We were able to get everyone connected to it easily. It's friendly to use. It is also compact and quiet. The two year supply of ink is a great bonus.

My company closed our office and we had to begin to work at home and this printers quality is what I would expect when using our commercial printing resources.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid printer/scanner There are two of us using the printer throughout the day. My girlfriend's job requires a lot of printing and mine a lot of scanning. It prints fast in b/w and color. The only issue that I had was it was accidentally unplugged once and it was hard to get it reconnected for some reason and I had to completely reinstall everything which was weird as it was an easy setup out of the box. It was just the printer that I needed for my new business.

Great design and easy to set up. Very quiet and efficient. The screen is easy to see and navigate, the sideways tray keeps it compact. The scanner works very well and has great resolution. This is a great printer, fast with multiple feed paths and functionality. After having multiple Epsons, HPs and others, Brother finally got it right.

The setup on this printer/scanner/copier could not have been easier. Very straightforward on all setup including adding the toner and wifi setup. I didn`t really read the directions and it all hooked up/worked as you would expect it to if you have had any experience with setting up another system. I have three devices using the printer remotely and haven`t had one issue with printer or scanner function. Print quality is great and will allow me to now print all my marketing materials at home instead of sending projects out to a printer. Some prints are coming out a little off color, but it is most likely a calibration issue with my computer monitor instead of a printer issue. Overall, I am very pleased with the functionality of this product and feel like it is going to save me a lot of time and money on print projects while allowing me to scan, enhance, and print personal photos. The online template resource is also a great bonus.

This is a great all-in-one printer for everyday use. The product instructions were very straight forward and minimal. Setup took probably less than 15 minutes.My favorite features are the wifi capability and the ability to print ledger. The printer is set up in our home office on the lower level, and I am able to print from my phone 2 stories up which is a major convenience factor. Also, photo print quality is surprisingly good despite it not being a photo printer.The printer is also very quiet and prints quickly. This is a big plus as a mom of a newborn. The only downside is the massive size. Makes sense though, since this printer supports ledger size paper.

I am currently in the process of setting up my own freelance communications business and working from home, and when I first came across this Brother printer I thought it would suit my needs perfectly. After using the product for a week now, I am feeling confident that I was right and very happy with my choice! The printer is much heavier duty than a standard home 3-in-1, but not massive or intimidating like a giant office printer (and not thousands of dollars either. The color ink levels project I can print 3900 pages with each cartridge and the black projects 5400 pages (and there were two cartridges supplied for each color), so I should not have to refill them for a long time. Setup was extremely easy: you load the paper, plug it in, and then the touchscreen spells out exactly what to do from there. I have a Macbook Air and I easily connected to our home internet and had everything up and running in less than a half hour. I never had to plug in a single computer cord after the power was on.Mechanically, the printer seems very sturdy and solid. I`ve had past printers where the paper trays seem like something is going to snap each time you adjust it - and that is definitely not the case with this model. Changing from one size paper to another is a breeze and the guides slide smoothly. Also, pulling the paper tray out and putting it back in is smooth. And the touchscreen is responsive and the menu is logical - great to have so you don`t have to pull out your computer and dig into settings to make a minor page setup change or troubleshoot.Finally, and most importantly, print quality is great and the speed is huge improvement over my past lower cost printers. Word documents print quickly and cleanly, and while I haven`t attempted proper photo paper I was really impressed at how pictures turned out when I tested them. No streaks and true color.I think this is a great buy for the money because you get that happy medium that is often so hard to find. Lightyears beyond entry level home printers in quality and sturdiness, but not breaking the bank on unnecessary features. I definitely recommend.

