The PT-D600VP is a versatile, PC-connectable label maker well suited for a variety of labeling usages in a business environment. Quickly create professional-looking labels using the built-in keyboard, or connect to a computer to create more personalized labels. The intuitive, full-color, graphical display offers easy access to formatting menus as well as the ability to preview actual label appearance before printing. Just type, format and print. You can even save up to 99 labels in the large memory, a great time-saving feature. This labeling kit includes an AC adapter, USB cable, as well as a carry case, which gives you the flexibility for on-the-go use or storing additional tapes. The PT-D600 works with 5 different TZe tape widths - and the convenient, top-loading tape design lets you easily change tape cassette sizes and colors. Standard TZe tapes are durable and laminated, so they withstand water, heat and fading.

It prints in several font sizes, several layout styles, has many examples and suggestions. I have no negative replies regarding this product - it is hard to beat for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice label maker from Brother. I had a handheld Brother label maker for quit some time now,and decided to upgrade to a new one. Very is to set up, just throw in the batteries or plug in the included AC adapter and your good to go. It comes with a 1inch (24mm sample tape which is nice. Some people might be a bit overwhelmed when using it for the first time, but read the instructions and you’ll be cranking out high quality labels in no time. And plus the included case is great to store everything. So if you need a high quality label maker, you should consider this one, I’m very satisfied with my purchase.

The autocut is one more piece to stop working down the road and also creates that wasted label space. The quality is very high though. Love the screen and know what your label will look like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product The PT-D600VP is great product for my business. Connecting it my compute made life a lot easier. Especially about the multi lines, different size and kinds of tapes. If there was any issues, I wish there was more space in the carrying case to support more of the different types & kinds of tapes. Another issue is the amount tape wasted when using the computer and you print the label, the unit will waste about 1 inch of tape every time you print. I wish there was way control the amount of tape wasted. I understand why you have to cut off the lead of the tape to know where the unit needs to start to print, but with of the tapes you purchase is kinda costly. Wasting any of it could be an issue.

Because it can now be connected to a PC and the labels designed on the PC, virtually *anything is possible* for label designing! And it has a very intuitive, straight-forward layout; doesn't require reading the instruction manual beginning to end. I don't think a labeler can get any better than this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't work as advitised - support is nonexistent The brochure lends you to believe this machine can do almost anything and it does have a lot of great features. Unfortunately, they do not work as the instruction manual shows. I have been trying to work with their support team for weeks now. I keep telling them to call me any Thursday - all day long - and I can sit in front of the machine and work with them on it. But after 4 weeks now, they call me on Mondays and Tuesdays and I ask them to call me on Thursday - and no one calls me back on Thursday.

I have a similar brother ptouch unit at home only it does not have the PC connectivity which this unit has. What a difference this unit makes on my productivity. It is quick to print, easy to change the formats, and has a bunch of built in label types. The only thing I would like better is faster printing and the ability to shorten the excess label size at the beginning of each label. This tends to chew up the tapes much faster. Maybe there is a way to do it but I could not figure it out. All in all, it is a great unit and well worth the money.

I use the 1-inch black tape with the white print, the labels look like they were done by a professional print shop. Great Product!

Easy to customize to what you want. I have the 1" labels but you can use smaller wording and just cut off what you don't need. I love it. Getting ready to start labeling things in my kitchen to get more organized and I can't wait. :

We love how easy it is to generate labels using the computer with this affordable P-Touch D600VP, and the flexibility to design labels directly on the device without a PC is equally important to me. These machines seem to always push out tape that has to be trimmed off (wasted but I don't know how they would get around that, at least it's marked to show where to cut it off. The backing of these adhesive tapes is revolutionary. It used to be so much of a chore to get hold of the strip behind the label to peel it off and stick it...now the backing is split down the middle and it makes it much easier to peel it off. I was able to label all my work shop storage bins quickly and consistently designing labels from an attached laptop. This labeler connects to a PC via USB cable. It might be more convenient to have a Bluetooth connected device but we really like this a lot! I'm so pleased with this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Label Maker. Good Software Interface. I reviewed a number of label makers before selecting the Brother PT-D600VP with storage case. I chose this label maker for the software interface (Windows of Mac, the variety of label sizes supported, and the variety of label colors available. The label maker prints exceptionally clear text. The software interface allows fast and easy label creation (I have not used the keypad input). The printer is exceptionally well built. I expect to get years of use from it. The case is a nice addition for storing the printer as well as a few label cartridges. Overall, I recommend this label maker for a wide variety of applications. Downsides: The label backing could be easier to peel, especially when printing short labels. Undo does not work when you make a mistake in the software. If you accidentally delete the text, for example: too bad, you can't get it back. Finally, the label maker always spits out a 1/2" (approximately) segment of label tape before printing. This is the result of the design and cannot be overcome. So, it's much more efficient to print a number of the same label instead of printing one at a time (if your application allows this). If you have to print a series of individual labels, I can see where the extra 1/2" cutoff would get very annoying.

