Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed I installed my cartridges the day I got them. The first time I used them was great. The next time the black ink was barely visible. I did a cleaning of my print head and it was better. After a couple of more uses the same thing happened. I have had to clean the printheads so many time to try to get the ink working that my brand new color cartridges are almost empty after maybe 50 pages of print. Very disappointed.

I just bought a 564XL black cart. I printed maybe 2 pages. That was about 30 days ago. I tried to print today and I get no black. So I paid extra for the XL cart, and got far less. The economy cartridges are the only way to go. At least when they dry up and become useless it's not as much ink wasted.

I also really like that they send a postage payed envelope to send in your old ink cartridges for recycling. I just wish they would give you some type of rewards points for both buying and recycling there products

Because they're dependable and are of good quality. I have purchased my HP cartridges in the past from an office supply store but lately have been using the HP on-line service. It is easy to use and the service is quick. Any issue I've had has been quickly resolved by the HP customer service.

However, black ink is still not printing. I have tried running the clean print heads feature as well as the align printer feature, still no success. I am open to hearing any recommendations you have for troubleshooting and solving this problem. I was pleased with the prompt delivery.

We are a retired couple using the printer for home administrative needs, meaning we are not printing pictures and/or we use black vs. color the majority of the time. We find that when the cartridges are sitting for long periods of time, they either dry up, evaporate or just don't give us as many sheets of print as promised. Is there someway to make them last ?longer

This time the black ink leaked continuously on printed pages until I cleaned the print heads and aligned the cartridges. First we just had replacements, then we had two types of replacements, ordinary - which seemed to produce less pages and now XL at higher prices producing not much more than your original 2 or 3 years ago. Seriously getting local refills or replacing my printer for another make which has less expensive cartridges.

I've ran the "clean printhead" cycle so much, now my other colors are almost gone. Waste of money (and time)!!

Made me wonder what is the actual shelf life of ink cartridges. . and why do they cost so much. Maybe if they don't sell, they have to dispose of a lot of stock. Can't be the ink itself that's so costly, must be the packaging. As costly as ink cartridges are, they ought to give the printers away!

And they are too expensive for this to happen. I would like to see this resolved so the cartridges work every time.

I inserted the cartridge, the printer registered it as new and available and get blank paper. Now I need to print at the library until I can get a new printer. If I could return it I would. I don't replace them as soon as my printer tells me the ink is slow because I find I can get many more copies out of them. Ordering through HP is great, they arrive the the next day usually, and no shipping fee. I don't know how the price compares two other options, but really, they are outrageously high in my opinion. I spend hundreds of dollars a year even though my print needs are minimal. I looked at new HP computers yesterday, and there are several that cost less than one complete set of cartridges. They make their money on the ink, not the hardware.

It's fast drying and I have never had clogging, etc. in the five years I have been using this ink. I only recently began ordering ink through the HP store. Until then, I always bought HP ink for my HP printer at a nearby store. I much prefer ordering this ink from the HP Store because I have more choices, including economy sizes.

Tried to get live help didn’t happen. Tried different support suggestions might be working because I had only one other incident of freezing screen in two days. Still I wish I could get live support. I do like the screen size, the size of the footprint and speed of the computer.

While I understand the reason for the delay in receiving my order(the pandemic), when I ordered I was given an arrival date that came and went by several days. When I tried to print after finally receiving my order the print was unreadable. I tried multiple times. Your website did not make it easy to report the problem. I finally used FB messenger. That took 3 days to get a response. I needed to print and couldn’t wait. I ended up doing a search and used a wet paper towel to prime the cartridge. I’ve used HP cartridges for many years and never had this problem.

Original HP ink might seem more expensive but the perfect quality and increased number of pages it produces actually make it very cost effective. We will not risk the performance of our printer or the quality of our work by using anything but these outstanding cartridges.

This time, I couldn’t find any ink cartridges that I needed. And their website did not even have them listed with an ‘out of stock’ notation. I finally had to call and had to deal with someone who barely spoke English and after several minutes of trying to sell me things I didn’t, told me how to find my particular ink cartridges online. It turns out I had to go to a whole other website! In the future he said to just click on ‘reorder’. However, I had trouble finding that button on their website. I’m dreading the next time I need new ink cartridges.

