However, once I learned the functions, this has become a wonderful addition to my office. It is super simple to change label cartridges. It is easy to create the label, changing fonts, sizes, and placement. From shipping packages to organizing files, it's been quick and fun to have this printer spit out labels.

I`ll do my best to review this product on its merits. What I really need in my life is a label gun, and this isn`t it. If you need to make lots of labels at the ready, this isn`t the product for you: it requires software and a computer and fussing to generate labels, so it`s too high-barrier for most household uses.That said, it is a decent little printer. It loads very easily, and the minimal controls are what`s needed. As a bonus, it actually comes with a USB cable in the box, unlike any other printer ever. I don`t know how many different sizes of tape it takes, but it comes with a 2.4" continuous tape in the box, which looks to be about the maximum width that can be supported. For what it`s worth, there doesn`t seem to be any functional reason why this couldn`t also be a receipt printer, though I have not tested this out and don`t know if the machine would recognize receipt tape.The weak point here is the software. The website for the drivers listed in the pamphlet never loaded. The product is not listed on Brother`s US website. Eventually through some Googling I found a Brother site with all sorts of different drivers and downloads; there I was able to finally find an install a driver and the label maker software.Once I got the drivers installed, I struggled to do a test print. What I didn`t realize is that Windows doesn`t automatically detect and set the paper size, even though the printer is apparently capable of detecting its media. Once I figured out the right paper size to set, I could finally print a test page.Similar paper sizing headaches plague the label software. Most templates don`t load in a way that makes sense with the paper tape that`s loaded, and trying to adjust the templates to fit into your loaded tape can lead to some wacky results if you`re not careful, for example a "garlic salt" label that`s 2 inches high and 18 inches long. In general, the label maker software is clunky, unpredictable, and fussy, and doesn`t use any of the existing conventions of desktop publishing. Trying to do the simplest tasks, like resizing a piece of clip-art, are headache-inducing. To its credit, the label software does have a robust barcode generator. This, too, is also hampered by bizarre limitations: why can`t you make a QR code bigger than 1" by 1"? Just because! I also never figured out how to make multiple labels with one printout, which could be a limitation if you need to print out a huge amount of price tags or kitchen labels or whatever.Overall, a decent little machine (if it fits your purpose, hampered by drivers and software that are not ready for prime time.

In general this label maker prints fast and consistent. I liked how fast it was. I like that the software gives you templates with some ability to change them. However, I did not like that I had to download A LOT of software to use the label maker. I try not to download things to my computer and I had to download 4 separate things to use the label maker. It provides a design software, however the templates are boring and generic - they reminded me of things you would see on Apple computers back in 1995. Also, even though I told it to select designs for the label size I included, it still did not and there were not a lot of options for the size I was using. The directions that came with the label maker were not clear on what to do once you installed all of the software. I have used handheld label makers and they seemed more intuitive and had more fun designs/fonts. I also wish that there was a way to print in color. It may be a possibility with other labels that I can input into the printer. Based on my expectations, it did not meet what I was thinking, especially design-wise. However it was fast, which was nice. I had to play around with it in order to get it to print return address label sized labels on the label paper I was given - it should automatically size to what is in the printer. Overall I would suggest better design software to use with the label maker because then it would be more creative and useful.

Ease of installationI found this product to be easy to set up. Printed instructions included with the product were clear and easy to follow. After plugging in two cords and turning the printer on, I headed to the website where installation downloaded quickly and required no more from me than a couple of clicks.Ease of useAfter spending a few minutes becoming familiar with the software, I looked at the included labels and learned of many interesting and unique ways to use the label maker that I had not previously considered. Opting to create my own label, I got to work and found the software to be intuitive and easy to navigate.NegativesMy one complaint is that there were FIVE icons dumped onto my home screen after installing the software. While they can be easily deleted, that seemed like an unnecessary step and something I had not seen before.Overall impressionI like the product and am excited to use it in ways I wasn`t expecting to!

This product required no assembly that was difficult. All you have to do is insert the drop in roll. You plug it in and download software and your good to go. What I loved most about this product is the fact that you can cut the labels to any size you desire. It has no ink and no toner that ends up saving you a ton of money.I have used another label maker and I was no where as pleased as I was with this one. I have not had another product that gives you these abilities. One of the best features is that you are able to intergrade it with windows mac and Microsoft word excel outlook. The price point is phenomenal.I honestly do not think this product could improve any more the benefits are endless.

