The industry award winning HPE Storage Essentials software is the first open, standards-based suite of storage products designed to integrate into HPE's unified server-storage management platform, HPE Systems Insight Manager. HPE Storage Essentials suite is an open, integrated family of SAN management and storage resource management solutions for heterogeneous networked storage that enables you to simply manage, discover and visualize IT resources, discover, monitor, report on, provision, meter capacity, backup reporting and configure your multi-vendor storage environment through a single, Web-based enterprise console.
HPE Storage Essentials Enterprise Edition serves as the base management console for the suite. The software takes advantage of the latest in industry standards such as SMI-S, WBEM, WMI, JBOS and J2EE. This ensures that solution is extensible and will support the insertion of 3rd party, partner technology content. Storage Essentials Enterprise Edition provides auto-discovery of applications, hosts, HBAs, switches, and storage systems; topology visualization; dependency and path management; end-to-end capacity and performance management with historical and future trending; event management; policy-based automation; and role-based security. Built-in Advisors and Automators simplify time-consuming tasks such as managing worldwide names when replacing HBAs; identifying out of date switch and HBA firmware; and locating array volumes that can be reached by hosts that are running low on capacity. Storage Essentials Enterprise Editions includes over 150 pre-configured reports enabling the user to report on items such as assets, chargeback and file systems and utilization.