I have in the past received them in a small box and wonder if a padded envelope would suffice. I am very concerned with the waste of materials used in packaging these days.

After I install the new full cartridge and go through the cleaning of cartridge head I have to put something in to copy. I have to do this a few times before the black starts to show up. They used to last several months, but not any more. The January purchase only lasted TWO weeks. Do I even need the Photo cartridge if I don't print photos? This is the large gartridge that goes on the far right side of my ink carriage. I still need the smaller black ink cartridge. I have yet to see a package that accurately distinguishes the large black ink cartiridge from the regular black ink cartridge. The packages and description at Office Depot and on HP website do not indicate which one you are buying. The XL can be on both sizes. I have now puchased 4 large sized ink cartridges but not the smaller standard cartridge.

I would still be able to use it with the exception of this last time. I bought a 2 pack of black ink at Walmart. The one worked but the other did not. I wasted money. When I order from HP, I never have that problem and I don't get messages saying the ink is counterfeit!

We are currently having an issue with being unable to print as our black photo ink is sowing as empty even though we had 3/4 full cartridge on 7/10 when I did a print out. We have removed and installed this cartridge to no avail. I think it is virtually impossible that we used this much in in less than a month. Suggestions?

Apparently, the after market cartridges may have been a little cheaper but quit printing in HALF TIME. In addition, the after market cartridge's colors (esp. the cyan) are not as vibrant. When copying in color, the blue prints out in a purple-magenta like color, not BLUE!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Lifetime Depends Upon Maintenance Various printer Tool operations and sometimes reseating 564XL cartridges during useful ink levels are too often required as indicated by inking gaps (thin parallel lines). This wastes user’s time and ink to correct. It is not as obvious with the non-XL cartridges since the standard 564 having less ink is more often replaced; automatically receiving Tool operations after being newly seated. I’ve learned by experience to identify a particular still full cartridge in the multicolor bunch that needs a particular Tool operation or reseating. Yet, it is not always the only solution since changing cartridges automatically tools for perfect use. Changing a cartridge especially works best for those that sell and supply these home printing systems and is expense for non-troubleshooting customers. The real need for changing due to low ink (or cartridge defect), of course, is always very obvious to all (even a tight-wad like me). I’m thankful that your printers today have a complete set of alignment tool operations; as well as, good visual instructions on how to change ink and remove paper jams. An all around good deal for all of us!

I have only used HP cartridges. If I took the cartridge out and reloaded it would print a few times then I would get the same message.I don't think I was out of ink, just fed up with popups.

Unfortunately, what I didn’t realize was the printer didn’t stop because it needed fresh ink, the printer just died. I has already replaced all the ink cartridges when I realized this, so can’t return. New printer takes different cartridge number.

That why I would never use another brand, especially not an off-brand, fly-by-night brand which may be cheaper, but not better for color, tone, or not dripping or leaking all over the type. Never experienced this problem. technical personnel initially just said it was the printer head and I needed a new printer. Subsequently I took the brand new cartridge out of the printer and replaced the partially filled XL with the new one taken from the “defective printer”. Well guess what? The second printer no longer printed.. (It is my wife’s upstairs office.)

I called and am getting a re-order and was sent out a shipping label for Fedex. Fedex refused this because it didn't come with a bar code. I can't get any help with this. The shipping label was sent to me again from HP but it doesn't come with the bar code. I am very happy with all the products I have from Hp like my lap top and printer. This is a new Hp Office Jet Pro 8710 printer and it is very quick and easy.

It ran out of ink after about 6 sheets. I reinserted is and tried the old cartridge. Both were low or out. Now I have to figure out how to return it. Pain in the neck..

