Dell AX510 Sound Bar - speakers - for PC - 313-6412 is rated 3.27 out of 5 by 113.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Comparision to AC511 with USB Returned all four of these bars. They require a special monitor that they can plug into for power, or a power adapter that is sold separately. They also require a line in cord that has to run all the way to the PC. Our "old" AC511 Dell soundbars have a simple USB connection that provides power and signal which is a much more elegant solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The AX510 IS compatible with the U2412M monitor The monitor compatibility chart must be out of date, because it does not list the Dell UltraSharp U2412M monitor as compatible with the AX510 SoundBar. I chatted with Dell support and they could not confirm compatibility and could only confirm the AY511 SoundBar was compatible, however that one is more expensive and requires a separate power supply, while the U2412M already provides a power connector for speakers. I went ahead and ordered the AX510 with the U2412M monitor and the power connector and mounting tabs both fit perfectly, so as far as I can tell these are 100% compatible. The soundbar has a white LED stripe that illuminates down the center, below the monitor's Dell logo, when the speakers are powered on. This is helpful for us to confirm the speakers are on during Skype conferencing, as troubleshooting audio problems can get complicated with many potential points of failure on both sides of the call. When the monitor is powered off, the speakers turn off too. One thing to note is that the U2412M monitor doesn't have an audio connector, the speakers' audio cable must run all the way to the computer's headphone jack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Speakers I enjoy these speakers because they allow me to get rid of the desktop speakers and free up some real estate on my desk. They do exactly what I want them to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AX510 Sound Bar The AX510 did not satisfy my requirements with the Dell U2718Q Monitor that I purchased in the same order. They are not compatible. I do not receive any audio from the AX510. I plan to return the AX510 for a refund and have acquired another (non-Dell) speaker system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sound Bar Is Excellent Excellent sound for the small size; does what it's supposed to do. Blue light could be dimmer/more subtle (this was commented on for the previous version of the product, forever ago--should have addressed it by now). Also, there's static when turned on and off. That may be normal, but I gotta believe it could be lessened some. These are minor quibbles. If you don't have space for 'regular' speakers, this unit will solve your problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more messy wires Perfect! A lot less wires and mess to deal with since it attaches directly to the monitor. Adequate sound quality, at least for my preferences. If you're an audio expert, you may prefer separate speakers. But for me, this is perfect :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Brainer It took more time to open the box than it did to install the speaker to the flat panel screen. Now I can listen to webinars/video clips with sound, without having my head in my lap, trying to hear from the little speaker on the CPU that is located on the floor! Provides more than adequate volume and tone for general business use and for anyone that is not an audiofile nut!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sound Bar I like the ease of hooking up and using the sound bar. The sound is good for everything I do on my computer. It is not the same as having separate speakers but less cluter is nice. So you have to decide what is best for you. I don't like the white light in the center when powered on. I like the small green light on my older sound bar better. A small thing but it is there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty Good sound The price is pretty good and I like having the speakers connected to the monitor. It improves the viewing experience. I frequently have to stop myself from swiveling my wall mounted monitor by grabbing the speakers. I don't think they will survive extended use of this type. The sound range is equivalent to other small desktop speakers with limited bass response. Using them with a sub-woofer MAY improve sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Basic sound bar Ok for being able to hear audio, nothing special. What I did was put this sound bar on my old Dimension 8400. Then I used my surround sound system that originally came with the Dimension 8400 on my new XPS 8400 because I had ordered the new computer with Sound Blaster Recon 3D PCIe and it works well with the new system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Of no value at all I was buying a laptop and the Dell automated system showed me this sound bar and stated that Many Who Buy This Laptop Also Purchase This... I figured that meant the laptop had lousy on-board speakers so I ordered it. It has zero compatibility with laptops. Zero.. Can't even plug it in anywhere since its only power source is a specialized plug. No charrger or adapter included. No way to even attach it to the laptop, as it is meant to