Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn't fit the New I Pad I love the Otter Box defender and used one with my I Pad mini for years. I upgraded to a New I Pad 9.7 inch and ordered the defender that is advertised for the I Pad 9.7 Pro thinking that it would work with the New I Pad. However it does not fit. Otter Box customer service was very helpful and found out for me that the New I Pad does not have an Otter Box defender that will fit even though it is a 9.7 inch device. They allowed me return the defender and promised to notify me if they develop a defender case for my I Pad. So, I love the Otter Box defender but can't use it with my New I Pad.

Now when she falls asleep with the iPad and it slips off her lap, it falls to the floor with a muffled clunk. Protection at it's best. I can now rest peacefully when she uses her iPad. Love the protection the Defender delivers. And my wife loves the case's colors. All is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Screen protector had to go I have used Defender cases on my phones for years with great results. That’s why I ordered one for my iPad. But I was disappointed with the fit. It was very tight getting it to snap together and the screen protector would not sit touching the screen. So using the iPad, I had to mash the protector until it touched the screen before it would “click” on anything on the screen. So I ended up peeling the screen protector off of an expensive case just to make it fit & work properly. This is disappointing after spending this much money on a case and having such good fit for my iPhones that I’ve had.

Hard to get on and off, I don't use it anymore, don't even know where it is. Would be great I'd there was a better solution for front protection and holding the pen. But the basic case is great.

It arrived fairly quickly and I put my iPad right into it. A day later, will doing something stupid, i dropped my "protected" iPad on the floor from about 3 feet. Not a bit of damage to my iPad. This is a great product. So great, I bought an Otter box for my iPhone too!

We have 2 iPhones and 2 iPads and we love the security the otter box gives us. It is very durable, yet lightweight and easy to carry around. I have had other cases and find them bulky and heavy.

Shipping took a couple of weeks but when it arrived, it doesn't fit very well. I can't get the clips on the corners to lock, it almost seems as if the case is too small. These are some of the same complaints that I saw listed when this case was reviewed on Amazon. I have used Otterbox cases for my iPhones and they have been great but I am highly disappointed in this case. If it fit, I think it would provide decent protection but it isn't nearly as good as the LifeProof case I have for my first iPad.

The dust covers for power and headphones are hinged on the front side and are a pain to open and you make the connection. The iPad doesn't fit well in the upright stand and pops out all the time. The upright stand is therefor basically useless. It is also very hard to remove the ipad from the case, you need strong hands to do it.

Case fits great, no issues with screen sensitivity or ports being in the wrong place. Feels very substantial in my big, clumsy hands - a huge improvement over a thin case I was using previously. I'm taking my iPad on a 2500 mile bike adventure, and counting on this case to keep it safe (and dry) on the trip. It certainly looks and feels like it will work well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't fit right I purchase this Defender Case for my new iPad. Everything went on fine, but when I went to attach the cover, it wouldn't fit because of the rubber fitting. My old iPad 2 and its Defender Case has a hard plastic outside skin and it snaps into the cover/the cover snaps over the screen. This does not. But I don't take this one out of the house so I'm putting up with it.

Otter box is durable and protects our electronics even when dropped. I have used them for years and they are like insurance on the product. We have never had a lens cracked or shattered. I wouldn't do without Otterbox and I highly recommend it.

I like the case overall but the light censor holes at the top on either side of the front camera seem very vulnerable as there is no depth between the screen and exposure. Not really sure why that is considering previous version seemed to have covered that area better. Also I feel like not having the case available at the launch of the product it's used for really gives competitors who have similar cases a huge advantage, many where out at on the date the 9.7 inch iPad Pro released and where much cheaper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny I've been using Otterbox products since the iPhone 3. When I bought a new iPad Pro 9.7, I immediately bought a new otterbox iPad case. My old otterbox iPad case was bulky and round, but did all it was suppose to do. This new case is extremely thin and lightweight. The case allows for amazing sound from all 4 iPad speakers and protects the camera while allowing it to work perfectly. No issues with the flash or quality. The case allows you to use the Touch ID should you choose to do so. I also use the ipencil daily. I was a little worried about the screen protector causing problems with the pencils ability to be accurate or cause some offset when writing or drawing. But there are no issues at all. Works great. When you first use the pencil over the screen protector. There will be some areas that want to "grab" the pencil. In other words, the ipencil will glide smoothly and then hit an area where it doesn't want to move as easily. But all of these areas went away after a few days of using the otterbox. The screen protector will have a watery look when the iPad is not on but you see none of this when using the iPad. It's just part of having a built in screen protector which is a must have. Now like any new otterbox case, it can be a little hard to open the first time you open it. But look at the directions included and it is simple once you realize what to do. Once the iPad is in, it's a very secure fit. The hard shell cover that comes with the case is great. It adds protection when packing your iPad for travel and has a built in stand for watching videos. Truly a great feature. Members of my family also have iPads but didn't want to pay the money when there were budget cases available. Those cases all failed in short order. There is no question otterbox is the best when it comes to protecting your electronics. I've used otterbox cases since the iPhone 3 and iPad 2. They are rock solid and worth every penny.

