The 3M Scotch Dual Lock Fastener is designed for hanging indoor decor and support in organizational and art projects. This self-adhesive hook-and-loop fastener can also be used for holding down tarps outdoors, hanging outdoor décor on siding and fences and more. The heavy duty UV resistant re-closable fastener stays in place even when wet or dirty. It has the ability to last for 1000 closures for convenience.

I bought these to mount 2 small speakers inside a motorcycle helmet, because they looked like they would hold the speakers in place more securely than regular velcro. Mounted the speakers, and everything was going great, until the other day. It was a nice spring day, but apparently too hot because it caused the glue on the strips to melt to the point that when I pulled off my helmet, the same way I'd done hundreds off times before after I put the speakers in, both speakers fell out like there was nothing holding them in place at all. If 1 set can hold 6 pounds (according to the packaging then if it's cut into three 1" squares, each one should hold 2 pounds, and I know each speaker weighs less than 1 pound, so the strips didn't fail from trying to support too much weight. So although I do like the design of the locking feature of the strips, the glue backing isn't good enough to withstand warm temperature before losing strength. I've used regular velcro on the speakers since, and they're not as secure at holding the speakers in place when I put the helmet on or take it off, but the glue on the velcro is so stuck on after higher temperatures, that I don't think I'll be getting it off with any ease and without a lot of time.

When I received it, I knew that it would work perfectly for adhering my toll pass to my windshield of my new car. The Scotch® Extreme Fasteners withstand the fluctuating temperature of the windshield and the pass being frequently put up and taken down when not in use. I have some strips left over and am looking forward to experimenting with it in other ways. I highly recommend this product.

I had the shawdow box but didn't want to damage my walls these worked perfect and are holding really well.

What an amazing product! I'm a teacher and I am always trying to find something that works well to hang wall files, anchor charts, and other teaching materials. Often the products I use just give out after a day or two ... but the Scotch Extreme Fasteners are awesome! Each set of fasteners can hold up to 6 pounds! I am currently using them to store all of my daily materials - I have a separate bin for each day of the week - these ultra strong fasteners attach easily to the back of my file bins and to the surface of a cabinet behind my desk - all of my daily materials are within reach at all times, and the bins are secure - they don't wobble or slide, they hold tight and keep my workspace neat and organized!! LOVE these!

I used it to hang a sign on an office door at work that serves as an overflow office a few days a month. So far, so good. Adhesive is holding. Sign is not that heavy though. Not sure how it would do with something heavier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thick and Sturdy This ended up being perfect to hang a wooden sign outside our door to show our unit number. Our door has a metal screen door in front of it so it hides our unit number. I bought a small wooden sign with our unit numbers on it but needed a way to attach to our door. These Scotch Extreme Fasteners were perfect for the job. There is a roof over our door so it won't get the extreme elements but being outside requires some strength. These are thick and sturdy and appears to hold up very well. I highly recommend this product.

These strips are super strong, they hold up to 2lbs per set of 2 and you can relax knowing that they won't tear up your walls! I love not having to use nails to hang stuff up. I have several teacher friends and they are always hanging things up but don't like having to patch holes so I always tell them about these type of strips. I will have to buy more for sure!

Got a sample of this and it works great for attaching the E-Z Pass we have in the vehicle. Makes it easy to exchange it back and forth between our vehicles that we have registered. Looking forward to using it outdoors for easy installation and removal. Like that it holds up well to removing and reapplying. Does not shed like Velcro. Will definitely be using this product for a lot of things.

These fasteners work extremely well for those situations in which you need to hold something strong without using nails. They can be used indoors or out and will hold up to 10 lbs. I used them inside to hold up a picture on a wall on which I didn't want to put nail holes. Installation was easy and the picture is still holding! I also used these outside on my porch to hold a decorative item and it worked perfectly.

I used them to put up a a 24" x 18" white board/cork board combo and they work great!! it's easy to take the board down if I have a lot I want to write on the board as it is easier to do it on a flat horizontal surface instead of when it is hanging on the wall!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally outdoor strong! I chose this item because I love to decorate especially during holidays. Wreaths, swags,lights etc... I used this (properly preppingon my front door for a wreath hook as I always have a seasonal wreath of some kind. My front door is directly exposed to the elements so rain, snow, direct sun and freezing temps wreak havoc on regular adhesives and screws and nails that rust an are unattractive. This has been up for a month and we've had torrential rains. It is holding strong and feels solidly in place. So far very secure,my wreath is about 3 lbs. Very happy with this product as a permanent solution for my outdoor needs, where permanence is preferred.

I am a crafter and there are times I sell my crafts at shows that are outside and when the wind blows so do my signs and my crafts. I used the Scotch Extreme Fasteners at my last show that we dubbed the Mud Fest due to rain and wind. I was so glad I used these fasteners. Other crafters wanted to know what I was using to stay dry. I can't wait to try these fasteners camping. Run don't walk to get yours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glue I like the way these fasten and unfasten. But the glue tape is weak. Has low tensil strenth. The loops hold good while the tape gives away if subject to a steady pull. But not all the time. Please research your glue a bit more. Thx!

It has been working better than anything else I've tried and seems like a strong grip. I haven't "put it to the test" though in some of the uses mentioned on the packaging - so I can't speak to how it holds up in outdoors/weather or for hanging heavier items. I received a sample of the product from 3M.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! These are so amazing! I have a plastic bag holder, which is plastic, and often stuffed full of grocery bags. I used the double-sided sticky tape it came with and attached to the inside of my cabinet but it kept falling off. When your constantly pulling out bags it creates a pull on the holder & that tape couldn't handle it. I used the Scotch Extreme Fasteners instead and this thing is not going anywhere! It is stuck to the cabinet & doesn't wiggle. These work!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Misleading packaging I got a package of these to attach two halves of a project together and wanted something a little more heavy-duty than Velcro. The front of the package says (in 2 places) "Holds 10 lbs"; however the back of the package with the usage instructions, it says to hold 6 lbs., to use 1 set. The package includes 2 sets, so shouldn't the front say "Holds 12 lbs” instead of only 10? 6 × 2 = 12. Other than that, awesome product!

I always use wall hooks and fasteners all the time to hang jewelry, belts, scarves and so much more. I found these fasteners to be very innovative. I was impressed on how much weight they could hold. I used these to successfully hang an 8 x 10 frame on my daughter's bedroom wall.

I have a very curious cat that loves to open the kitchen cabinet doors. My cabinets are old, so they're easy to open, but since I used the fasteners, the problem is now solved, much to her dismay. I will definitely buy these, and recommend them to anyone.
