Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3rd one I have owned in a year just broke down. Not a good lifespan. I just had my 3 unit fail in less than a year. Now looking for a new printer after having this last one for 3 months. They used to run well. The new made models seem to break down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Great Print Quality for Photos I have had this printer for about 5 years now. I use it about 10x a year and it has worked well and prints beautiful prints on Canon paper with Canon Ink. I have had success on other art papers as well, I only use Canon ink and have been very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use....Stunning results This device has done everything I could ask, short of two-sided printing. It does color and black and white, high resolution work with output form 4X6 in to 13X19 in. It has lots of paper options for photo printing and high quality ink jet paper output. It makes stunning photos, even from an iPhone. Try one today....You two will love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clogs constantly This printer is apparently not tolerant to 60% household humidity. The PIXMA Pro-100 clogs CONSTANTLY for me after sitting for just a couple days. Looking around online, this apparently is common -- some people can go for weeks while others have to print EVERY DAY to keep it from clogging up. I'm apparently in the latter category. Prints fine after soaking the printhead in Windex, but then clogs up again after 2-7 days of sitting. I shouldn't have to print every day to keep this thing working, especially with the ink being over $100 per set. What a waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pixma Pro-100 Printing Problems I have had the Pixma Pro-100 for about 2 1/2 years. When it is working right, it does a great job. The problem is IT DOES NOT WORK RIGHT most of the time. I have banding quite often. I use to be able to do a deep clean and it would be back to normal. I only got 4 13 X 19 prints after my last bout with banding before it appeared again. I also took out the print head and placed it in about a 1/4" of Isopropyl alcohol. I also used an eye dropper to put it on each of the 8 colors. It has worked for awhile but the fix is only temporary. Now it doesn't work at all. Banding is very frustrating. I hate it. My photos go in two galleries. I'd save money by having Costco do my printing. They already do all photos larger than 13 X 19, metal prints and canvas prints for me. If I make a mistake or something they did causes a mistake, they fix it without charging me. Canon hides behind their warranty to protect them from any culpability. With the cost of Canon Ink and 13"X19" Canon Paper, I figure I could order 20 13" X 19" prints from Costco. This isn't quite right. I have never gotten 20 prints that size out of my Pixma Pro-100 with just one full package of ink. I use an Epson ET 2750 Tank Printer to do my 5X7 Greeting cards and any 4X6 prints that I might need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prints GREAT 1 or 2 times I got this printer back in September and have had nothing but problems ever since. I print out of Lightroom CC. Yesterday, I printed 2 prints and they were beautiful! Today I tried to print an image and it's HORRIBLE. I changed NOTHING. It's washed out and and looks almost like a cartoon character. I'm not sure where to go from here. I will call support on Tuesday.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer I bought this printer after reading many reviews to print the photos that I take. The photos (many, many photos I have printed since receiving this printer (almost a year ago) have printed beautifully. The only issue I have had is sometimes it has trouble feeding the smaller 4x6 paper. Overall, great printer for the price. I would definitely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do yourself a favor and never buy this product Hi there! I'm fresh off of a call with Canon Customer Support and let me be one of the people to forewarn that I've had this product for 3 and a half years now and it has been nothing but an absolute failure. So for those of you who are artists like me I certainly hope that you all do yourselves a favor and do a little research into the bad reviews as it's my belief that a product is only as good as its bad reviews. Pictured is a series of printouts that I've done from multiple programs, after multiple head cleanings/nozzle checks/roller cleaning/etc, and with multiple images including images that canon provided. If you can't see, there's a lovely strip of black lines running down every image I try to print at 13" x 19". With that let's note some things: Pros: - The quality of the prints on glossy paper is rather nice sometimes. - Customer Support has been patient with me a number of times now. - I was given a printer replacement for an issue I experienced once. Only once. Cons: - I bought the absolute most expensive warranty which amounted to 3 years. Immediately after which the printer absolutely shut down with a "Fatal Error" out of nowhere. - I have wasted my time with a grand total of about 4 hours of my life on the customer support hotline and both times I was told there was nothing that could be done to fix my printer. - Every time my printer messed up, it left the customer support team baffled. They've yet to tell me how to fix any of the problems I experienced. The best they managed was replacing my printer once, and it promptly stopped printing properly 3 months later. - The ink is almost as expensive as the printer, itself. You'll find yourself paying for this printer 4 times over in about a year. - Funnily enough, you cannot buy any other printer paper for this printer other than the High-Grade/High-Price Canon-specific paper, lest you deal with prints that are faded and awful looking. Even Colorlok technology cannot save your prints. My story: After 3 years of having this printer and my 3-year warranty reaching its end I started to hear a crunching sound and suddenly it was experiencing a (in the words of the customer service rep "Fatal error". They could not diagnose it but thankfully they sent over a new one as a show of good faith (despite them telling me that they couldn't help me because my very expensive warranty was up). For that I was grateful. 