Rated 5 out of 5 byOculos from Needs external monitorThe LCD screen is absolutely useless outdoors, you need a high nit daylight viewable monitor if filming outdoors. The mic input allows you to overcome any onboard mic shortcomings, I use a Rode. The audio recording levels are adjustable with an onscreen meter. You can adjust the levels on both the onboard mic or an external mic.It's easy to add a monitor, a mic and a light IF you use the Arca Swiss system. You can mount a long plate, like 140mm or longer, crossways to the camera with the camera at the left end of the plate (so you can swing open the left sided LCD. Now you can add one or several cold shoes to the right end of the plate for your accessories. I put a triple cold shoe V bracket on the right end of my Arca Swiss plate and attach everything to that.I use this camera primarily to film my firework shows and the dedicated fireworks mode works well for that.

It has an external microphone input so it's easy to tie into our audio rack to get a clear recording. The camera's built in mic is okay but not the best in terms of noise rejection in a crowded room. The image is clear & with a 128GB SD card I can record ~8 hours of 1920x1080@60 video at a time! The other great feature of this camera which made it a perfect fit for us is the ability to run the camera & charge the battery at the same time w/the supplied power supply. Shame on Canon for using a proprietary power plug but otherwise it's a great camera!

It fits in my jacket pocket, it’s so light I forget it’s there. The videos come out great, awesome zoom, great sound quality and so much fun with all the filters and special graphics. Love love love it!
