Rated 5 out of 5 by from Breaks quickly I am a teacher and love to have a laminator to use in a quick pinch. The great thing about this is that it doesn't jam. The terrible feature is that it breaks rather quickly. I've gone through two already and need to find a new one. Both times the laminator wouldn't heat up anymore after about 15 uses, which isn't much! Very disappointing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2 defective devices I purchased my first scotch laminator (TL901 over 8 years ago. It still works fairly well, but the reverse lever needed to be taped down because it doesn't stay on it's own. Since I use hot laminators frequently, I decided to purchase the TL906 a little over a year ago. All of a sudden it stopped working. I've tried to plug it into various outlets and it won't even turn on. I am a teacher and I use this device regularly, so I ended up buying a replacement. The second time I used the device, it was malfunctioning. There was a crease in all of my laminiations and it appears as if a wire or part has moved internally, causing the issue. I tried e-mailing customer service over a week ago to make them aware of these issues and I have not heard back from them AT ALL. I've had to return the laminator. I loved my first laminator so much and it lasted so long. I wish I could highly recommend this product, but with the issues I've been having in the past year alone, I may just need to find a new brand.

We used this less than 20 times and it suddenly stopped working half way through laminating. I was able to turn it on and finish the page, but now it wont turn on at all. So disappointing.

The machine has not heated up. Won’t laminate anything. Total waste of money. Can’t find anything on troubleshooting and followed the directions perfectly. I’ve tried numerous times and waited until it shut off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed I bought this product in September of 2018. It stopped working in January of 2019. It heats up, if it even turns on. I wait for the “Ready” light to turn green. A sheet goes part way through the laminator and the laminator shuts off. This happens whether it’s the first sheet or the fifth. So disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Horrible do NOT buy I bought one of these laminators to use for my classroom. I used it 3 times then I went to use it again and it wouldn’t turn on. I took it back and exchanged it and I turned that one on and in the middle of laminating it jammed. I put the lamination in correctly and did everything right. I do not understand how a NEVER jam technology can jam when you follow the directions. I will be taking this back and will never buy another scotched brand laminator, I will find one that actually works and is well worth my money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quit Working Worked great for about a month, (This was bought in the middle of July) then the rollers quit rolling the pages through. The machine would not even heat up. Several times I could unplug the laminator and then turn it back on and it would work again, but not even 2 months after purchase it quit working. I am now contacting the company to see if they stand behind their product. Being in education I cannot afford to purchase a new laminator ever month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved It For only 3 months It worked great and I loved laminating both in 3 and 5 mil. They have held up great. Unfortunately, I went to laminate on Sunday (after only having it for three months and using it infrequently during that time and it absolutely conked out. I think it overheated even though I was on the second page I tried laminating. It kept getting hotter. I powered it off and unplugged it to let it cool down. Now it won't turn on. Absolutely disappointing that it broke so quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Troubleshooting help I have had good success with this laminator for several weeks. Yesterday morning it worked fine. I unplugged it and it cooled off. In the afternoon, I plugged it back in and hit the power button. The power button and the 3 mil lights were lit as usual. BUT, the "anti-jam" light was on and the laminator sounded like it does when a sheet is being fed through it. It is usually silent while heating up. It quickly has a "hot smell" to it. I tried the jam release lever but that didn't do anything. There doesn't appear to be any kind of jam with it. I have tried 3 times to call the customer service line (during business hours) and I keep getting the message "we are currently closed" and the call ends. Not sure what to do next.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Machine But.... This is a great machine. I absolutely love it. It works well and gets the job done. However, once it gets dust inside or you pass a card through with undried glue, there is no way to clean it. So keep it covered. I would give it a 5-star rating if there was a way to clean it. So if you have only had it for a month or 2 years once it gets dirty inside, it no longer works the same. It causes the laminated pages to have ridges.

I reviewed many laminators before deciding to go with this one, even though I did not have to pay for it. I'm a teacher, and wanted to laminate at home. I love this model! It is everything I need. My projects/papers turn out great and it is easy to use.