I received prompt shipping by Fed Ex but on receipt found that Cartridges were not compatible for my Printer. Was provided with printable shipping label information of which was redundant due to not being able to print out without proper replacement Cartridges. Found alternative source on line and ordered same. New order was promptly shipped and upon receipt found them compatible. I have been a long time user of HP Products and equipment and have always received good service. I realize that mistakes may happen including my own so do not fault HP as being a bad Actor however I was disappointed in the process of repackaging and return of wrong Cartridges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from service sucks hp stands for Hardly People I ordered black ink about one month before this and it worked for one day--I thought the cartridge was bad but of course I could not talk to anyone at HP to explain the situation and get a new replacement cartridge to try out. I believe I sent an email or online message but not reply--the FAQ area you like to send us to also sucks by the way. So I needed a printer/copies and I ordered a new black cartridge as well as the 3 color cartridges. I put them in and it still doesn't work--also still cant talk to anyone. I figure the printer is bad and it is easier to buy a new one then to repair so I will likely get a new one but now I have $85 worth of new cartridges that cannot be used. I get printers go bad and this one was older and I get a cartridge can be bad sometimes but why the heck can I not speak to anyone about it--you send me 20 emails a week about all your offers but I can't reach a live person to correct an issue---Hardly People does not seem to provide people or care about people.

Retail outlets stock each of the other 4 cartridges used in this product, but not the cartridge with the bow tie icon. j Also, the produce I needed was not listed in your online catalogue. I spent considerable time on the phone tracking down this product. It is regrettable when you spend more time servicing a product than you do using it!

Not the other Photosmart printers, just the C6300 model. That's really funny! So I'll try to return the one unopened ink cartridge and buy a competitors printer! WRONG.....it took three delivery attempts to get the wrong ink (delivery was more of a FED X issue and I noticed the final successful delivery was via UPS... I ordered two cartridges of Black 564XL High Yield and when putting in the first cartridge, my printer indicated that the cartridge was depleted or may be counterfeit. I attempted several times to clean printer heads and allign cartridges to no avail. Finally, I replaced the New cartridge with the second New cartridge and it worked perfectly. I contacted HP Customer Service regarding the defective one and they not only sent me a return label for the defective cartridge, but sent me two new Black 564XL High Yeild cartridges even though only one was defective. HP essentially replaced the entire order. Thank you!

I followed all the troubleshooting steps, but can't make it work. I also tried to contact Cust Support to report it, but got disconnected 3 times. When I use the online agent to resolve, it just sends me to trouble shooting, then Learn About Supplies, with no resolution. Time to buy from Amazon!

Even after shaking the cartridge it produces pages that only contain some of the text. It works like it's running out of ink until you print a number of pages. Very annoying.

I previously purchased your HP Black Ink Cartridge and discovered that my printer would not print because the printer head was damaged beyond repair. So I purchased a new printer. The set up was a nightmare primarily because a USB cable was not included and required a separate purchase for it. I had to purchase it and wait until it arrived before I could finish assembling the printer. To improve customer satisfaction I suggest that your salespeople inform their buyers of this and sell them this USB cable so that it can be included in the shipping package.

After an extensive time of working with it and testing the printing quality on several sheets of paper; it did finally work. I am very disappointed in the quality of this particular batch of ink (Malaysia Oct 2020 warranty ends). Other shipments of ink had performed very well. Marlyn

I had to use the "Clean printhead" function 10 times before the black would print with no streaks. That wouldn't be so bad but doing all those cleanings used up most of the ink in the three brand new color cartridges.

All have ended up in the scrap heap except for HP. The painters ar fantastic and the ink is much more affordable than the other brands of printers. You get what you pay for and HP ink is the best.

All I ever got was poor performance and an inky mess. Even though I think they cost too much, I will now only use new factory built cartridges. I have only used HP printers at home for decades, but always bought high end printers. Feeling broke one day when my last one died, I picked this one up for a song. However, it goes through ink like water, and there is no low ink warning. I'll be handing it off to a child and buying a higher end printer that is more economical in the long run. But if you are a light user and don't have much cash to spend, it will meet your needs.

I quit using the cheap brand of paper and switched to the HP brand AND with the 92 brightness. I am now getting 30% more pages from an ink cartridge. This has been a reason I have kept my printer, and continue to use the HP ink.

If it holds twice as much as you claim, it would have been nice if you had put a blurb on the wrapper saying that it did so even though you had made the cartridge smaller. Other than that I can't review it as I just installed it. The cartridge installed before worked just fine.

I grabbed the black cartridge along w/all the colors, plus the photo black. Get home only to find I need the 564XL black, its a larger cartridge than regular 564 black. I return the regular one to the store, and they don't have the XL. So I go online and order 564XL, it arrives (quickly - gotta give HP credit for shipping speed and free next day postage!) and it's the same size as all the other cartridges, but it is the 564XL, so I guess they redesigned it, and it does fit, but is 1/2 the size of the old XL black, so I'm wondering why I'm paying a lot more for XL when it isn't XL? And this printer eats ink like I eat chocolate! The prices of ink are ridiculous, you could just keep buying new printers instead if it didn't take so long to install them... I just don't get it.