attach to a desktop flat screen display. I have asked Dell several times why they recommended this item, and they are silent. Horrible customer service experience. I wil never order anything from Dell ever again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hello, is this thing on? I had a pair of freestanding speakers connected to this system originally but wanted to conserve space so I opted for these speakers. MISTAKE! At full volume my I-Pod (at half volume) had more sound and better quality than these speakers. I am going to remove them, toss them in the trash and reinstall the freestanding speakers again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A simple solution to an annoying problem Decent-to-good (not great, not cinema-quality) sound and easy installation, all at a low price, make this a good choice for many settings. You get stuff off your desk and fewer wires.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Under the bar, under the limit Some might say that ordinary computer speakers take up space on your office desk, which could lead to clutter and interference. With this sound bar, it fits right under the monitor, and it saves space on the desk. Sound is great, just like an ordinary stereo speaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality but costly when you add a power cable Great piece - - but unclear that it didn't come with a power cable. When you add the cost, it no longer is cost effective. But it is convenient with the Dell monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient Location Location under monitor means it's out of the way, not taking desk space, not constantly being knocked over like regular speakers, and not creating more cable clutter. Sound quality is fine for the size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent sound for the size and style Pretty decent little speakers for the size. I like that they hook onto the monitor and don't take up space. Mine get fairly loud--I don't know why some here report that they don't get loud enough. Perhaps their volume on their desktop is set too low? The knob on the side of these is great--easy to adjust the volume quickly. These aren't audiophile speakers but for general use like listening to video on the net or movies they are just fine.I think they are pretty much the same quality as any basic computer speakers--perhaps even a little better. If you want something with the best music quality you would need to get an expensive speaker set with subwoofer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soundbar for U3014 The quality of sound from this device is very poor ... very "tinny." The best I can say is "at least its sound". Will purchase some other external speakers instead. Not worth the money spent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vibration noise > half power; some GSM noise Obviously, these are not audiophile speakers. You're paying for the saved desk space and power outlet, not for any feat of acoustics. I'm using them (AX510) with the U2410 24" LCD and so the bar is much narrower than the monitor, but is a reasonable match for the base of the stand, so still looks reasonable. I was hoping they'd be less susceptible to noise from my GSM-based cell phone than the ancient powered monitor speakers I have been using. They succeed in this only to a degree; you still hear noise when a call is made or comes in. The reduction might be because I had to turn them down because... There is some rattling of the housing when the volume is more than about halfway up (testing with the speaker setup chime tone in Windows 7 Sound CP). This is noticeably worse and more objectionable in tone on the right-hand side (with the volume control) where there is a little plastic loop for the security lock. Pressing that loop against the monitor with my finger removes the additional rattle on that side; I carefully pried that loop away from the monitor and slipped in a small O-ring (left over from an assortment bought in the pluming section of a hardware store) to dampen that out. The indicator light is annoying. My usual remedy for this sort of thing is working fine: place a piece of transparent tape in front, and coat with as many layers of permanent marker as desired to reduce its brightness. I have a stereo with full-range speakers in the same room for listening to music, and when editing audio I use headphones, so my demands/expectations of this product were minimal (system sounds, podcast playback after editing) and have been met.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saves Space The main reason I purchased this sound bar was to save space on the desk. It does that very well as it hangs at the bottom of the monitor. The sound is good enough for a desktop computer. We watch movies with it and haven't had any complaints. Pros: Saves a lot of desk space. It gets its power from the UltraSharp monitor so there is no extra power cord snaking along the desk. The physical volume control is very accessible. Cons: The power light is bright and obnoxious.