Fortunately when I called technical service, I received guidance from a patient tech service rep who diagnosed my problem and recommended a new coil cord. The cord arrived timely and works fine. The quality was great once we realized which headset and necessary coil cord would work with the cisco 7942. It has spared the rest of the office unwanted noise and distraction. No complaints from the user is good enough for me!

The rep at customer service suggested this piece to make the headset compatible with the Cisco 7420 phone, it works perfect! The sound quality is very smooth and nice without crackling, echoes or feedback. Great advice!