If this is what HP wants to do to help it's customers then I will look to another printer manufacturer for future purchases. As an owner of two 7560s and previously two 7360s with the six 02 cartridges I've grown really tired of struggling to get the color right on my photographs. The lack of color managment was always a negative but now this change is the deciding straw.

When I would buy the XL cartridge for the older printer, I could print many more documents than what I am getting with this cartridge. Both printers were photosmart, but the size of the ink cartridge is about half of the size on the old printer. Both printers have great print quality, just a capacity per cartridge issue.

I would rate this 5 stars if the ink lasted longer. The quality is beyond excellent, as long as the photo paper is clean I have no problems with it. The next day shipping is incredible, I ordered it on line in the afternoon the day before and received it in the morning the next day without choosing "morning delivery". Very satisfied with customer service in the order/shipping dept, there must be a good system set up which communicates orders directly to the shipping dept and no time is wasted expediting the order. 5 ink stains up, doesn't get any better than this.

I had begun to think that something was wrong with my device, but apparently not. I will look for an alternative to my HP all-in-one when I replace it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP Printers Used To Be Top of the Line I have always used HP printers. When you ran out of ink in one color, you DID NOT need to fill all of them. Now, when you are out of ink, you must fill all of them. Ink just does not last very long and expensive. I am a home user and don't print that much. There is very little ink in these cartridges. I am going to see if I can get ink elsewhere, or get rid of this new one and try another brand.

After cleaning the cartridge heads, the print was black and sharp for several days, and then faded again. Recleaning and aligning the heads again gave normal print output, but I am waiting for it to fail again. This black 564xl cartridge was purchased from HP on 6/19/12 and is full on ink check status so i don't know why it is failing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor Cartridge I installed cartridge as I always have, but it printed poorly. I cleaned the nozzels twice. Still did'nt print properly. I then took the cartridge out and turned it end for and replaced it. It printed for 8 or ten pages. It printed half the pages and resume back to bad printing. I then took the cartridge out and agitated it a few times and cleaned the nozzels again. It has been alternating between good and poor since. I am unpleased with your cartridge!!!

The old Mega cartridge black 564xl was rated at 800 pages. The new 564xl black is rated at 550 pages. Sure, the cost on the new one is proportionally priced, but, that's not the point. Bring back the mega cartridge for the people who want it. Call it the 564XXL. At least, give people the choice.

HP's page-per-cartridge numbers for both 564 and 564XL inks much less what we've been getting, and I've been using the 'fast economical' setting for most of our prints. Our next printer will not be an HP product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't Use HP Inks I have found that the Remanfactured Inks on the market (especialy on line) are both compatible & tend to give more pages per cartridge than the HP Ink cartridges. There is One(1) draw back though it seems as if the C309a series Photosmart Premium Print-Fax-Scan-Copy units will not give out an accurate reading of the levels in the Remanfactured Ink Cartridges, but if you can live with that, their less costly and realy do give more pages per cartridge!

The size of the cartridge is almost half what it was previously and the price stayed relatively the same. This amounts to almost a doubling in price. Does it work with my current printer yes , is it easy to install yes, but the primary issue is the misleading packaging and calling it an XL cartridge. I'll take a longer look at HP products in the future before buying because of this.

I am constantly changing cartridges and I am a casual user and don't run a business. Next time I buy a printer, I'll have to rethink this whole HP thing.

First, the printer shut itself down and I spent hours getting it running again, using online tutorials and YouTube tutorials. Then, after printing maybe 12 pages, the black ink stopped working. I feared that this was a defect in my printer, which I've only had a few months. Exasperated, I finally tried changing out the 564XL inker and putting in a new one. The printer is now working just fine. Any chance for a refund or coupon towards my next purchase of the 564XL? I saved it in case you want me to send it in Let me know.

Wrote HP and never got so much as an acknowledgement or the email or the problem. What an expensive waste for the customer. Have been saving my empty cartridges and will begin using refill ink, as it can't be any worse than a light grey print from a brand new cartridge I paid big bucks for. I print a lot, but friends I got to buy HP as I help set up and maintain systems, the ink if too expensive for those who do little printing.

