Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save your moneyRead the reviews on Optoma UHD projectors I have A UHD51A that stopped working after 1 months of use. HDMI 2 doesn’t work at all and HDMI 1 flickers. It’s a known problem if you search the web. Optoma will ask you to do an RMA and then wait 7-10 days for them to repair. After spending $1700 on a projector that is ridiculous. Buyer beware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Update to previous reviewI want to update my previous review as with any electronics I want to report that I may have purchased a lemon. I will say that Optoma customer support has gone out of their way to help me resolve all my issues. Specifically Marty with optoma has been amazing. I love the picture quality in 4K and 1080p you will be amazed when you get it dialed in right. I originally gave my review a 1 star and said I would not recommend but after working with Marty he has completely changed my mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid UHD Projector with critical flaw.I've owned the UHD51A for a few months now. I use it primarily for PC gaming in 3D, 4K tv watching (and occasionally gaming at 120Hz in 2D on a 140" screen. I spend most of my time in 3D modes with my projectors.Image quality is great and 2D games really shine in 4K. Even 1080p content looks good from close distance due to the higher overall number of pixels fitting on the screen. Much better than my previous 1080p projector from 10-12 feet away.Blu-ray 3D movies also look fantastic playing on a PS3 (1080p). Overall, I've had no serious issues with the 3D functionality except for one KEY thing:Frame sequential 3D support is missing or disabled. This means I cannot play 3D games in higher resolutions from a PC at 1080p. I have to settle for software modes (like nVidia's 3D tv play) that only work in 720p for a decent refresh rate (60fps and above).Older Optoma projectors as well as current lower tier models have frame sequential mode as an option, so not sure why it's not included on this UHD/3D marketed model. Pairing the increased UHD pixel count with a maximum 720p resolution in 3D seems like a limiting combo. For some people, being able to watch 2D content in 4K and 3D movies on the same machine is good enough. For those people, I think this projector is a winner as it does both of those basic things very well.As a 3D gamer, though, the UHD51A's lack of frame sequential 3D support is both limiting and head scratching...especially since they are still including in other newly released models.Hopefully this is an oversight that can be corrected with a firmware update. If that's the case, even with some other minor issues (like wifi support, Alexa problems, etc) the enabling of frame sequential 3D mode would be enough to check all of the major boxes for me and many other 3D gamers. That would make this a 5-STAR product in my eyes and the ultimate 3D gaming projector that I was going for when I purchased it.
