Scanning bulky books or 3D objects is no problem, as the Perfection V370 Photo's lid has an extendable hinge than can open up to 180 degrees. This is because Epson's CCD image sensor technology offers a greater depth of field than the CIS (contact image censor) technology used in most comparable scanners. Rated 5 out of 5 byDiMowery from Needs an update for MacI bought this for my Mac and it said that it was compatible but I’m disappointed because I get a message that Epson needs to update their software. I would assume that it lets them know this. I know that it if it worked it would make beautiful prints.

Very pleased with overall performance of scanner until I finally had to uninstall ABBYY FineReader as not compatible with 2013 Word and Outlook. My Microsoft programs began working again immediately after FineReader uninstalled.

The fact that it is portable and separate from my printer was a plus for me as I could work on my project in an area where I wasn't isolated from everyone else in the family. I hooked it up to my laptop and started scanning.

Rated 5 out of 5 byErik from Not bad.Scans well. The auto photo and document pdf scan option does a reasonable job as far with cropping and deskewing different sized photos/pages. This saves time and makes things easy for most scan jobs. The hinged lid that opens to 180 degrees has proved useful as well.I would have preferred the cables to be plugged in at the back of the scanner rather than near the buttons at the front.

Rated 5 out of 5 byJRon from Excellent ScannerThis is a replacement for my long lasting Epson V350. Although my Epson printer has a scanner, I prefer using this style. When I was working, I had them purchase this style scanner for the Art Department and other department. It is easy to work with and gives excellent reproductions. It also can produce PDFs.