The ink never fails to produce quality photos, documents or whatever I am printing. My only complaint is the ink doesn't last as long as I would like. I don't print an extensive amount of anything which surprises me when I receive a 'low ink' message. I prefer to stay ahead of ink cartridges so I'm not caught off guard. I can't say enough about the service. They are definitely 'on their game' when it comes to shipping products out!

This cartridge always runs out of ink well before the XL sized color cartridges. When it was larger the black ran out at approximately the same time as the other three color cartridges. I also noticed that HP did not reduce the price when they reduced the size.

I would never have bought this printer as in 3 months I have used 4 times the amount of ink that my previous printer did. I have now had to buy in 3 times since purchase. And using the XL size cartridges that means I have now paid 3 times the amount the printer cost me. And I'm not even printing a lot. My old 8400 printer would still be on the initial cartridges. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER

The price was about the same, but, the store did not have what I wanted for 3 weeks, so, I shopped HP on line, and the stores lost my business. The ink cartridge came in a couple days, and I installed it. It worked the very first print job, and not as one of those "store-filled" ones, which gave me more headahes than it was worth. I would like a bigger break on the price though. Ink is a costly item these days.

It took 30 minutes on the phone with 3 different agents before they authorized the exchange. Not a good experience.

I already stopped printing photos because it's much too expensive. Unless you make immediate changes in cartridge size, or substantially reduce your current prices, when my current cartridges run out I am going to purchase another printer. Any brand has to be more cost effective that HP. The ball is in your court.

You will not get anywhere near advertised claims on the number of pages per cartridge. I like the performance in terms of its look on the printed page. But the pricing for the capacity I get makes this product a weak value. If there were another choice, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

By looking at the ink supply graphic, the cartridge had 15-20 percent remaining. This erases the advantage of buying and installing the XL cartridge.

Physically, the Black (XL) cartridges I've been using have been 15/16 ths inches in width, while this one is only 9/16 ths. Since this is a gravity opperated device, the 3/8th width difference equates to less product inside as well as installation challanges in centering a small cartridge into a larger slot. I'm not pleased that the price didn't shrink to match the cartridge.

This is what I thought I was ordering. We have had the Photosmart Plus printer less than 2 years, do not use it alot but have spent more on ink than cost of printer! Now they have discontinued the larger more economical cartridges. I definely would not purchase another HP printer.

I don't do much copying so am disappointed that I must replace the cartridges so often. So although the cost of each cartridge is lower than the normal, larger cartridges the ink does not last proportionately longer.

It was expensive, but lasted about 1/10th of the time I expected. I am really disappointed, and probably will never use HP again.

And keep in mind that most of what he needs to read is in a text book or on the iPad - so we don't do as much printing now as I did when I was in my undergrad. The XL cartridges will last through that class - and no further. We're not printing pictures here - and we're not printing often. The cartridges on our last printer made it most of the way through printing all the pictures for one baby book. Time to go back to the drawing board and figure out how to make these cartidges last longer - or cost less - withouth skimping on print quality.

The printer uses up most of the ink providing me warning when it is getting low, but allowing me to actually use it up and doesn't just stop working wasting ink.

My high yield cartridges last only 3-4 weeks, and I don't do a lot of printing. The old photosmart printer I had was much better with the ink -- I never went through a cartridge in that short amount of time. Would never recommend this printer, but I'm stuck spending over $100/month on ink because I haven't had the printer all that long and don't want to replace it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smaller size not necessarily a bad thing I have always bought the XL inks, thinking they were a better value and would last longer, but the truth is that I don't really print all that much these days. Yes, the new XL cartridges are significantly smaller than the old ones, but maybe this time around the ink won't gunk up inside the printer because it isn't being used quick enough. There is really no value in the old XL cartridge if the ink dries up before you get to the end. The last one nearly broke my printer (crossed my fingers and soaked the print head in hot water for 5 minutes- it worked!). So, I am not unhappy about the smaller size. Generally speaking, though- ink prices are an outrage. I can fuel an entire high performance car engine for $3.50 a gallon but a gallon of printer ink costs thousands of dollars. If gas prices are greedy- this is REALLY something to make a fuss about!