3 months later (this past weekend) I tried to print a 13 x 19 poster that I designed for a client and I had these 4 black lines that seemed to print vertically down the page. I did a head cleaning: same problem. Bottom Plate cleaning: Same problem. Roller cleaning: Same problem. Nozzle checks? Fine! Still same problem on printouts. I tried other images: Same problem. I tried other USB slots: Same problem. I tried other programs: Same Problem. I tried other settings: Same Problem. I updated the drivers: Same Problem. I exhausted every effort and called Customer Support again. While the guy I talked to was very nice he was unable to diagnose or solve the problem and, though this replacement printer was 3 months old, he and his supervisors told me there was nothing they could do other than give me a discount towards another purchase. If I've never been able to fix my first printer.... why would I buy another? Thanks Canon. I will never buy from you again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prints too dark. Bought this last year and it is already obsolete. Canon told me not to upgrade my iMac to the newest OS - Catalina - which would not recognize the printer. Any the biggest problem it that it prints way too dark and not just for me. Seems to be a big problem overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality photo printer, inexpensive to operate I have owned this printer for several years now. Here is my review: 1. I purchased this when it was free, if I remember right, after purchasing a camera/lens combo. I purchased a 7D and a 70-200 L F4 II IS lens. I also picked up some 13X19 Canon pro Platinum paper for $50. So, price wise, the cost was excellent for me. 2. I find ink to be relatively inexpensive considering I get quite a few prints from the relatively small tanks. The color coverage/reproduction is excellent given the 8 dye based inks. 3. The inks last forever, they do not dry out that I have seen. I only print a few times a year so I have ink that has sat in the printer for almost a year before being used and no problems right off the bat on the first print. 4. I have never had a problem with color or printing photos I've edited. I use Photoshop CS6 and the Canon Print studio and I find my prints always come out as expected. 5. Size-wise, this thing is quite big and heavy. Considering you can do 13" wide prints I don't see it as a huge issue, it's a professional printer. 6. I almost always use Canon Professional paper, I can usually find it BOGO at Office Depot or I get it from Amazon. The Platinum Pro, Matte, Luster, etc always product excellent prints. 7. I have printed over 700 prints, mostly 5X7, 8X10, and 4X6. 8. Issues I have had: a Had a black in dump in the tray below the tanks (defective ink cartridge) b) I had some alignment issues after moving it around (too rough) and I was able to use the built-in utilities to get things aligned and printing again, no issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meh I bought this printer February 2019, by 2020, it had stopped working. I was frustrated, and when I spoke to customer service, they said because it was past my warranty I was unable to get a new one. They stated they could give me a discount which was still more than what I paid for originally. It seems as though for every one that does work, there are four more that don't. I chose this after an amazing review from a friend who has had hers for a couple years now. Overall I am disappointed and still have a bunch of left over ink that cost way too much to just toss away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flawless printing, great color rendition, awesome B&W, fast WiFi! I have been using a Canon i9900 wide format printer for several years but then the ink head failed. I tried to find a new ink head but that seemed nearly impossible and ink became harder to get unless you buy it directly from Canon, which I do for all my Canon printers. I decided to look for another wide format photo printer and found the Pro-100. I didn't realize it's size but that doesn't matter much to me. However, it is big and heavy. This printer has been flawless. Awesome print quality, it's fast, it's quiet and the ink seems to last a long time comparatively to my old i9900. I love this printer. It print's from all my Mac's, all my PC's and my Linux machines! I haven't tried AirPrint. No driver issues and no connection problems. I haven't used it connected to a LAN cable nor a USB cable. I connected to my WiFi and didn't need to worry about the cables. I would recommend this printer to people who have a knowledge of photography and computers otherwise the average person would not understand this printers capabilities and think that it is a failure when, in fact, they just don't know how to use it. After all, this printer is indeed a "photographers" printer, not intended for printing receipts and text documents. If that's all you need, buy a $59 printer intended for everyday printing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YIKES Read lots of reviews that said how great it was - I have printed two pictures in the 6 months I've had it that were what I wanted. Spits out paper, doesn't print, OPTIONS are never correct- it's endless. My everyday EPSON all-in-one does a better job without fail. Expensive, frustrating, and I'm stuck with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prints Too Dark I've had a canon printer for 10 years (ip6600d) and had good experience with it - beautiful color and quality. So I purchased the canon pro 100 expecting good things. I am disappointed in this printer - I've tried different color profiles, papers, but still don't like the way color looks - very dull.