I wish I would have read the reviews here (instead of on Amazon where I purchased, which many have confirmed the same problem. Don't waste your money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not heating up I first opened it today. Tried using it but it won’t heat up. Green “ready” button krypton blinking for more than 20 minutes without hearing. On/off button was not responding at all. Tried to turn it off by unplugging from the outlet and a few more attempts with no luck. Total waste of time and money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Love Love I received this Laminator free to try, but if I had paid for it I would think it was money well spent. I love that it doesn't take up a lot of space and it stores easily. It is also very user friendly and easy to use. It works very well. I have only had one thing that was a bit thicker that I had to run through it twice. I love the settings and all of the different pouches that you can get to laminate things with. I highly recommend this product. It is well worth the money. Easy to set up, easy to use, works great, and easy to store; you can't get any better than that.

The last time I used it, one of the pouches got stuck 7/8 of the way through and there was no way to pull it backwards to get it out so I had to finish pulling it out. Now it won't turn on and has no easily accessible "reset" button.

It heats up really fast and so easy to use. I got so excited i just started laminating everything that I could think of. Thank you this is a great product, anyone who buys it will enjoy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stinks I purchase this a little over a year ago and laminated two automobile registrations and put it in the closet. Now, since it is one year later, I attempted to laminate, again the renewal registrations and the piece of junk would not pull the items into the unit. Since it is JUST over the year by about one week Scotch will do nothing about it. I know it's over a year so it's not covered but this is not worth the money.

Bj's has a great deal on this product and the laminate sheets as well. I'm obsess with laminating now thank you Scotch!!!!!

Mid-way through a sheet, it shut off with no warning. I unplugged it. Let it cool completely and then tried again. Will not turn on at all and it’s my first use. Very disappointed.

Today first day of school I plug in to use and the ready light never come on, it has been over an hour of waiting. With cover open then closed, then open again. And nothing. Don't waste your money and time.

After some research I found out it is on the rollers. Waste of money to only be able to use it a few times. Not happy at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I received the 3M-Scotcch Pro Thermal Laminator, Pouches and Bag Tags from 3M. As with all Scotch products I have used, I would like to say this product is also great and deserves the Scotch name. It is a nice compact size for the home and works very nicely with easy-to-follow directions. The lamination is very helpful to have for everything from library cards to newspaper clipping and documents. This is a wonderful addition to any home or office.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not last long For a pro laminator, this thing sure has issues. We owned ours for 6 months and it will not pull the sheets in any longer. Been through several brands of refills, checked the laminator input tray, nothing. It should not started out negative. When it worked, it worked very well. I just would have expected thks to last longer than 6 months.

Within 2 weeks of purchase, the machine refused to load in the laminating pouch. Occasionally, the machine leaves air bubbles and parts of the paper are not laminated. When the machine works, it does a great job, but it has not been functioning properly more and more frequently.

I went to use it today and it won't turn on. I am very frustrated the machine is brand new and I have only used it ONCE! I do not recommend this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from does not last I recently (like only a month ago) purchased this laminator to replace the last scotch laminator I had and it is already doing exactly what the other one started doing. It will laminate several pages and then the next one, it won't pull it through. This is the 2nd scotch pro that has done this. Apparently I should I read the reviews before purchasing the first one last summer. Extremely disappointed! As a teacher on a small budget, this is unacceptable to have to replace so often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Update for the Scotch Laminator 3M gave me a free sample of this product to try out and I was pretty stoked to put it thru its paces. Before receiving this free sample, I had been a long time user of one of Scotch's older laminator models (5 + years) and this latest model had a bunch of things that I really loved. The extra wide paper loading area made it easy to laminate scrapbooking pages and signs for the local school that I volunteer for that don't fit the standard 8 1/2 by 11 model. It also seemed to warm up a little faster than my previous model, was whisper quiet while the paper was being run thru the machine (my old model would whine a little) and the laminated products came out cool to the touch when they were finished being laminated. Having the product come out cool is a big plus for me as a mom because it made me feel comfortable that I could have my older son use this with no problem for school projects. The only small issue that I noted was the cool down time of the machine. It did seem to take longer than my older machine but overall, it wasn't anything that bothered me too much. Lastly, but certainly not unimportant, is the new look of the machine. Its pretty sleek and looks so good with my other Apple equipment in my office. I would definitely recommend this machine to anyone