With H/P you buy two and get one of them free. Different ways in different parts of the country I suppose. One of the last black cartridges I ordered would not work at all. When I received my order of 564XL cartridges, I noticed that the size of the cartridge was smaller than the original cartridges and replacement cartridges that I had purchased at the time that I bought my printers. I was sure that something was wrong with that, so I called tech support. After some checking, I was told that there had been a change in the cartridge design and that the newer (smaller) cartridges would fit and had the same capacity as the original cartridges. It would have been nice to know that information so that I would not have had to take the time to call. Anyway, if you have the older, larger cartridges, the new 564XL will work perfectly.

With such a high cost of the ink and such a low performance (I can hardly get 200 pages out of the 564XL) I think it might be a good idea to start buying real books for the same cost as reprinting them from the online library. This will be "greener", more convenient than wasting my time on printing, and I will have whole books instead of the single chapters. HP should lower the price or double the ink performance.

Have changed cartridges numerous times. You can get 500 sheets from the 564xl if you only have one sentence per page. There has to be a better product out there somewhere. Wireless only works some times. just a real pain to fool with.

However, this time the black one, which used to be twice the outside dimensions as the colors, is now almost the same size as the color cartridges, even though they both say they have the same twice the amount of regular.

Why not give the larger ink cartridges a try? Installation is easy. In fact, the XL installs the same way as the smaller cartridges and lasts longer, too.

Then I tried the other Xl ink that I bought together and this did not work either. I researched the issue online and someone said they resolved this problem by using a regular 564 and it worked. So I went out and brought a 564 black ink, loaded it and it worked. Now I have two opened 564XL cartridges.

Ended up buying off brand. FYI, which costed $12 more than HP ink. My HP printer did not like the ink. System rejected it 3 times before accepting illegal ink intruder. Finished my the project on time. Printing job not as good as HP ink. Yes, I noticed the difference that I have been tacking for granted for many years. Ordered my HP ink via web site. Within 2-3 days the sub-standard ink was in the trash. I will not print without HP ink again.

I then placed two additonal orders, one week apart because they did not ship as usual the next business day. Then I received each of those two orders the same day. These last three orders should show on you system. I did speak to someone but it was one of those things getting really involved and I quit. I use a lot of ink but I never used one whole refill of cartridges in one week, Just not possible. Thank you

Rated 5 out of 5 by from hp ink cartridges same old story. HP cartridges are far to expensive. I rarely print and it seems as though I am replacing these cartridges every 6 months. I suppose whether they are being used or not, the ink is evaporating, or simply drying out.

If at all possible I would like to be reimbursed for the black one or have it replaced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality issue I usually have no problems with your ink, however the last cartridge of XL Black I purchased leaked when I removed the orange plastic lever on the bottom. I wiped it clean and installed it. I made about 30 prints and the black failed. I ran both the alignment and the printhead cleaning. Diagnostic shows ink level high. I just opened a Magenta XL and it also leaked when I opened it and I'm hoping it doesn't have the same problem.........these are spendy items and I use a lot of ink. I expect quality.

The other three fit and work well. Good thing I purchased a package of 3 black cartridges. I hope they fit.

Instead of printing the 550 pages promised I can only print maybe 100 then will not print anymore. I change the cartridge and all is fine. I have searched the forum and followed the advice given. I was receiving technical support from someone in India that I couldn't understand and she kept saying that my printer was out of warranty. I finally told her that my printer was fine and my problem was a defective ink cartridge. It is impossible to converse with someone with that language barrier. I called the home office and spoke to a kind individual who overnight-ed a new black cartridge and it works perfectly.

However, if you show the black ink along with the colored ink on your website, I understand that it is the smaller size that I need. I now have 6 of the larger size black inks, as I ordered 564 and 564XL thinking there would be a difference between the two. I finally drove 60 miles to a Staples store to find out what kind of packaging I needed to look for. The colored ink is not marked "photo" on the box, so I didn't know that was what I was supposed to be looking for when buying the black.

What i have recently found with my new HP Photosmart 7520 is that non-OEM ink will signal empty b/f the cartridge is empty. This may be an HP issue, but bottom line is what discount I may have been getting w/the non-OEM ink was actually costing me more in wasted ink. Add to the fact that HP will ship overnight (for free), and I have been converted to buy only OEM ink for my printer from the HP website. BTW, the cost of OEM ink at the HP website is cheaper than the OEM ink at discount ink sites.