I have several Otterbox Defender cases and this is the only one that is not straight across the top. The top right and left corners are notched, exposing the screen saver there. Also, where the screen saver is exposed at the corners there is a small round hole punched in the screen saver. The holes in the screen saver are small, but the iPad's bezel is exposed there. This is an odd and distracting design. All of my other Otterbox Defender cases completely surround the bezel and any cutouts are in the polycarbonate shell and not the screen protector. I recently purchased the Otterbox Defender for the new iPad Pro 2,12.9". This case is designed correctly. Square frame completely surrounding the bezel with the cutouts in the polycarbonate. Great case. Had this case looked like the 9.7" pro case, I would not have purchased it. I would have gotten another brand. I hope in the future, Otterbox sticks to there tried and true design and not this aberration.

When I purchased the case, I was originally concerned that I may need to remove the clear plastic protector over the screen in order to make sure the Apple pen will work. However, when I performed a writing test using the Apple pen with and without Otter Box's clear plastic protector, I found no difference in the quality of the writing. Furthermore, with or without the protector, I could write all of the way out to the edges of the screen, and there was no delay in how quickly the writing appeared on the screen. The case is well made, and the protector fits flat against the Apple iPad Pro's screen.

This new otter box doesn't fit my iPad - the side buttons (the volume cannot be accessed. I stopped by the ATT store to be sure that I had purchased the correct style and confirmed I have an iPad Pro- so this otter box is useless to me and I did not keep the packaging nor the receipt once I saw that it cleared my bank account. Worthless ....

The stand works nicely. The screen protector seems to work fine. I haven't purchased the Apple Pencil yet to give a review on the attached holder on the stand but I plan to purchase the Apple Pencil soon to put the attached holder to use. The color very berry is beautiful especially for the Rose Gold iPad color. This case is perfect! I highly recommend it.

I have a OtterBox for my iPhone 6 and I knew I needed to order quickly for the iPad. There were only two choices, which was black or burgundy with pink. I was reluctant on the pink color on the inside shell, but when I received it, I fell in love with the two colors. I am thrilled about the case and colors. I love the peace of mind OtterBox gives me and it's so much fun to use. There is no other product that can compete with OtterBox. Thank you OtterBox for such a great and beautiful case, I love it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn’t fit After 20 minutes of trying, I realized it just doesn’t fit the new iPad 9.7”. The iPad is too thick for this case and I can only assume it’s meant for an “older” 9.7” iPad? From a consumer standpoint, Otterbox will have to refit this case for the new iPad 9.7”.

The port covers are great protectors and won't ever rip and/or fall off from wear and tear. My screen is fully protected from any scrapes or cracks. I love how my apple logo is able to be seen.

The first time I let my daughter use it, I noticed a couple of dents in the window. I am so sad about this!!! I think it is attractive to children because it acts like a kind of drum area. Hope that makes sense. Other than that, I love the case :

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Like a Charm! I bought this in Very Berry a couple of weeks ago for my brand new rose-gold IPad Pro. Works like a charm. I've dropped it a couple of times and it's kept my device fully protected. The only downside is that you have to remove the outer most layer of the case to use the kickstand to prop up the device. It's an extra step I'd rather not have to take, but it works nonetheless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not for everyone I have had an iPad 3, iPhone 3, iPhone 5 in an otter box defender case. Pretty much the same case. The iPad pro case has some issues. The cover/stand is really hard to remove when it's used as a cover. Must have been a Monday batch. All of my other iPad cover/stand's stand bracket broke and I'm worried this one will break as well. Also, the Touch ID has difficulty detecting my fingerprint. If I didn't have little kids trying to destroy my stuff and constantly traveling I wouldn't recommend this case.

The only complaint is being able to plug the power cord in. The hard needs a groove cut in it otherwise you have to take the back off the case to plug it in. It also needs a groove cut in for rage speakers. Gave 5 stars as it provides great protection.

This Defender case is the best protective case I have ever seen for an electronic device. A Handyman job can be like a small construction site and my guys are constantly laying the iPad around the job site. I have not had one failure of an iPad since I encased them with the Defender case. When your devices are in a rough and tumble environment I highly recommend the Defender case to keep them safe from breakage.

When we updated one of our iPads, we purchased an Otter box for it, also. Screen cover works well with the pen. My wife dropped it when getting out of the car and it worked like advertised. I affixed a glass screen saver so I removed the clear plastic top cover and used adhesive remover to clean off excess adhesive and then I washed it with warm soapy water. It looks great! The case itself was really great . Sturdy and well built with the new design and newly added grip on the sides adding a really nice touch. My only complaint is on the top of the case it seems that the audio holes were not cut out fully like the bottom. But besides that the case is excellent as expected from otterbox !

While it maintains the rugged qualities you have come to expect from the Defender series, they have succeeded in making the case thin enough as to not burden the user and take away from the experience of the iPad Pro. I love this case.

