Great Bag would give 5 Stars but Zipper broke.
Best Backpack I ever had, however the Zip broke after a year. I am having a hard time trying to get it repaired. I have brought two other Backpacks as replacements, but this Bag is by far the best. I could have saved money just ordering another one.

Great work backpack
I use this backpack for work purposes. I travel 80 to 90 percent with my job and this is a great backpack for traveling. It easily fits overhead or under the airplane seat. It is sturdy and comfortable on my shoulders and back. I love the suitcase handle on the back. It holds all of my goods including a portable monitor and laptop. The cushioned laptop pocket keeps my laptop and portable monitor protected from bumps. It has a sturdy handle so that I can hang it on bathroom stalls without worrying about the weight of the backpack breaking the handle. I only wish it had more zippers/pockets to hold items, especially smaller items. It has only 2 small pockets and then the main pocket and laptop pocket.

Excellent for the business traveler
This is a great backpack for business travel. Well organized compartments for Laptop access and when going through TSA. Convenient strap to use with roller suitcase handles to secure the backpack.

A solid back pack that can carry its own
I do have the original Tectonic backpack and I LOVE IT. It's very comfy under heavy loads, roomy, pockets for gadgets and the headphone pocket is huge. Unfortunately, the pocket area is about to rip so I've taken it to a Samsonite store to evaluate it whether the damage is a warrantied item.
I bought the Tectonic 2 in the meantime and compared to its big brother, I must say I still prefer the Tectonic backpack. The T2 seems slightly smaller, Non-TSA friendly laptop storage area (zipper does not fully open all around), much smaller gadget/headphone compartment. However, the main compartment seems larger than its predecessor and the bottom appears to be contoured so the backpack sits on the floor. This appears to be solid with the ballistic fabric and the true test will be six months from now.
As for the Tectonic that was in the store for warranty evaluation, they just ended giving me a new one so now I have a spare one. I'll use this for the summer since I have a little more stuff to carry around. Overall, Samsonite has always met its obligations in warranty issues and from luggage to backpacks, they've never disappointed me.

I loved it, I would buy it again
I bought this backpack for my brother, so he can go to school with it. He asked me for a backpack who had a lot of space and lightweight. And when I finally had it in my hands it was what I really asked for.
Actually I would buy this backpack for myself as well because I can use it in travels and for business.

Tectonic 2 Large Backpack
I use this backpack to organize and carry all my business needs that includes laptop, documents, tools, cords, chargers ... It has compartments for each. Best is the easy in out for laptop so when traveling through an airport I can easily dig out the laptop for screening. This is my second one as I wore out the first one after many years of hard use. Only thing that wore out was the left shoulder strap since I sometimes one arm carry and a zipper finally gave out ...

Sturdy?
I like the bag but, as a graduate student I use the bag to carry heavy books, laptop, papers, water bottle etc.--daily--to and fro the campus and I'm afraid, the bag is just not sturdy enough, it feels.

Heavy but good quality
It's heavy and thick, so it feels like you can't put too much stuff like max. for two days clothing. But it's good quality and can fit 17" laptop. It's also bulky.

Perfect bag for working
Great cost-benefit for working bag. Nevertheless, for personal use is more limited. You wont be able to carry volume (jackets, tennis shoes...) items besides flat items (e.g. books, laptop...)