Never used to happen. Quality control not what it was. I battled with them on the first one and they sent me 2 new cartridges which was great but what I went through to get them I just don't have the energy for these two recent ones. I had an extra for one (60) and I put it in and it worked. The 564 put in brand new tried everything and no luck. Really disappointed as a loyal customer.

I don't use the printer very often, but it seems like I am always running out of ink. Just like this time, the last cartridge that I bought was supposed to be the large one, but the cartridge is the sane size as the photo ones. The HP service, with regard to delivery time, product updates, and trouble shooting assistance with problems is as good as I have seen. I have had no trouble with my printer, it makes great photos, but I wish that I had another source for ink, because I am tired of running out! Well, you asked...........

I realize the new printers don't have this cartridge but my printer is only 3 years old and works perfectly well. I've looked in all the stores in my area but cannot find this cartridge. I don't see it on your website either. I don't need a new printer, just the SMALL BLACK CARTRIDGE! For clarification, it's the one with the bow tie on it. In speaking with the support line I was told I probably needed to clean the print head, but most likely I need to replace it. The estimated cost was about $150. That is about what I paid for the printer. This device is used at home, not in a work environment. There are only 2 users and the printer is barely a year old. Obviously I am not happy. We bought HP due to its reputation for quality. We will think twice before buying another HP product.

The instrument of legibility was delivered in a cleverly designed box designed to protect it from the vicissitudes of the shipping processes. Opening the box revealed a sleek black container that was further protected by a plastic wrapper and a clever plug to keep the contents of the cartridge ready to do its job. With a rip of the tab on the plastic covering and a quick twist of the plastic tab the cartridge was ready for installation in the printer. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Interesting Product I bought the hp photosmart 5520 recently. They say that you can get 500 sheets from one 564 XL cartridge. I didn't get any where near that many on my first cartridge, so I ordered another. The jury is still out. I will tell you that the printer is nice. The photos are nice and the print quality is good, but it went though the ink in a big way with the first cartridges that came with the printer. I'm thinking I'll need to buy a laser printer and conserve my precious ink with my laser jet. I'm not dissatisfied, but these cartridges do not print the amount of pages stated in the specs.

I called and reported it and they sent me a new one within one day with no questions asked. I personally appreciate them not asking me to be bothered with sending the bad one back to them. Thank you.

I actually tested it myself by putting a picture I printed on the wall under a fluorescent desk lamp which would fade it because it outputs ultraviolet light. Hasn't faded in over a year. Also, the XL size saves money.

Unfortunately, that is what my printer requires, and I do not want to purchase a new printer just yet. HP, I am so very disappointed in you. I get the 564XL because I keep hoping I will get the number of printed pages you indicate. Unfortunately, I still get fewer pages than even what you profess with the regular 564 cartridges. I had to install a new cartridge the day my shipment arrived, and we barely printed 75 pages with this new cartridge. Cut your prices or increase the quality of your product. This is ridiculous. Trust me, if I am forced to purchase a new printer to get more copies with the ink supply, I will definitely purchase a different brand altogether. I have been with HP many years, but your ink cartridges are driving me away.

These carts are too expensive to be defective, And I hate the idea one has to actually run out of ink, print blank pages, before you know you need to replace the cart. How about a warning?

In fact this one won't print and I have to try to get another one since the printer won't work without it. I buy the 2x cartridge to get more pages. But I still go through them more quickly than I like. I've had other of your printers where I felt as though the ink cartridges were of better value like the 1218 printer. But I buy HP for your quality. As far as ordering on line goes; this was my first time. You had a better price than my local stores. I was astonished when the delivery was just as promised and it was free. THAT was impressive. Ordering could be a bit easier on line, especially where the check out process is concerned. Will I do it again...yep, sure will, especially when the price is competitive.

I got a lot more pages of print for the money on my older printers with the larger cartridges. I've recently had two brand new 564XL that simply refused to print -- had to run about 10 test pages to get one to work, the other I had to throw away, totally dry, even though the use-by date was OK. I continue to order original HP cartridges from Home and Office, just to enable the ink-level feature in your S/W. But, I wait for your sales, can't afford the normal price.

