Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Laptop Bought this laptop for my wife, to replace her old Core I5 desktop. This is a superb laptop, very fast with its 5-core Ryzen processor. Swapped SSD with a 500GB and bumped memory to 16M and this thing is considerably faster. Also, this thing isn't loaded up with bloatware, so it runs very well right out of the box. I reimaged it with Win10 Pro instead of Home, for more security. Bought a USB-C dock station to clean up the cables, discovered that the USB-C port doesn't push external video. Be aware of that if you intend to use the USB port for external video.

If you use Google apps such as sheets and documents, this device will likely have what you need for creating assignments and browsing the web. I appreciate the integration of parental controls through Google’s family link and the year of accidental damage coverage through Asus. Bear in mind that this device is smaller than your standard laptop so the keyboard might be hard for people with large hands to use.

We are receiving a warranty extension from ASUS for our feedback: Our old laptop finally crashed on us yesterday and we were looking for an inexpensive, basic laptop because we very rarely used our previous one. This one checked all of our boxes and the price was on point for our budget so we went for it. We are very pleased with it so far! The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is due to the fact that we've had it less than a day, so only time will tell...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great to use I love how light weight it is and how much I can do on it. I can surf the internet easily. My son can play roblox on it (although he says it's glitchy?). I get on facebook and watch movies. I have had zero problems with it so far. I love the fact that I can work on document and then quickly take my work with me. It is lighter than a book and it is awesome. I put an SD card in so I can save things to the computer as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great screen at a great price My new ASUS has a STRIKINGLY better screen than my last chromebook - clarity, contrast, and detail seem much enhanced. Keyboard feel is quite good with precise action while typing. USB-C power receptacle seems a great advance over pin-types, the downfall of my last chromebook. Screen also seems much sturdier when folding notebook with no detectable wobble. Very pleasing laptop to use. My son works for Intel so the processor is a plus, but I am very biased in that area. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value for the money. My phone and computer usage is heavily centered on the Google ecosystem. For example, I always keep my documents stored in Google Docs, so that I can get to them from anywhere, and so that I don't have to worry about backing up my computer. When my Mac desktop died, found this Chromebook at Best Buy for about a hundred bucks, and with 2 years of software updates coming. I've always wanted to try one, and this seemed like a low-risk opportunity. Almost all of my computer activity these days is done via a web browser, and this machine can handle all of those tasks just fine. After I adjusted the scroll direction, it's just about like using my Mac. For a hundred bucks, I can really do everything I need to do. I expect to stick with Chromebooks for the foreseeable future. The laptop itself is very small and lightweight. There are a couple of minuses, though, that you should be aware of. "Small and lightweight" is both a virtue and a shortcoming. The screen is small, with a large bezel. The plastic case and its keyboard feel cheap and flimsy, especially when compared to the satisfying rigidity and heft of an all-aluminium MacBook. But for $100, I still feel like it's a great value, and perfectly usable. The second shortcoming is a relatively grainy camera. You won't look as good as your colleagues in your next Zoom meeting. Again, still usable, though. The third shortcoming is a relative lack of processing power. For almost everything I do, this is not an issue - there's plenty for word processing, web browsing, video watching, etc. There's not quite enough for a smooth Zoom experience, though. People tell me there's a bit of video lag from my end. Again, I can Zoom, but it's just not as smooth as I'd like. Overall, I got a dirt cheap computer that lets me do everything I need to do. I'm happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from finally got it working Right out of the box, it would not charge or power on. I had to hard reset (hold refresh button and click power key) before it would power on. After powering on, it still had issues charging until I did a few more hard resets. Now it’s working just fine. It’s fairly quick surfing the internet and works fine for streaming movies. It does the very minimal tasks that I need it to do. Screen looks good and is matte finish. Build quality feels good, but touchpad is touchy…it sometimes doesn’t accept touches but it always accepts clicks. Purchased as a cheap travel computer that won’t upset me if it gets stolen or broken. Full disclosure…I am receiving a warranty extension from ASUS for this feedback.

The only item I would have liked to see is a longer power cord. I travel a lot and the cord is a bit too short for some places I am at. However over all an nice product.