I have NEVER had an incident resulting in so much as a smudge on any of my devices. While more costly than other cases I would not even consider using anything other than Otterbox Defender. When you decide to sell or trade in your device it will emerge as pristine as the day you bought it. I have absolutely zero financial interest in Otterbox or its affiliates. But I wish I did.

However, the inside of the screen protector has developed gray spots on many areas. The spots were not there when I began using my iPad with the case installed. It is very distracting.

This case is lighter, sturdier (somehow), easier to install, and has far better functions. I like the two-angle tilt option, and my iPad seems to remain in place, even with some jostling. Protection from drops is typical for Otterbox – I've had three iPhone cases throughout the years – and I'm confident my iPad is safe. Outer rubberized-casing is easy to grip, and the case holds well in the hands – far better than the cheap case I had used prior to Otterbox. In the end, my Otterbox costs four times what I paid for the cheap case I purchased as a stopgap; however, my Otterbox's functions, protection and overall quality more than justify the higher cost. If you use your iPad frequently, and if you can afford it, buy this case and don't wast your time and money on a $20-$25 case. My only regret is that Otterbox did not make this case available until well after this iPad model was launched.

Getting it on was easy enough, but taking it off is a bit of a pain. I love everything about this case, though. I have a 2 year old and I no longer worry about him possibly breaking my iPad. The only thing that I'm iffy about is the two small holes at the top of the screen protector. They will allow dirt to enter into it and since it's a pain to remove the case, it could be an issue. The color is fantastic (Very Berry in my case...pun intended and I love to see the pink surrounding my iPad. The case may have been pricey but it's definitely worth it. The case fits perfectly in every regard. Highly recommended.

I have had two other Otter boxes before on different phones. One phone was dropped down two flights of concrete stairs. I thought for sure I would be buying a new smart phone. Not so... my Otter box protected the phone from any damage at all. My last phone purchase of course got a Otterbox as well and it too survived a rough ride. I left it on the back of my Harley. I drove off with it on the rear fender, and fell off on the street at probably 25 MPH. The protective case was scraped but the phone again was not damaged in the least. When I just purchased my new I-Pad Pro, I wanted the same protection for it. There were cheaper cases for sale but you get what you pay for and I wanted Otter Box protection for my equipment!

Very hard to fit my iPad Pro into the case & I can see and hear a double tap coming from the protective screen of the OB and the iPad screen. Granted, every mfg can have a bad batch, but after 30 plus OBs, I know how they fit. I just haven’t gotten around to returning this one.

I've got two things I wish they would fix with this case. this case does not come with any kind of clip or on the hard plastic case. there is also a thin plastic cover over the home button that is very flimsy and easy to tear or break.

Today, I opened the box and carefully removed the case and opened up a new iPad that has not been touched yet. I was a a bit disappointed to see some "grit" here and there on the protective case and it looks like some was on the inside where the apple logo shows. I did not see this until after I enclosed the iPad. The Otterbox is a major pain to open so I will let it be. I have broken my nails on other Otterboxes I have for my children's iPads. Other than that minor issue, I absolutely love that the case includes a stand for movie watching or just for a different angle for viewing. In reference to my children's iPad cases, I can attest that the iPads have fallen and have been thrown and as far as I know, there is no internal damage to the iPad. The protective screen is the best so far. The buttons and covers all work perfectly offer tremendous protection. The cover/stand is great but is a little snug getting on and off.

One thing I did notice that bothered me was when using it as a stand it sits up more straight and is snug as opposed to my iPad 4 Otterbox case. I personally like more of a slight lean when watching things on it.

All of the pieces of this defender case fit perfectly and does not inhibit any of the functionality of my iPad Pro. Fast shipping and easily assembled, I've been using my Defender now, for approximately 3 weeks and though OtterBox has an excellent warranty, I do not anticipate any issues with my case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good case I am an Otterbox fan. I purchased a 7+ case on the heals of upgrading my 6+ phone. The 6+ case was better suited for the international traveler. There was a recessed space in the hard case deep enough to tape cell phone chips inside without fear of scratching the phone. The7+ does not have this feature forcing me to move the chips to between the soft case and hard shell - a less secure place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Otter Defender!! Purchased another brand first, returned same day. The defender in compareson is by far a better product. The defender screen fits perfectly, and installing was so much easier than the first one I bought. Plus you know if it's dropped it's going to survive . I also have a defender for my iPhone, I've had to replace the silicon cover because I'm so hard ruff with it, but it has never failed me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Protection Product for an iPad I have owned Otterbox products for the last 9 years and they have done a fantastic job protecting our smartphones. Based on that, I ordered a unit to protect an iPad Pro and at this time I would strongly recommend this product if you intended to use it for work in the field. This unit is replacing the original covers from Apple which due to heavy use were coming apart after 3 years of daily use. The Otterbox for sure would have outlasted the Apple cover, works well with is own stand and other alternate stands but the overall combined weight of the unit is just too much to carry with one hand.