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion.There are a lot of things that I like about this printer. First of all, the print quality for text is outstanding. There is never smeared ink or other issues. I have also been using it to print photos to frame and put on the walls. It does as good a job as any print shop I`ve been to. It has two paper trays, which I like because I like to keep regular printer paper in it but I also like to use it to print photos, envelopes, and stickers. This allows me to do that without having to pull out my normal printer paper. The printer came fully assembled and with two years worth of ink! This is great. I have used many printers over the years and have often found that it`s cheaper to replace the printer than it is to buy ink refills. That isn`t so with this one. The cartridges hold a lot of ink and will last me a long time. It is obviously not cheaply made. Where it does take up more real estate than other printers that I`ve had, it`s definitely worth it. I have a feeling it will last a long time as the quality is good and the workmanship is solid.

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion, that being said, I was very apprehensive at first when I received the printer because of it being an Inkjet printer rather than a laser printer. But to my surprise, the printer outperformed various different models of printers that I have had in my home office. Here are some highlights from Brother MFC-J6545DW XL InkJet that I believe make this printer standout:Pros:Ease of use. This printer was very easy to set up and being using after less than 15 minutes. Following the instructions on both the printer screen and the sheet provided made set up very easy.Multiple functions. The many different functions of this printer make it so much better than your standard printers. The wireless aspect make printing anywhere in your home or office a breeze, whether its from a PC, laptop, mobile device, or tablet. Another great feature is the ability to scan documents and wirelessly transmit them to any device right from the printer`s screen. And for those who still use fax, this printer does that as well.Print Quality. The print quality is surprisingly very good for an inkjet printer. Images and text come out clear and legible, as well as very fast.Cons:Size. This printer is big and bulky, not the most ideal printer for a home office unless you have the space for it. Also, as you may already be able to tell, it is a bit on the heavy side. Your average person will have no issue lifting this by themselves, but some of the older folk I would recommend they ask for assistance. Cost. It is a bit more expensive for an inkjet printer. I have had dozens of smaller inkjets that I have spent less far less than the cost of this printer, but what you make up in savings, you lose in functionality and quality. Also, the cost of ink is a bit more expensive than your average ink cartridge, but this printer claims to have ink that lasts for a year. It all depends on how much you`re printing of course.Overall, I highly recommend this printer for both an office setting and a home office. I believe because of the multiple features this printer provides, it well deserves to cost what it costs. The printer is very great quality and super easy to use.

Set Up: The printer is packaged well, reducing any possible damage in transit. It was quick to get out of the box. A quick start guide will tell you the steps to take to set up the printer properly. Connecting to a cell phone is very quick using the "Mopria Print" app. I always was easily able to connect to google print services for using the printer with a laptop to print wirelessly. Quick and easy set up!Printing: Printing from a cell phone or laptop has been exceptionally easy. Once the printer receives the information it will begin printing in a few seconds. The tray catches the papers as they come out so they don`t fall onto the floor. Copy: Copying is either done with the scanner portion or through the top feeder. Scanning was simple and came out with good clarity.Scanning: While only scanning several pages, they scanned easily and clearly.Fax: I did not use the fax portion of the printer.Issues: After printing several hundred pages, I have not run into any issues. Connectivity, print quality and speed have all been exceptional. I would recommend this printer for a small business, or even just for household use.

