Outlet 750VA 120V Master Control (BE750G)
The new Back-UPS ES 750 VA powers and protects computer systems and their peripherals from power related events. Additionally, it now contains new “green” features designed to reduce wasted electricity. These features include Master/Controlled outlets which will shut power off to computer peripherals like printers, scanners, and speakers when the equipment plugged into the mater outlet is deemed not in use (i.e. asleep). The unit now also has a High Efficiency Design which makes the products between 3 and 5 times more efficient than competitive products. Customers can save up to $40 off of their annual electricity bill!
This product is already award-winning! It was the winner of a CES Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Award.
What else makes them “green?”
oThe new Master/Controlled feature conserves energy by automatically shutting down unused peripherals -- The Master outlet is designed to sense current drawn by connected equipment. When the device plugged in to the Master outlet is powered down or goes into sleep mode, the Master outlet will automatically shut-down the Controlled outlets. (Example: when your computer goes into sleep mode, the unit will shut off the power draw to your printer, speakers, modem, etc.)
oThe Back UPS ES 750 also utilizes the most efficient charging technology, making it up to 500% more efficient than the competition
oA high frequency design was implemented to reduce the amount of copper used in production, making the overall size of the unit smaller.
