High-performance, L-series telephoto zoom lens combining lightweight and compactness with an f/4 maximum aperture. Inner focusing and the ring USM enable quick and quiet autofocusing. Also, a circular polarizing filter can be attached and used without difficulty because the front lens element does not rotate during focusing. The tripod collar (sold separately) is the same one used with the EF 300mm f/4L USM.

Canon EF zoom lens 70-200mm is rated4.94 out of5 by16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lens for TravelThis is a lightweight lens that's great for location and if you travel. I purchased this lens to compliment the 2.8 and pack this one instead. It's to bad I bought this lens just before the announcement of the IS model, however; I'm not disappointed and still impressed by the IQ.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very fast, very sharpI have been using this lens for a few months now and can say that it is a great beginner zoom lens. Without image stabilization this lens handles just fine and have found no difficulties with it at 200mm. While it does struggle moderately in low light it definitely can be worked around. Overall great lens, especially for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get this lens! This is my first L series lens and I now understand what the fuss is all about regarding the L series lenses. I've had this lens for 2 years now and I couldn't be happier. Super sharp images, great color, and great contrast. I mainly use this lens for portrait work. While it needs a bit more light than its 2.8 brother, it is still a great lens. The lens weighs a little bit and I recommend using it with a tripod.Great workhorse lens!Try the L series lenses. You'll be glad you did and you will see a huge difference in your photos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Pro LenAs an amateure photographer, this is my first pro lens that I purchased and I love it. I have used it for family and community events. The clarity in the pictures are amazing. Although I have yet to make the transition to digital, I appreciate the fact that this lens is compatible to a digital camera and am looking forward to using it. I know I may be looosing some wide angles, but will be gaining more focal length. I would recommend this product to everyone. For the price, it's well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good purchaseSharpness is not so good at the corners of the frame and the built quality is not as good as you would expect from an "L" lens, but that's all you can criticize of this zoom. The 70-200/4 L is inexpensive, it has a unique color rendition (which I really love) it's light, compact, and it keeps its size even zooming. Considering its price, it is a very good purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lensI'm only 14 and I got this lens for Christmas. I couldn't be happier!!! It's a great lens but not the best aperture range [only going down to 4]. But still a great lens!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens at great valueI bought this lens on recommendation of friend. It's been well worth it. I do like the sharp pictures it produces. It's heavier than I expected, but manageable. As a photography student it's what I needed for getting my shallow depth of field with the longer focal lengths.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens at a great priceAbsolutely love this lens. It's my first "L" lens and it works flawlessly. Image quality is superb with minimal vignetting around the edges which is easily corrected in post processing. The auto focus is fast, accurate and quiet. Even at f4 we can still get a nice blurry background but our subject is still in precise focus. It also has great contrast and clarity and the images taken with it are just spectacular!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great LenseLens looks new, comes with pouch and shade. I tested it with my 55-250mm kit zoom lens and the L lens won handily. Images are sharper, colors are richer with better contrast and no noticeable chromatic aberration. Lens is solidly built, there is just no comparison with the plastic kit lenses. This is the most affordable L lens out there. Get it if you are still on the fence.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best for the priceJust bought it two days ago for a dancing performance, i took 200 Pictures and every single one is super sharp and very clear. When you crop them in your computer, it will also be very clear. Buy this one, you will not regret. The only thing is that with lower light, you will have to use a flash and set the ISO to 800+. This camera is not for the amateur that sets it on full auto. You have to work on manual mode.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for outdoorsThis lens works great outdoors in normal light. The pictures are fantastic and the sharpness is nothing short of amazing. No need to think twice unless you need low light capabilities then go for the 2.8 version.