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from first time for a novice printer Although I have been an avid photographer for years, This is the first time I have ever done color prints on my own. Was having trouble getting decent prints straight out of PS or LR and a Canon Tech lead me through driver updates and Studio Pro install. The results are just stunning and equal or better than prints I've paid a high price for. If you have good color on your calibrated screen, the prints will be just as good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Annoying printer This is my 3rd wide format Canon printer and I have loved the prior editions. However this one makes me wish I had not bought it. The printing is excellent, however, it took a while before I quit getting error messages when trying to print and would spend 15 to 30 minutes dealing with that each time. But the main annoying factor is dealing with the ink. I used to be able to keep printing without changing a cartridge as they all have plenty of ink in them when it tells you to replace them. I can't do that with this printer so am using more ink. Bottom line, the annoyance factor is high for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun for a few months If you look up honest reviews of this printer you'll find the issues with it. First the images will all seem to dark. So, you'll up the brightness to fix that problem. Next your yellow ink will be weird as almost everyone has an issue with that. Then you'll try to clean the print head and soon enough the Magenta ink will clog. Leaving you with having to buy a new print head that cost more than the printer itself, or having to sit on top of all the photo paper you own and have wasted trying to simply get the skin tones correct. It's in your best interest to NEVER let the printer choose how to print something and do everything yourself manually. But this unit alone was nothing like what I was hoping it would be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from null Worked right out of the box. Nice. I bought for 8.5x11 photos (high quality photo paper) and for 11x17 graphs (plain ledger paper). Does a great job on both. Does a particularly good job of feeding paper one sheet at a time with no fuss... thick paper, whatever. Also, the printer device software plays nicely with my programs (MS Office and Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and InDesign. Thank you Canon for a great printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer/Great Value I just purchased this printer from B&H Photo. I knew it was big-- it has to be to print large photos! You can tell by its weight that it's made well and is sturdy. The wireless feature allows you to set it up where it's convenient. I'm a printing novice, but so far using it with the printer controlling the color management while printing from Photoshop I have to say that the print quality is amazing. Just as good, is Canon's telephone support. Without hesitation they will walk you through set-up and answer your questions regarding its MANY features. This is a PRO printer but a novice can get great photos while learning its countless functions. It's a great printer for a great price. Prints small photos and large photos worthy of framing and display.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic results I purchaed the Canon PIXM PRO-100 over a year ago and I am very satisfied with the results. The colors are vibrant and true with colored prints. When printing monochrome prints, the tonal range is fantastic. I print mainly 13" x 19" prints for photographic competitions. I compete in my local camera club, monthly, with 4 prints each. I also compete internationally (4 to 12 prints) in exhibitions sanctioned by PSA (Photographic Society of America) and FIAP of France, being awarded Gold Medals, Silver Medals, and Bronze Medals with prints from my Canon printer. I have had scores of my prints hanging in international exhibitions in over a dozen countries. A truly FANTASTIC inkjet printer.

Printed a few 'plain paper' text pages, and one or two ink wells started flashing 'empty' printed a 2-3 shipping labels from UPS, and now da.mn near every single ink well is flashing empty, and I have to click OK a half dozen times, followed by holding the 'resume button' for 5 seconds, and spin in my chair 3 times followed by pressing OK a few more times, and holding the resume button again, followed by a few more clicks. The ink wells aren't even close to being empty. They have hardly been used, yet the software is telling me to shop at canon and buy more. obnoxious.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best Photo Printer I have owned the Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II and now the Pixma Pro-100. They are both outstanding printers, putting out studio quality prints, that rival those purchased online or at a print shop. I have many images in my office, and frequently have people ask where I 'have them printed' and are amazed I do them at home. I would also like to comment about using this printer for non-photo needs and have to ask 'why'? This is a printer designed to give professional grade photo prints. If you are using it to print envelopes, or let your kids use it for printing word .doc for school...get a different printer. It's like buying a Ferrari so you can run to 7-11 for a slim jim, and you only live 2 blocks away. I have a Pixma 920 for home office use, that scan's, prints and can fax. Lastly, make sure you have color calibrated your monitor. The printer will print your images 'as is'. However, if your monitor is not calibrated it may look good on your screen but print colors may be 'off'. It's