Its sturdy design and construction handle daily wear and tear. The physical connection is the only transfer point for data from keyboard to iPad, making it a secure solution for student testing and exams. The keyboard physically connects to the iPad using Logitech proprietary secure connector.
The keyboard sources power directly from iPad, meaning you never have to charge the keyboard. The keyboard power consumption is optimized to use minimal power.
The keyboard design leverages decades of Logitech experience. Well-spaced keys are stretched edge to edge allowing for a familiar, laptop-like typing experience to minimize mistakes. Scissor Keys technology offers optimized key travel and responsiveness, making typing comfortable. The keyboard has a dedicated row of short-cut and function keys, for easy navigation to some of the iPad functions directly from the keyboard.
The kick-back stand moves freely within a 40-degree tilt - making it flexible to move from upright at 60 degrees to laid back at 20 degrees or fully flat. Sturdy mechanical hinges ensure the angle stays firmly in place and does not collapse even with strong tapping.
The transparent window on the back of the case provides convenient space for asset tagging, yet stays hidden during use.
Lightning connector pass through allows for charging and data transfer without removing the iPad from the case.
Compatible with Bretford PowerSync MiX Cart Series, LocknCharge Small 5-slot Mobile Device baskets and the Large 5-slot Mobile Device baskets.

Rated 5 out of 5 bySMIC from Unusable, will not consistently charge the iPadDO NOT BUY, DEFECTIVE DESIGN!!!!!!!!!!While the concept of these cases if perfect, they have a major deal-breaking issue.Randomly, they will stop the iPad from receiving a charge.To remedy this, you must fully disassemble each case from it's iPad.Then completely reassemble it, and plug it back in.In the meantime, you have students unable to use the iPads.Also, there is no way to predict when or to which iPads this issue will affect.We will be demanding a return and refund if Logitech is not able to fix this situation.

Rated 5 out of 5 byTony from Do Not Buy This ProductThis product has a major defect in the way the case transfers a charge to the battery - essentially it doesn't take a charge if the battery capacity is something like 50% or less. At that point, the only remedy is to take the thing apart and restart the iPad. Our school system supplied these cases and most of the kids are having the same problem.Aside from that major issue, this is an excellent case and is build to stand up to everyday student use. The issue seems to have been rectified completely in the updated version of this case - the Rugged Combo 2. CDW did carry this case in the fall but now it seems to be gone. It appears only to be purchasable through the Apple academic channels, which is strange since so many students supply their own iPads (and cases). The Product number for this corrected version of the case is 920-008900.