There are a lot of pros and a few cons with this unit.DELIVERY:This is a BIG piece of equipment- which isn`t a bad thing. Well packed and secured and unit itself is not as heavy as it looks. Also comes with a quick start guide, phone cable, software CD & 8 liquid ink containers - 4 starter and 4 long term containers.Right off the bat you realize why the unit is as big as it is. Once you load in the ink containers it sounds like the unit pumps them into internal reservoirs. **NOTE**: One thing you need to be aware of, there are STARTER ink containers which are TERRIBLY LABELED. The starter containers have A LOT LESS ink than long term containers. BE CAREFUL TO USE THE CORRECT CONTAINERS UPON INITIAL SETUP.USING THE UNIT:You can pretty much do everything from the Touch screen LCD. It`s bright, intuitive and gives you a small onscreen display for a quick status of the ink. Setup: After plugging in the unit it goes through an on (LCD) screen system setup where you install the STARTER ink containers and does some print & scan calibration. If can be physically connected to your router or wireless. Wireless setup is painless. Also software CD installed on my Windows 7 machine without issue.PRINTING: Paper can be loaded in bottom tray or inclined manual feed in the rear. One issue: for the size of the unit legal size paper needed the tray to be manually extended. Tray also has tabs for alot of flexibility for paper size .The quality is solid and FAST for single sided printing. If you want vibrant then you can change the settings and remove the ink saving feature.AUTO-DUPLEX PRINTING - My FAVORITE feature. I detest nothing more than manual duplex and was VERY curious to see how this worked. Printed out a 20 page double sided color intensive document. **NOTE**: It will take longer than auto duplex on a laser printer BUT it`s worth it.As it prints each page, the unit has a "drying" step in order to dry the ink to avoid smudging. Works extremely well. Document took 5-7 minutes to print but NO ink smudging or bleeding as they stacked on one another.Printing Photos: I am a "use Walgreens/Shutterfly/etc" person & too lazy to print photos. I tested it & to be frank, wasn`t impressed. Tried photo paper, regular paper & mucked around with the settings but the quality was ok at best.Scanning:The Good: A lot to like. The automatic document feeder (ADF) holds a good amount of paper & the flatbed can scan up to 11x17! Another reason why this is a large unit. Many models can`t scan that size.You can either scan from your computer & have it come to a folder, scan from the touchscreen & send it to the computer or scan and send it to a USB drive plugged into the unit. All 3 worked without an issue.The Bad: No duplex scanning through the ADF. I`ve used ADF scanners that will scan double sided but this will give you an error saying it is incapable. The ONLY way to do it is through the flatbed. Which means you scan 1 side, open up the lid, flip the page, scan the next. If it`s just a couple of pages then no big deal. But if a 10 or 20 page document will be very TEDIOUS.Copying:Straightforward and easy but the same issue if you`re trying to copy a double sided document. A single sided document just place in the ADF, select copy and you`re done. But if you need to perform a double sided copy you will HAVE TO use the flatbed scanner.Faxing:Straight forward. Add numbers to an address book, change paper size & resolution via the touchscreen and you`re ready to fax. The issue: NO option for a fax confirmation page to be printed.However it does offer 2-Sided faxing through the ADF!In conclusion its a very good not great unit. It`s a bit large in size but the main issue/question for me is how is 2 sided faxing available but 2 sided scanning and copying not available? To me thats a MAJOR miss on this unit. If there is one thing that keeps it from being perfect it`s the scanning\copying auto duplex.

When the box for this printer arrived I thought, there is no way this is going to fit in my office, so I was a bit nervous to set it up. While yes it is quite large (I have a bookshelf that I kept my previous printer on and this did not fit on my bookshelf) it is worth the extra table in my room to hold it. Not only is is fast, but the quality of what is printed looks like it was printed professionally. I work from home and frequently print several documents day and this printer helped me stay on task because I didn`t have to wait long for even my longer (20+) documents. The scanner feature was also a huge plus. I was able to wirelessly scan my documents to my googledrive which made it easy to find and share with others. The ink was easy to load and getting started with the printer was as easy as any other printer set up.

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. This printer is bigger than I expected but after realizing it can actually print, copy, scan and fax up to 11"x17" (A3 Ledger size which made it obvious why the machine is bigger than my another all in one printer. The set up was easy to follow and it took me 30 minutes to finish the set up. I was able to install and set up with an older version of Window 7 professional computer without any issue. The scanning and printing were fast and the quality was good. There was no streaking or smudging when printing black & white words documents or with full page color images. I was also able to print color images on couple of the 65 lb cardstock papers without any streaking. Navigating through menus with the color touch screen was clear and easy to proceed. With the Brother iPrint&Scan app installed on my Android phone, I can also access printing directly from my phone and the cloud storage. This machine also came with another year of ink included which should last me for a total of 2 years of printing. The ink was easy to install (it also came with a testing ink). Overall, I think this all in one printer is easy to set up, easy to use and preforming the jobs well. I would recommend this machine for small office and home offices.