like if your speedometer is not calibrated correctly. It may tell you the speed is 55mph, but in reality you are doing 45, or 75. Enjoy the printer, it truly is a fantastic printer for home use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning Prints Have used HP printers, primarily, in the past. Achieved desired results in the past. Latest HP printer quality was deteriorating, so decided to try Canon. Setup was a 'no-brainer', and the resulting test prints were the best prints, from a quality and color perspective, that I have ever seen. I've only used the printer a few times in the first couple of months, and look forward to continued use. The ink prices are comparable to HP, but the print quality is far superior to that of the HP printer. Canon was a great choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pixma PRO100 The product is unfortunately not compatible with my photographic workflow requiring a additional software package to which the photographs have to be copied and pasted in order to print. As a semi-professional photographer, this is a time consuming drawback that is not necessary with other printers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer Love it I have had the printer for several years and love it. I especially love that the printer can sit for months you turn it on and within minutes it is printing quality prints, no clogging, etc. Of course it is not perfect but for the price especially when they offer rebates it is sensational. It will continue to print when an ink is low and may run out while printing so you must keep track of ink levels. Prints presentation and frame worthy photos. I have purchased 3 of the printers in the past one for myself and the last one became a gift.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It! The results are spectacular, especially using QImage. Upgrading from a 9000 MK II. Setup was a snap. Contrary to a previous review, setting a fixed IP address took a minute or two. The only negative I have is that it doesn't directly support all of the papers of the 9000. And I have a lot of that sitting around! I've been able to get around some of this with 3rd-party ICC profiles.

Once I got got everything up and running however your printer has been printing incomplete images two out of three times. That's getting to be a lot of time, paper and ink that is being wasted. I have been a canon customer with your cameras for quite some time now and have been very happy but this printer, not so much. I read where other people have had similar problems so what is the problem?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's still a (frustrating) printer like the rest. After having mine for about a month, here's my 2 bits. All printers are quirky pains at the very least. This one is no different. Mine did not come with a printed manual and I'm not sure if it should have, Canon?? The online manual is a clunky piece to navigate. The software downloads are a pain too. A bunch of individual downloads instead of one simple package installer. On to the printing. First print, impressive 8x10 from rear feed tray. Second print, beautiful 13x19 from manual feed tray. Third print.....denied, a 13x19 from rear feed caused an error, no idea. Tried again, same error. Next try 13x19 from manual feed tray.. paper jam. Cleared jam, unplugged printer and rebooted. Printer has been working since, however I still get the error trying to print 13x19 from rear (autofeed) tray. I have since just accepted 13x19's will be printed from the manual feed tray. As many have noted the prints are exceptional. If you want quality prints and the ability to go 13x19, it's the only game in town at this price. Remember, it is a printer and I personally have yet to own one that didn't frustrate me, this one is no different in that regard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blown away quality 13x19 is my new favorite print! This printer has given me better than pro quality prints. (We have compared to some online vendors and the printer had the best quality) I routinely print out photos 13x19 and frame them as presents for friends and family. I would also recommend buying a 13x19 photo album on amazon to store all of the prints you dont plan to hang.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning print quality, Horrendous to use The print quality is amazing...when it agrees to print to the size, color, and quality you desire. This usually requires the alignment of several stars and planets, standing on your head, swearing, giving up at least twice, and this should preferably all happen under a blue moon. Then you get the honor of burning one or two prints getting things right. I've honestly never in my life used a more horrendously inconvenient product, across any category of good or service. The manuals are useless, and the support page is useless to the extent that I was only able to find the latest drivers after browsing to page 12 of a message board thread, Googling the version number mentioned, then downloading and manually installing the plugins to Photoshop and Lightroom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 Star Photo Printer for Me I've had the pro 100 for about 2 weeks and it easily exceeds any photo printer I've ever owned. And I thought my little Canon MG 6320 was the best photo printer I could ever own. It just wet my appetite. So after reading some expert and consumer reviews of this product, I wondered about some comments that didn't seem consistent with my experiences so far. First thing, this is a large format printer and 13x19 inches do require more ink to produce to get those big lovely results you're looking for. If you will, the cost of printing large. The colors are spot on. One thing that amazed me is that skin tones are right on the money and are as shot with your DSLR. If you got the shot right with the DSLR, you won't have to worry about the print being correct with its' color. Just make sure to input all the correct values in the printer properties for each type of paper you use before you hit the print button. A value for each paper can be saved so you don't have to input them over and over. Also, it's fairly quiet without a lot of shake. The initial setup is as simple as can be. Anyone who has setup a photo printer should not have any worries with this one. Only one thing, the photo paper auto feed slot is so well conceived and hidden for aesthetics I had to look just a little bit harder to find and not use the manual feed slot at the very back of the printer for thicker paper. I could not be more pleased with this purchase. All I can say, if you want a large format photo printer of outstanding quality and looks great that won't break your bank, this is one to get.