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sound Quality is not there. I bought these speakers to save on desk space and have less cables. The sound quality from these speakers are about as bad as it gets. It's too bad because they look great on the monitor. I would only buy them if you don't care about the sound and just care about the look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice space saver but bad sound I bought this to save space on my desk for my Ultrasharp monitor. I does the job but I tought for the price I'll get better sound than this. For windows sound it is ok. But for music and movie it is not a good choice. It is good as a 5$ speakers. If you like good quality music don't buy this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install but...... It was so easy to install and it plugs right into the monitor and to computer (NO SEPARATE POWER SUPPLY). The sound is extremely mediocre. I guess I was just used to the 4 speakers and sub woofer I had before but wanted to get rid of all the wires and clear my desk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Space-saver, but Poor Sound Quality I was hoping to clear some room on my desk at work, so I bought the SoundBar along with a monitor I was ordering. I was hoping to replace a pair of Harman Kardon speakers which, although relatively small, were taking up space. The Dell SoundBar installed easily and definitely was a space-saver, but the sound quality is pretty bad, even for a speaker this size. Keep in mind, I listen at work and keep things pretty quiet, so my needs are minimal. This doesn't even meet those. If all you need is a speaker to play the bleeps and bloops of computer software, this is fine. If you're listening to music, though, I can't recommend these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should have bought it years ago! The sound bar is so convenient, I don't know why I waited. When I moved my computer I decided it was time to get rid of some of the wires and electronics sitting on my desk. Threw away my traditional speakers and ordered the sound bar. Delivered within a few days, 3 minutes to hook it up. Love it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sound advice. Bought to pair with the UltraSharp U2312HM and now it's like they're one piece! These updated my UltraSharp 1908FP and the Sound Bar-of-its-day AS501 and it's like I went to the future! Though I was concerned at first, the white LED signifying "on" does not distract at all. The volume output is also much improved and does not require the dial to be at highest. In fact, even at the lowest system volume, I was lowering the volume on every application before I figured this out. Terrific equipment!

I am able to control volume over a much wider range. Am happy with the performance and size

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did not work with U2415. This may not be a fair review of the AX510 sound bar but I used the Dell Chat to ask if the sound bar would work with the U2415 monitor and they assured me it would. The U2415 does not have a power connection for the AX510 and no place to mount it. I did like the 24 in monitor I bought 12 years ago and the sound bar with it and was looking forward to the new sound bar with a new monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review of AX510 Sound Bar After a couple of weeks of use of the AX510 Sound Bar, I find it easy to use and highly compatible with my U3011 monitor. One feature I did have a little trouble with was the loudness control. The soundbar has a knob on the right hand side for power and sound level, however, the sound bar was either underpowered or was not working right as the sound volume level seemed flat throughout no matter how much I turned it. Overall, the sound bar is a good feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Speakers with Clean Integration I love these speakers. I originally purchased a set for my UltraSharp monitor and was impressed how it easily attached to the monitor and tapped off the DC power port on the monitor. I only added one cable to my setup - the 3mm audio jack that runs to the computer. I bought a second unit for a non-Ultrasharp monitor and I had to use the additional power supply cable. A little messier cable-wise but still clicked nicely on the monitor helped eliminate desk clutter. Someday all manufacturers will realize that it makes a lot more sense to integrate speakers into the monitor. If you want home theater sound you could always supplement with a sound system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from null Not the speakers if you do a lot of gaming, music playing, or video watching on your computer. But I wanted to get rid of the clutter on my desk, they do a great job of that since they mount to the bottom of my screen. My computer isn't my main source of music or videos, so the lack of base is acceptable to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this thing. Great space saver, easy install I recvd this with my monitor and just love it. Freed up desk space when I removed speakers. Sounds fine to me because I only seem to listen to attachments that have sound. Don't listen to music thru computer. My voice mails come thru computer and they sound great. Love where the vol control is and how easy it is to turn. I don't know why people are complaining about the blue lite other than they prob complain about everything anyway. It is so far down I don't even see it when looking at the monitor. Would def recommend to everyone. Very easy install (5 min)and I am mechanically challeneged.

