poor support
Don't have a CD player in my laptop. Tried for hours to down load drivers from on line. Hard to find. Manual also hard to find. 3 days later still not working. Wish I had gone with someone else.

VISIONEER - OR - DELL - OR - XEROX, WHICH IS IT? ? ? ?
I ordered this product from Dell on-line store, the scanner is Xerox, the software is Visioneer. The hardware or the scanner itself is really outstanding, a good quality piece of equipment, but this is where praise stops. The software drivers and Paperport 14 "SUCKS." I have used Visioneer Strobe since the mid 90's so my experience with this product is extensive. Those of you who think the current drivers and operating software are state-of-the-art should use Visioneer Ver-10 or 9 in concert with a Visioneer 220 scanner and then see if you still hold to the same opinion. Just one catch though, the earlier versions will not work with Win-10 and hiccups with Win 8.1 Pro, this is the reason for the purchase - forced upgrade, otherwise I would still be using it. Tech support is on the ball, outstanding, but cannot address software programming issues. Example: When I scan 25 double sided pages, the pages are all mixed-up. Sorry no, I can not recommend this product at present. If you wish, I will be more than happy to express in detail the issues with you software to the engineers, my email is listed below. Semper-Fi.

good and bad
Works well overall. I like it. There was a problem with the included software, so I gave up and just use the built-in Windows Fax/Scan program. Also, I have trouble getting it to turn on sometimes. USB issue it would seem.

This is a good little scanner with lots of added features
This took a little learning on my part due to my unfamiliarity with the Nuance PDF program, but I've been messing with it and understand it much better now. There are also YouTube videos out there that will help you with what you want to know. If you want a scanner that you don't have to open up and lay each sheet in to scan it, this is the one for you!

Easy to use
Great for documents. Was hoping to also use for photos, but even at max resolution, they come out scanned comically poorly (can't even tell what is a face or not.

Confused
It worked great until recently, when the software lic ended. Now the computer doesn't recognize the device rendering it useless, in an attempt to force me to by a updated model.
I'm not sure why I can't reinstall the software from the DVD that came with it. The software should be perpetual for the life of the device.

Incompatibility
Incompatible with my mac book air with the M1 chip.Trying to connect it on my Mac the following message always returns as: "Failed to to open a connection to the device (-21345)". I have tried to reset my connection with no result. Any suggestion in order to avoid this issue?

No Driver for Mac M1 MacOS 11
If you own this product, you cannot use it with any of the 2020 or 2021 Macbook Pro or Macbook Air laptops.