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer, super price! I have owned this printer for a little over a month. I bought it to do printing of my work in-house. I use only Canon paper as this is where I have found the best results and prefer the Pro Luster papers. (Canon, where is the 5x7 and 4x6 Pro Luster?) Just a note on how I capture images, I shoot only in RAW format and have since the first camera I owned had the capabilities. Having all of the data a camera is able to capture is a must. In addition, I color correct my monitors with a colormumki™. After attending a Canon seminar recently, I spoke with their printing expert to get tips on how to make great prints. I was instructed to export my RAW images as a .TIF (lossless) file formatted to 400 PPI with the profile set to Adobe RGB (not sRGB). I then export the image I am printing set to the paper size that I am using. I select 'Let the Printer Manage the Color'. In printer the settings menu, I choose 'Photo Printing'; 'Borderless' (most of the time); I then choose the correct paper; and the 'Print Quality' is set to 'High'. I find that the images I get have excellent color reproduction and are as good as the image that was captured by my camera. The last print I did was of my living room where I set up lights to capture the new rug we just purchased. I printed the image and placed it on the rug. It just disappeared into the rug as the color was spot on! If you image is fuzzy and out of focus and the print you send to the printer is of poor quality, that is the printed image you will get and you can't blame the printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would not recommend This is by far the worst piece of technology I have ever used. I have not been able to consistently use it as it is always disappearing from the network. I have spent countless house uninstalling and reinstalling the software. The only way it prints is if it connected directly to a PC which defeats the purpose of buying a wireless printer. We recently bought a new computer and changed wireless providers(due to moving) and continue to have the same issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing printer I spent a lot to time researching inkjet photo printers as my last one (different brand) died after a few years w/ moderate use. I need to confess that I am not a tech person, but I must say that set-up of this printer was a breeze. If I can do it anybody can. The prints are amazing, both color and black/white. The speed of printing 4x6s is pretty good and very quiet. The printer is a bit bulky and heavy, but well worth the price and the quality of prints. I would highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Print quality good but ink usage terrible I have had this printer for well over two years and find it ever more increasingly annoying. For example, this morning I was trying to quickly print a black and white text document, not a picture or anything fancy. It required me to replace two COLOR cartridges that it deemed fine before its "startup" cycle. This happens often and the yield on the cartridges is incredibly low. It took me over 20 minutes to print a simply B&W text document. I used to be a big fan of Canon.. this printer has made me rethink that completely!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Software is the pit's I've had the Pro-100 for two months. The Printer does a good job of printing on various mediums. The Software that comes with it is pathetic. You cannot size an art print on a piece of medium with the software that comes with this machine. If you want to print an 11 x17 or a 12 x 16 on a 13 x 19 piece of photo paper , there is no way to do this !! It will print in some oddball size that you cannot buy a frame for. All my old printers at least came with software that allowed you to select the actual size of the print on the page. Does nobody at Canon try this stuff ??? There is a reference to buying photo shop to do this along with the monthly charge for the program.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost no issues when wired with ethernet I bought this printer for the simple fact that it came with a $250 rebate at the time. This meant I was getting a "pro" grade printer for around $100. Otherwise i may have gone with the PRO 10 and its 10 ink system. I have no regrets for going with cheaper model. This printer make lab quality prints, better than any i've seen from the local drugstore. The 13"x19" prints are nearly flawless in color rendition, although, (like another reviewer stated), I've come to find a small percentage increase in brightness is sometimes helpful. I will say beware of the wifi connectivity. I couldn't find any. Instead of beating my head against the wall I simply plugged in an ethernet cable, and voila, there hasn't been an issue since. I tend to agree that the software and driver can be a little buggy, particularly when changing print sizes, but I've come up with somewhat of a system to get me through successfully, and fairly painlessly. After making nearly 500 prints, (mostly 4x6 and 5x7,) I've yet to change an ink cartridge. This I am extremely happy for, because I had read in numerous reviews about what an ink hog this printer could be. I could see that if you strictly stuck to larger prints, maybe. For my purposes the ink consumption rate is satisfactory. Overall I give 4 stars, almost perfect, but not quite there. Still some bugs to sort out, but no reason why you shouldn't be able to achieve your goal of bringing to life the images you envisioned through the viewfinder, and creating gorgeous works of photographic art!