I don't see a different between the AX510PA and the AX510 speaker. The only different is that AX510 doesn't ship with the power supply and cost you more. I ordered both AX510PA and AX510 and I compared side by side and didn't see the different. I can also plug in the AX510PA speaker directly to my Ultra monitor without the power supply. For the AX510PA model with the power supply, I have an option to use it with my iPod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly Good! I bought this product just to get some cheap speakers without having to deal with all the wires/desk clutter, but I'm surprised by the sound quality as well. I didn't expect much from a "sound bar" but this really does the trick. First, set up was easy. Slides onto the monitor w/ no problem and there are two cords to plug in(power & audio jack); done. Secondly, there are two headphone jacks on the left side of the bar (now you don't have to get behind your tower) and a power/volume dial on the right side of the bar (convenient, and functions with headphones plugged in too). When you turn the power on a small light in the middle of the bar lights up (kinda cool looking), and despite other reviews I've read, it is neither bright nor annoying by any means. Volume can definitely get to a level considered "too loud". Most Important; sound quality. The sound quality is surprisingly good for such a small little bar. If you are looking for a high-end sound system with a subwoofer that will rattle your neighbors out of bed then this isn't for you (and you should seriously know that). So unless you are going high-end, I would definitely recommend this. It easily competes with the other desktop speakers available at Best Buy, etc. and it's cheap, sleek, and space-saving. Also remember that you can easily plug headphones into the side to pump sound directly into your skull. *** PROS: Cheap, Sleek, Space-Saving, Good Sound Quality CONS: Honestly none. *** Additionally, I don't work for Dell and I am not being paid to write this review. I do own a high-end audio system for my home so I know how good it can get. I shop around a LOT before buying anything, and I recommend that you buy this; you won't be disappointed. I hope this review helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome and simple to use this speaker is great! it fits perfectly into 2 slots right underneath the bottom section of the monitor. you connect the power to the monitor and the speaker RJ connector to your pc and voila! simple and hassle free, and good sound quality too. it's not a BOSE speaker, but it's good enough for games and movie watching.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from annoying blue LED, but otherwise respectable sound The Dell SoundBar was easy to attach to my Dell 2709W LCD monitor. The sound quality is acceptable for a desktop PC. The annoying thing is the relativelyn bright blueish-white light in the dead center of the sound bar (on when the bar has power).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would definitely buy again... In fact this is my second one. I've had one on my monitor and also bought one for my wife when I bought her a new monitor for Christmas. It's very easy to install and provides good sound quality for the money. I think it's more convenient and compact than typical computer speakers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reduced clutter In the office I inherited with my new job there were the old clunky speakers that were constantly getting knocked off the desk onto the floor. The sound bar attached nicely to the monitor just like advertised. The sound isn't reference quality but no one should expect it to be. For online training, webinars and notifications it's perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible sound quality My previous monitor had a soundbar that actually sounded good, so I had no hesitation in ordering a soundbar for my new monitor. Big mistake. The sound is awful. Most sounds seem like they are coming from an echo chamber. Even normal Windows sounds (alerts, etc.) are bad. I've played with all the various options and settings and nothing really fixes the problem. I've got it set to something that I can temporarily live with, but will be either going back to my older monitor and soundbar or getting speakers. Very disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sound bar purchase - well worth it! Easy to install, takes up no room on the desk, works great for my purposes. I'm not asking for tremendous sound, and this is just fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Only attaches to Dell monitors. Only UltraSharps have the built in power supply, most other Dell monitors need the PA version that includes the power supply. If you bought it without the power supply (and needed one, or for a non-Dell monitor, then you need to learn to read the descriptions. Not for high end audio, but great for business audio without clutter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works as advertised Simple to attach and use. Looks good and keeps clutter off the desk. Fidelity perfectly adequate for my purposes. Only problem I had was ordering it - it was not offered as an option for my Vostro system even though the ultrasharp monitor I wanted was an option. The "customize" screens only offered the incompatible version that goes with the non-ultrasharp monitors,i.e., the ordering system pointed out the problem but offered no solution. So I had to separately find and separately order the soundbar from Dell accessories. A nuisance, but ultimately I got what I needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not suitable for music The audio quality of these speakers are suitable for the occasional YouTube, spoken audio, and teleconferencing. However, they are wholly unsuitable for listening to music. They just don't have the fidelity. Pros: - gets speakers off the desk - powered from the display Cons: - low fidelity - not very loud Would be nice: - if is was a USB Audio device, since I have a USB cord running to the display it is attached to. It'd be one less wire to connect to my MacBook every day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dell Stereo Soundbar - AX510 I asked the Dell salesperson I dealt with to recommend a soundbar for the Dell Ultrasharp 32 4K USB-C Monitor -- U3219Q -- I was purchasing. This sound bar will not mount to the monitor -- i.e. it is INCOMPATIBLE. So I had to go to the trouble of packing it up and shipping it back. And I have no soundbar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient space-saver I got this because I don't want a couple of speakers cluttering up my desktop. I don't need HiFi sound from these - for that, I connect to my stereo system. But they sound fine for most computer work - including video clips from U-Tube. The bar is very easy to install and looks good with my 24" monitor. It powers off when the monitor powers off, and the volume control is easy to use. I recommend this product unless you need really powerful sound all the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good little speaker system that doesn't require batteries I needed some speakers that didn't use batteries and didn't take up any additional desk space. Purchased this speaker because it fit my needs and was onsale for less than $22. Obviously, I wasn't looking for a high end speaker system. The item attached directly to my monitor and took no desk space at all. The power connection went to my monitor so there were no additional plugs or power bricks. The audio connection also went to my monitor. My monitor is connected to my system via a DVI cable (the only output available from my video cards). When I first tried the speakers I wasn't getting any sound. I did some checking and it turns out the my DVI cable does not pass sound from the computer (not Dell's fault). I had a headphone connection on the computer and used that instead. The unit worked perfectly...plenty of volume...and I was really surprised by the quality of the sound from such an inexpensive speaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't expect good sound Just got a new U2713HM monitor and, because of the extra real estate the new monitor takes on my desktop figured I'd replace my 10 year-old HK Champagne speakers (which I paid $45 for 10 years ago, so not that much more expensive than this product with this sound bar. What a mistake that was. The sound bar provides sound, but it doesn't even come close to the "full, rich sound" the product description states. There is no bass whatsoever and the sound is very hollow, tin-canny. I would only recommend this if you absolutely need sound and have no other option. I ended up throwing my Champagne speakers down on the floor under the desk and even then the sound quality is better than the Dell sound bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AX-510 Sound Bar The sound bar was incredibly easy to install and fit the monitor perfectly (looks like OEM equipment). Sound quality is not stereo quality, but it's good enough and definately makes the computing experience much more enjoyable. The volume control knob on the side makes it easy to adjust the sound level for the media being played.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works As Advertised The speakers are made specifically for the UltraSharp monitors and gives out a decent sound for basic videos and movies. Do not expect superior surround sound as that is not their intention. If you plug HDMI devices (xbox360, camera, PS3, blu-ray) directly into your monitor and the sound cable into the monitor your sound will come through the speakers fine. Easy to snap on and only takes 5 minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inexpensive, and it sounds like it! Guess I had hoped for better sound, but what did I expect from something this small? Should have read these reviews first, my error, but for $35 I'm not crushed. Right now I am going back to my old anything-would-be-higher-fidelity speakers and putting the AX510 back into its box and into the drawer where it belongs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AX510 Flat Panel Stereo Soundbar This clips onto the display very easily, easy hook-up. If you have a laptop with inaudible speakers when it's docked, this is a tremendous help. I both take and give online seminars - impossible if you can't hear! This has completely rectified my situation. Sound quality is good. I like having the knob for volume, in addition to laptop volume controls. When I'm docked, it saves having to mute and unmute all the time - you just turn the knob.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ax510 sound bar I purchased the Dell P19s professional 19" monitor packaged with a Ax51o sound bar. the monitor is fine but I was disappointed with the Ax510 sound bar and would not recommend it. I am not one that listens to music all day long, but when I do I want it to be pleasing and natural; the Ax510 sounds tinny. Within 3 days after receiving it, I went out and purchased a Altec Lansing BXR 1221 speaker system ($27.00)which I am pleased with. The sound bar is stored under my bed with a few other things.
