RAD’s RICi-4T1 is a network termination unit (NTU) for deploying both Mid-band Ethernet services and Fast Ethernet services over four T1 circuits. These devices bridge the bandwidth gap between E1/T1 and E3/T3, employing Multi-Link PPP (MLPPP) bonding to create a scalable, virtual large pipe from individual E1/T1 circuits.
Mid-band Ethernet and Fast Ethernet services support a large variety of applications, including Transparent LAN, direct Internet access and Ethernet private lines. Other typical applications include:
• IP DSLAM and cellular IP base station backhauling
• Inter-office or enterprise LAN connection
Widely deployed in point-to-point or hub-and-spoke topologies, RAD’s RICi NTUs for Mid-band Ethernet services work opposite RAD’s Egate-100 channelized Ethernet gateway.