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from not up to standard Our old printer stopped feeding properly and so we figured we're using Canon professional cameras and lenses let's use a Canon printer. For some reason the pro 100 will not give as fine a resolution as the old printer that costs half the price. The color is off and the lines are fuzzy. After 3 months of trying to get it to spec I went and bought another manufacturer. Problem solved. I did discover that some folks did not see the problem until you compared the images side by side. The pro 100 now prints my business cards and brochures but NOT my photographic images.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing output I can't imagine why every enthusiast photographer does not have one. The output is perfect. I have been blowing up some images to span several pages of the 13x19 Luster and mounting them on black mounting board (takes a little practice and care, but once you get the hang of it, you can barely see the seem) for really large images. I broke down and had one of my photos printed professionally, but it did not have the contrast or 3-D quality of the Pro-100. Before this, I had the Canon 9900 and 9000 printers, which were also good. I would highly recommend - great fun (and I have images from the older printers that are several years old and still look great - no, or extremely little, fading).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Printer First off, I will say that I have limited experience with other printers of this nature, but, that being said, I used to work in a commercial ad agency and used high-end, large format printers, so I have seen some of the 'big boys' in action. I bought this printer for a small art print business. I was just getting my toe in the water and did not want to layout a huge junk of change initially in the event things didn't pan out. That being said, in the 6 months I have owned this printer, I have printed over a couple hundred cards and prints on 60-70+lb paper, ranging in size from A7 note cards to 13x19 inch prints with NO issues (I have been using Red River Greenpix and Aurora Art paper. Now, most of my work is black and white, so I can't speak too much to color production, but my black and white prints are crisp and beautiful (people are always surprised to hear I print these in house!), and the handful of personal photos I have printed to hang in my house have rendered gorgeously without little to no fiddling on the color end. With regards to the ink, admittedly I have not seen it in a electronics or computer stores in my area, BUT it is easily available online through a number of retailers. In this day and age, being limited to making a purchase only through the internet is not a minus in my book. The printer does have a large footprint, and is heavy - but, what do you expect of something capable of printing the sizes it handles, and how often are you really going to move it? All said, I think it's a great printer for the price. My two cents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deep rich colors It took me about an hour to un-box and set up. The separate black and two shades of gray ink really make a difference in the shadows. I was pleased with my old photo printer; it was awesome, but this is better. Canon's Luster paper is a great companion to this printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Prints!! I just got this a few days ago and it does all I ask of it . I go through printers like water and this one is built like a tank. I can only see good things from this. Set up was tough I am a mac user and it did not like most of the software. Also I had to go online for the drivers after that it went smooth . I followed the directions and put the parts in that need to be and started it up . I printed a few and they came out so so so I worked on the wireless hook up and it took all night to get it hooked up this way . Once it was hooked up I printed a few color shots the software that came with it digitized and there for everything looked pixelated . I tried it on Lightroom and the pictures were flawless . So then I printed a few Black and Whites and they were the best black and whites I have ever seen printed . I can only imagine in the future what this printer will do for me personally as wells professionally .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pro-100 very good The most significant negative of this printer is the ink cartilage size. I have not seen the network problems others have mentioned, but I do have the latest firmware and driver. This is pretty significant because I have a item setting in front of the printer I thought might cause a problem. My prints match the monitor very well, but due to the luminance setting I used for calibration, I am finding a slight (10%) brightness adjustment helpful. I am impressed with the print speed over my network, which is probably twice the speed of the printer the pro-100 replaced. I see only a little difference between the standard and High Quality settings, at least I see none a person would likely see at a average viewing distance. My bottom line is the printer is a very value and the performance based on cost, is excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unsurpassed Quality After 3 weeks of use my PIXMA PRO-100 is without a doubt the highest quality photo printer I have ever used. Because of the significant improvement in picture quality I have found myself re-printing several of my photos. The photo that validated my assessment was an 8 x 10 fall landscape scene done in sepia. The PIXMA PRO-100 provided a much better array of brown tones that was clearly observable. When comparing the PIXMA PRO-100 with other photo printers it is more costly - but you certainly get a much improved document and worth every dollar spent. The proof is in the output !