Rated 5 out of 5 by from handy and easy to use 3M sent me a free laminator to try out, and I'm very impressed. It was easy to use, and I've found that it's handy for preserving all sorts of items. For example, I laminated a biking trail map for my husband, and it came out perfectly. I also tried it on luggage tags and other miscellaneous items. The unit did take almost up to 7 minutes to heat up, but once it was hot, I didn't have to wait to feed items into the laminator. Be prepared for the unit to start automatically feeding items through, so make sure your items, especially small ones like luggage tags, are positioned correctly before you attempt to insert into the laminator. I never considered owning a laminator at home until I tried it out, and now I'll be using it all the time.

However, since I have gotten the product I have had to replace it twice. The first time I replaced it the machine it was because it did not turn on. And now after maybe 3-4 uses at most, this machine won't turn on either. I'm so disappointment and now I have to hold off on laminating.

The constant problem I have is (looking at the front of the machine) when the lamination starts to feed into the machine the right corner constantly catches on something and folds over regardless of plain paper or photo. Attached are 3 photos of 3 different attempts at lamination. Do you have any suggestions for correction of this issue???

I have never been able to get the laminator to turn on again. I am very dissapointed with this product. I do however like the look of the product and if it were to work properly it would be a beneficial asset in my office.

I went to use it a second time and it refuses to feed at all. I looked on this site for trouble shooting answers ans there are none. I notice that there are quite a few bad reviews for the same problem I'm having. I also notice that the company is not offering solutions in this area. You can believe , this is the last Scotch product I ever purchase. Not even tape.

Used it once and laminated 3 sheets and went to use it today and the laminator started running immediately as if the auto-shutoff detected a sheet. Ran two sheets through and they laminated fine, but the machine would not stop running.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Recommend I received the 3M-Scotch PRO Thermal Laminator, 9", TL906, Scotch Thermal Laminating Pouches, Letter Size and the Scotch Thermal Laminating Pouches, Bag Tags with Loops for free from 3M. This is the best thing I have added to my home office ever. It is so easy to use and the directions are very easy to read and understand. The machine is compact and they even thought of a handy place for the cord storage. The laminator makes NO noise and operates extremely smooth. The finished product is a perfectly laminated document, ready to go. No running to the office supply store and spending money. Can be done right at home and to your specifications. I LOVE IT! This product would be great for home office, hobbies and school projects. Think of putting together a recipe book for yourself and for gifts. Easy to keep clean and looks professional. I would highly recommend this laminator and the accessories. Thank you 3M!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not recommended I bought this a little while ago and have only used once. I turned it on this weekend. I was able to do a couple pages then it stop heating up. I turned it off to see if turning it off would help it to heat up when I turned it back on. It turned on, made noise like it was laminating then turned off. I have waited a day and it still won't turn back on. I was happy to get this, but now I feel like it was a waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it the first time I used it! Then it died. This is kept on my office shelf. I absolutely loved it the first time I used it!! The feeding tray is perfect, the sheets fed quickly and smooth, and it was such an improvement over the previous laminator I owned. I was so happy I spent the extra money to get a PRO edition laminator. But then the next time I plugged it in to use, the blinking ready light came on and I fed the pouch and sheet through the machine and it came out cold and not laminated. I tried a different outlet in the building but the machine will not heat up or power on, and it's no longer laminating--so sad!

It allows me to laminate only a couple of sheets back to back, then will not allow me to load anymore. It appears to "jam" and does not allow anything to go through.

Needed to do some laminating, unit does not want to turn on. I do see the power light flash, but then it goes immediately off. Anyone know how to fix this?