I am going to have to keep track each time I print on either of these. I have not gone through a pack of 500 paper and have gone through two(2) 564XL cartridges on both printers. Obviously I am not getting near the quantity of pages advertised and have not printed photos. I really like the quality of print but can hardly afford to keep up with HP cartridges.

I print on the Fast/Low quality setting to save ink. I used to get nearly 700 pages from these cartriges. I am very disappointed. I will give HP one more chance. Then it will be time to start looking for another brand of printer.

However a screen came up asking me to choose from one of 4 things that I could have just for using HP products. No matter how hard I tried or what I did, nothing would happen. The cartridges don't last the amount stated even for the extra ink cartridge. I won't buy this printer again. But as I reflected I was working on a project that required A L O T of copying of material with a purple border created by another person. Rated 5 out of 5 by from certainly not high yield I notice this wireless all in one photosmart uses a lot of ink so I bought the "high yield" ink. Supposed to give you 550 pages. I had it for under 2 months and it was empty. I did not even have 550 pieces of print paper in my house! Probably didn't get 150 sheets out of it. this is the second one I purchased as I have no choice, but it does not yield very much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Change in ink cartridges HP Photosmart 7510 needs 2 black ink cartridges. One cartridge is larger than the other. No matter if I purchase the NOIR or the XL it's the same exact size cartridge and I NEED THE SMALLER ONE! Something must have changed. Because now I have 6 brand new black ink cartridges and it's not the one I need! UGH!! I've tried contacting HP and not getting a response.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ink Cartridges R a disappointment We have used HP products forever...however ever since they began manufacturing in Germany, the cartridges do not last as long as before. We are considering changing to another brand of printer as we are going through ink like we cannot believe. We are very bummed and disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Printer drinks the ink Where does my ink go? I only print a couple pages a month. I rarely use color. It is very frustrating when you need to print something with just black ink and get the "unable to print until you change the yellow cartridge". I miss the old HP printers the would print regardless of ink status. At least HP offers free overnight shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from INK IS OK BUT EXPENSIVE. PRINTER SUCKS WHEN WE WANT TO PRINT WIRELESSLY, THE PRINTER WORKS ABOUT HALF THE TIME. THE MOST TYPICAL PROBLEM IS THAT THE PRINTER IS OFFLINE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY IT IS OFFLINE. TO GET IT TO PRINT I TRY SOME COMBINATION OF TURNING IT OFF/ON, DELETING IT AN REINSTALLING IT AND PRAYING. SO, I'M NOT HAPPY WITH IT AND WILL PROBABLY DISCARD IT WHEN THE INK RUNS OUT.

Upon receipt I installed one of the cartridges and printed less than 10 pages and then there was no more black ink. I removed this cartridge and installed a new one and it is working fine. Obviously the first cartridge is defective - very disappointing.

Took a long time to sort this out (credit to the HP help feature to analyze and fix this problem. However, I'm still disappointed by this event.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nothing but trouble I purchased for work 2 twin packs of cartridges at about $225.00 in June and they do not work at all. You can maybe print between 30 to 50 sheets without the ink staring to fade away. You have to keep taking them out and shaking them to get them to work again, You cannot leave your printed unattended because you will come back with a stack if sheets you need to reprint.. You can only put a few sheets into print at one time because of this issue. I am on my last cartridge and just put it in last night and I have had to stop and shake it 4 times already this morning.

I have not had a single 564 or 564XL ink cartridge last more than 10 pages before the ink starts to fade at $24 the cartridge should last me way beyond that!!!! BRAND NEW CARTRIDGES AND THEY DONT LAST MORE THAN 10 PAGES??? COME ON!!! This is not the first cartridge to do it, it is not the second, it is not the third, it isn't even the fourth cartridge to not last more than 10 pages!!! I DO NOT have the print settings on anything other than basic settings and I am NOT getting my moneys worth I will not be wasting my money on HP products anymore!!!!

Immediately upon receipt, it would not print and would have to be removed, shaken, then re-installed before it would work. This happened frequently until I gave up and ordered a replacement. There should be a convenient way to contact you in person to resolve issues like that.

This was never a problem before since I have I have been ordering this product on online for years, Very disappointed this time.