I had been using a separate printer and scanner in my office and was looking for an all-in-one to streamline things.My favorite thing about this machine is how easily it printed, right after setup, wirelessly from both my laptop and iPad. I didn`t have to install or download any drivers it was immediately plug and play in terms of printing.I did have to download drivers in order to scan, but that`s per the setup instructions and all went exactly as described in the material provided in the box to get you started. Being on a Mac, I had to download the Brother iPrint app from the App Store, which involved the usual few steps (sign in to the App Store, our service agreement has changed, etc.) but though it was a multi-step process, everything went smoothly and quickly. Once the app was installed, the all-in-one immediately recognized my computer, and scanning was very easy. I especially liked how I could control, from the panel on the all-in-one, how to save the scan (as a JPEG, PDF, etc.). After scanning, a pop-up window on my computer immediately took me to the scan, instead of me having to search for it. Very high quality color scans (dpi is also easily adjustable from the control panel on the all-in-one).I don`t need the fax function and so didn`t configure the machine to fax. A phone cord and instructions for fax setup were provided in the box.This is sizable machine, weighing 40+ pounds, so it`s a more substantial all-in-one than I`ve used in other offices. Because my model is the MFC-J6545DWXL, it came not only with starter ink cartridges but with another full set of ink cartridges, which are a good size and feel solid when they lock into the machine, unlike the flimsy click you sometimes get with other inkjet cartridges. I`ve been very impressed with its performance and look forward to using it for some time to come.

Although the printer is a little larger than any I`ve had in the past, it`s features and ease of use make this printer a pleasure to own. The printer came packaged securely and the instructions provided users easy to follow. The ink was also easy to install and it was a definite plus that you can load up 50 sheets of paper. The quality of both the text and pictures Wes`s excellent. I`d definitely recommend this printer to anyone looking for a great printer that is built to last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worthless The print is fine as is the scanner. The problem is that the software is so bad that I could rarely get the thing to print. My iPhone would not recognize it nor would my iPad. The brother software isn’t compatible with all my device or computer programs. I even tried their tech support which wasn’t much help. It is sad that I spent a lot of money on a useless printer only to go out and buy an HP once again. Well, maybe someone at Goodwill will have better luck with that piece of junk. If I had not been out of town for a while I could have returned it.

I had a Brother printer about 10 yrs ago and I loved it. The printer prints fast and quiet. It was easy to set up. Also i'm glad that Brother has an ink program so the ink can come to my home.

It didn't on my work laptop (I'm working from home but I think it is the security setting that got in the way. I haven't had the time to play with the printer enough, but I was able to scan documents. Will continue to explore the features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ok.. but NOT as expected I bought the MFC-J6545DW XL because the video showed an office worker using the NFC option on the printer. But when I got the printer home (after 3 weeks of shipment issues I find the video on the Brother website was misleading. It does not have NFC ability. It has WIFI direct which is not something I like using as it forces my cell phone to have it "at the ready" 24/7 wherein it shuts down the WIFI and turns on WIFIdirect making my phone unable to connect. I have to disable WIFI direct via 4 clicks and so using it is an annoying option. I have been a loyal customer of brother for decades. In fact, I not only speak very highly of your printers with all my church memebrs the world over (I am a pastor of a global online church) I recently bought 3 laser printers for some members in the USA doing additional printing work and so.. this "bait and switch" video took me a bit off guard and because of shipping issues I am not going to return it and wait another 3 weeks to get something that normally arrives in 3 days. I will simply use the printer without the option to send data via my cell phone. In short.. this will no doubt affect where my next printer purchase will be. PS.. I called Tech Support and was constantly ignored many and I mean MANY times when I kept trying to tell the techie that NFC is not the same as WIFI direct. He kept trying to "sell me" on the idea of using WIFI direct even though I told him I did not want to use that, I wanted to use NFC and that was the reason for my purchasing this particular printer. When I finally gave up knowing the techie was not going to listen he promptly hung up in a rush without ever addressing my issue. NOT GOOD.