This is one of those products you think don't have a need for until you have it. I'm labeling everything from my tool box drawers, containers in cabinets, last service on vehicles, to small sockets.

I love this labeler from Brother but I cannot overcome the waste of tape at the beginning and at the end of the printing...I hope Brother can fix this issue since every time I use the labeler, I feel like I am wasting so much material for no reason! I still recommend this labeler to anyone since it is easy to use and is fast. Also, it is fair to say that the small labeler looks great and professional like. I am using in my house but I would like to use it when I start my small business, one of these days!! :

It is simple to use and easy to work with, the features are beyond what I had expected. I connected to my iMac computer and works great. I truly recommend this for any home office.

I do wish that there was not so much waste of tape, the machine spits out extra befor and after the printed word which in most cases you trim off resulting in wasted material and higher usage cost. wish they could have an adjustment to that setting and then the machine would be fantastic

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very versatile labeler. Reasonable price This labeler, like most electronic devices these days likely does far more than I'll ever need. It was bought to replace an old PT-1000 that started giving cutter errors. Probably paid less for this far more advanced printer. Having the ability to print from a PC greatly expands the capabilities, such as logo printing. A bit of a learning curve to the more advanced features and setting up with the PC software installation took a bit of time. Only real gripe is that it will not use TZ tapes, only TZe. I have a number of old tapes that I'll have to try and use up in the failing PT-1000.

This machine had alloud me to maintain a clear tool etching following the patriotic theme for all of our 10,000 plus tools. I have been quite please with its performance. Only thing I wished it had was a warning when you are running close to running out of tape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Versatile Machine! I bought this to use with my business to do address labels faster, I had no idea it would be as useful as it is! I now make all my inventory labels with it, I can do it on the machine itself, or on my computer screen. I can change the size labels, or the font, anything. This has proved to be an invaluable tool in my business! I would definitely recommend this label maker to others, it is so easy to use, and you can even switch out the 'tapes' before you are done with the one you are on. I also love the carrying case to keep it in and keep it clean. Great label maker!

I used it on the elect panel to label everything. We have many light switch's all of them are now labeled. Loan out a tool label it. It will come back to you. I label the back of a lot of photo's. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No issues with the printer, just the carrying case Retired our XL printer with the purchase of the PT-D600VP. The hard shell carrying case incorporates a soft vinyl hinge, not a "pin" type. Its not going to last like the case for the XL.

It wastes a lot of extra label to print out any particular label. There are a few tweaks you can do but none of them are great options.

The software is also excellent - with one exception. At least with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, it sets the printer default to itself, overriding whatever previous default you may have set. I discovered this when trying to print a Word document after using the PT-D600VP. It formatted the document for the label printer and “print” did not show the usual selection of printers. It was easy enough to fix, but just a warning to reset your default printer when you are done using the PT-D600VP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, bu a bit complicated Labeler seems to work well. I like/use the PC connection. However, writing simple single line labels is a bit complicated. If I am close to the length boundary, I can't tell if the label will be readable unless I do a "Print Preview". A tutorial video might help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful product! Whoever got to work on the engineering of this PT Printer was having fun! The operation of the device is smooth and intuitive, even the extra characters interface. I love it. This is such an improvement over the devices it is replacing, I am in awe. I still use the small P-Touch for when I need the mini tapes, but other than that I use the new one almost every day. I know I am supposed to mention details here, but, honestly, it's hard to find any problems. Other than the print button being in the wrong place, which is a problem when you want to hit delete and you hit print instead, and that's just a matter of getting used to the model.
