The U444-06N-H4GU-C USB 3.1 Gen 1 USB-C to HDMI DisplayPort Alternate Mode External Video Adapter supports USB DisplayPort Alternate Mode for displaying audio/video signals on an HDMI monitor, television or projector via your computer, laptop or tablet's USB-C port. It's an ideal tool for multitasking, editing documents, giving presentations at trade shows and conferences, or watching movies and playing video games.

No software, drivers or external power supply is needed. Connect the adapter's USB-C male plug to the USB-C port on your device. Then, connect the adapter's female HDMI port to a monitor using an HDMI cable (such as Tripp Lite's P568-Series) to enjoy full HDMI video and audio. The U444-06N-H4GU-C supports Ultra High Definition (UHD) video resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 (4K x 2K) at 30 Hz.

The U444-06N-H4GU-C includes an RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port. Connect to a network with a UTP cable, such as Tripp Lite's N201-Series Cat6 cables, and enjoy true 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet speeds.

The USB 3.1 hub port connects USB-A peripherals, such as a thumb drive or printer. It's backward compatible with previous USB generations, and supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps.

The USB-C charging port supports power input up to 20V 3A (60W). It powers the device that the U444-06N-H4GU-C is plugged into, as well as a peripheral plugged into its USB-A port, by connecting the charging port to a USB-C wall charger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, well built, and it just works... I acquired a Tripp Lite U444-06N-H4GU-C for use with a Apple MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) running High Sierra (10.13.3). The build quality of the adapter is solid; it feels well made and durable. It was super simple to use; just plug it in and off you go. Charging of the MacBook Pro via the adapter worked; the system has three free USB-C connections to charge "natively", so using this adapter to charge is not likely on my system. USB 3.0 worked perfectly and so did the physical Ethernet port. I didn't have a 4K capable monitor handy, but I tested the video support on my 4K TV. Everything looked as it should; using the TV as a second display was simple and worked as you would expect. This is going to replace two expensive adapters (an Ethernet to USB-C and a Apple branded HDMI/USB to USB-C).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior alternative to a USB-A to Ethernet adapter While a little bit on the pricey side, IMO, this is a very versatile adapter. Works especially well for many of our mobile devices such as the MS Surface tablet and various PCs that no longer come with built-in Ethernet ports. Extremely easy to use, truly Plug-n-Play, and I can really appreciate the added USB-C charging port that allows me to continue to charge my phone while doing double-duty as an HDMI or Ethernet adapter. While I don't use the USB 3.0 port, I typically have plenty of those on my PCs, it nice to have it there as an option. I have loaned mine out to several individuals and always have to let them know they can purchase their own just like I did when they ask if they can keep it. Have already recommended this to quite a few folks and I have only received positive feedback.

Also, since I travel for work, I can also hardwire my laptop to a TV at the hotel with an HDMI cord to use as a larger monitor if I want. Overall, very useful adapter!!