I love to be organized and always have thought about getting a label maker. I was really excited to try out this label printer. It was much bigger than I expected. It needs to be connected to a computer or laptop. It prints in black and white only.SETUP: I consider myself tech savvy, but I can see some people might have trouble with the instructions and setup procedure. The instructions are brief and to the point, but the images were slightly confusing. Also, when installing the software, it is not very clear where to go and open up the software. I am on a MAC. I found what I needed, but if someone is not good with technology, they might have a difficult time locating the software after it is installed.SOFTWARE: I like that the software includes templates to use. It allows you to play around with the fonts, text sizes and other built-in designs. I save a ton of affirmations and inspirational quotes, so I picked out a few of my favorite and added the picture as a new file and printed them. I am excited to post these on my board, so I can remind myself to stay positive and everything will be ok.I make essential oil blends for various issues. I will be using this label printer to label my glass bottles. PRINTING: It is super quick! I wish there was an option to print in color. It is not loud. If you are looking for a label printer, to do more than just print letters on a small strip, I do recommend this product.

This label printer works well - creates high quality black and white labels quickly and without extra effort. Labels can be of any width. Pros:Labels print quickly.High quality printing. Decent, intuitive interface.Can create an address database in order to print multiple address labels.Variable cutting so labels can be of any width, not just standard widths, if you have a continuous roll.I have had good luck with other Brother printers in terms of reliability, so expect this one to be the same.Fairly small footprint.Cons:Installation was not as simple as expected.Was somewhat difficult to find .exe file as didn`t leave icon on desktop.Must be attached to computer with USB, so less flexible (but also probably faster than a wi-fi printer.Replacement label rolls not cheap, but there are third party options.

This Brother QL-600 Label Printer is so wonderful. When I unboxed the printer, the instructions were easy to follow and the install was simple. Hooking it up to my computer and making I was following along was very simple as well. Learning all the features like using it for my personalized address maker, as well as for name tags was so easy and great. I have a small business and,I didn`t realize how much I needed this printer until I used it. I used it for labeling my containers, my office supplies and misc. things that are around my office. I was able to easily create these labels and also play around with printer as well. I noticed another feature, which gives you the option to input names, addresses and etc., in the address book part of the install. It`s a feature I will be using quite often.

The Brother QL-600 Label Printer has been a welcome addition to my office space. It is compact enough to fit seamlessly on my desktop, while being large enough to hold decently large labels when needed. Set up was easy and should go seamlessly for even the least computer savvy members of your team. The Brother QL-600 comes with instructions to download the P-touch Editor software. The software is free and easy to download for windows and MAC on the brother website. The device uses the Brother DK label rolls and comes with one starter roll of DK continuous durable tape. I have found the DK label rolls to be economical when purchasing refill rolls of different sizes. Overall, I am very pleased with this version of Brother label printer. It is easy to set up and use.

The printer arrived to me in very secure and protective packaging. I pulled it out of the package and began to read the instructions for setup. Physically the setup is easy. You just install the label tape and plug the printer into power and your computer. Next comes the software setup, which was not quite as easy. The QR code that was provided in the instruction manual took me to a non-functioning link. I then went to the specified website to download the required software. I clicked on the link for the Mac compatible software, as I was using it with a MacBook. After downloading the software I attempted to launch the installer. I got a notice that the software was not compatible with my computer. I detest the download and tried again, this time with success. Once the software was installed I found the printer very easy to use. The software makes generating your label content very easy, and it prints a very professional looking, quality label. As long as you`re somewhat patient and can work through setup kinks, I would recommend this printer for anyone who has a frequent need to print labels.

I mainly use the printer for shipping labels, but this does the same job and easier.The label is easy to load and no paper is wasted when loaded correctly.The printer is very fast and the print quality is excellent. Super fast, easy to use and saving me a lot of time.I would highly recommend this printer.

My first impression was it was a contemporary label maker that could be transported if I need it to. The installation was very clear and easy to do. I like that I can choose different sizes of labels depending on what I want. Changing the roll was easy as well not like some of the other labels makers I have used in the past. I was able to print 10 labels from Microsoft word with no issue and was surprised how to fast it went. I also notice that this label printer can print filing tags, small banners, and other identification labels. The quality of the labels is high resolution and the graphics and text are crisp and clear. The only thing that is missing from this product is the wireless interface.

I`ve had experience with several other well-known label makers and I am impressed with this brother ql-600. 1. The roll of the actual label does not limit to a specific size and you can indicate how long or short you want the label to be. 2. The various fonts and flexibility to add multiple sizes in 1 label creation make it versatile to highlight items such as names or a specific message you want to standout.3. It`s not too bulky and easy to store away.There was a hiccup on the setup instructions but you just have to go to the brother website, select the country, and type the item number to be able to download the drivers. I have a mac and was able to download app straight from the app store.Overall. I give it a 4.5/5, due to the flexibility of sizes, fonts, and able to select size of label. I take .5 point away because the app does get a little bit to get used to the different formatting options but nothing you can`t learn in 1 sitting. This is def. my current favorite label-maker and now I want to label my entire house!

I received the Brother QL-600 Label Printer and have used it for nearly a week. In order to give it a fair review, I wanted to use it over a span of a view days. My favorite feature is how fast it generates the labels and being able to use it right away.The instructions were pretty cut and dry and made the label easy to use.The label maker was very easy to assembly and use soon afterThe print feature is awesome and I don`t have to worry about smearing like the laser printer I have at work does a lot of smearing, especially if you touch the ink immediately after the printing. The label maker exceeded my expectation.I see nothing I would change on this label makerOverall, I was very impressed with the quality and capabilities despite its size.

The maker itself is nice and compact and won`t take up a lot of room. Setup was pretty easy until it came time to insert the labels. I wasn`t sure if I inserted the labels the right way or not. The instructions were not clear on the direction. I followed the picture in the instructions. Downloading the software was all online. There was no installation CD. It took longer to download the software than I expected but it did take you step by step. Once everything was downloaded, I was ready to print the labels. The label software was easy to follow and user friendly. I was able to switch between label size and format easily. The labels were nice and crisp and the ink did not smudge. The cut function on the maker was very precise and left a crisp cut as to not ruin the label. Overall, it is a very good label maker that does a lot for its compact size. I like it a lot and will come in handy when I need a label.

I am trying to find a manual written for beginners and there are none.I have been struggling with the ql600 2-10 of February and can not find any help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I hope I convey how great this printer is. This little item is a breeze to plug in and set up. I use it directly through USB on my PC. The main thing I wanted to mention here is I did not install the Brother editing software. Printer driver yes, software, no. The application I'm using lets you choose your printer (as is normal with all apps). I then create a custom paper size that fits the restrictions of this little label maker, and after a couple tests and edits, my template is saved. After that, click and print. Oh, I'd like to mention. Its thermal. No ink. No toner. It's ready almost immediately after power up. It will shut off on its own, probably to conserve its' heater. Printed labels are quick. To sum it up, this is one of Brothers best products. One last thing. My understanding is, any Brother label products with model QL will fit this printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A little complicated to use and setup for me Really nice label printer but a bit difficult to use. I ordered an extra roll of tape as I use a lot of labels. The problem I ran into was understanding print size and label size? I would type up a label, print, than start getting messages about wrong label size? I had to look up solutions by searching the web but could not really find anything? The instructions downloaded were just about loading the tape roll and really nothing about setting up and using? or anything about error messages and how to resolve. I did eventually get it figured out using the pre-set labels in the program. but still don't fully understand it? And how to setup and print smaller labels for a file folder, or small items? If you could send me more details on how to print small labels I would appreciate it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not as advertised Very disappointed in software for the QL600. It is difficult to use. Also, Brother says this printer is compatible with Microsoft Word via their "Add-In Utility". This is not entirely true. It is only compatible with the 32bit versions of Microsoft Office. They fail to mention this (conveniently) on their website. I asked support about this, and their solution was to convert to Microsoft Word 32bit. Of course they didn't say how to do this. [Incident: 240402-001684]