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not as good as the Pixma Pro-9000 Mk II I bought the Pro-100 when my Pro-9000 MkII finally died. After years of outstanding performance from the 9000, I am truly disappointed with the 100. The color fidelity is not as good for what I print. Ink is hard to find. It sucks down ink much faster than the 9000, although maybe that's because I have to reprint so many times to get the colors right. It seems clunkier to use than the 9000. I wish I had shopped more and not simply bought the pro-100 as canon's recommended replacement for the 9000.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pixma Pro 10 paper feed problems I have a new Pixma Pro 10 and purchased it based on the many reviews regarding quality of the prints. I can't tell of course, because paper doesn't feed. Nothing is more frustrating than spending hours trying to get paper to feed to print a simple email or map much less photos! I also don't understand why the printer preference doesn't let you print from the manual tray when plain paper is chosen! So far, the printer is useless if it can't load paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professional quality I bought this a couple of years ago during a 50% off sale. I actually had sold my large printer because it wasn't satisfying so I wasn't using it. Canon pro-100 does professional work, but I caution not to try after-market inks. I did and soon enough the prints faded out. Go for Canon ink cartridges. You're still saving money off what a pro lab would charge for similar quality. There is a mass printing site available, but I a side-by-side comparison showed me they were pretty good but not up to this printer's quality. In fact the Canon quality becomes more apparent in side-by-side comparisons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Canon Convert With some 10 years-plus experience using ink jet photo printers, I was reluctant to use a dye-based printer, and with printmaking experience using two competitor's products -a 24" wide format from one maker and a 13" version from another top name, I was accustomed to pigment inksets. However, both printers failed on me after a relatively short time, so I decided to make my new printer a Canon, and with the improvements in dye inks, I decided to go with the Canon Pixma Pro 100. Starting with a great price, my experience thus far has been good, including the set up and initial printings. I did have some hiccups to sort through with my wi-fi setup, and with printing from my photo-editing software. Part of my problems had to do with files from a new "full frame" camera, so I don't simply assign blame to the Canon printer. Thus far the prints I've made are beautiful, with vivid color, and I really like the sense of quality of manufacture of the printer itself. I have yet to try to make prints on cotton rag, but I suspect I'll be happy enough. With output using the finest print setting, I'm still quite satisfied with the speed of printing. As for the software issue, I can't name names but my workaround is based on allowing Canon's included software plug-in to do the job. I do have to use it with the older version of my software, while using the newer software to edit my RAW image files, but it's not a deal breaker. It would be nice if Canon could find a way to resolve software plug-in compatibility issues, but at least things work - and the prints are sooo nice. One other issue with Canon's included software is a bit of intrusiveness from the "image garden" program, but it's not as bad as experiences I've had with software from the other two manufacturers' products. All things considered, I feel like I made the right decision in buying the Canon Pixma Pro 100.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best printer I've used so far I have used professional quality Epson and HP printers, and this one is best so far. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Difficult, big, but good print quality. This was not a planned purchase, it was part of a package, but I was excited about getting a large format printer. To start off with, it is HUGE and heavy. After I managed to get it to the desk set up was pretty straight forward and I was soon able to run off a test print. The disk that came with it contained all out of date software, so much of it didn't work and I had to go download more current versions. The biggest problem I'm having is trying to print to a disk, I got the updated software, and it's working, I design a disk and it says that there's not a comparable printer attached to the computer. I haven't tried a big print yet, but so far I'm not really in love with this printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Deal This printer produces superb pictures, IMHO superior to lab photos due to the broader gamut and fine grained detail that I find less digital/pixelated looking than lab prints. A fantastic value with the $250 rebate. Its limitation is print longevity. Red River Paper estimates 9-12 years unprotected based on several of their papers, which I imagine would amount to around 20 under glass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Printer and ink problems I have had my pro-100 for about a year now and it had taken into the shop twice. Both times it was rendered head and this last time also included a collector. No stores in my area carry the ink cartridges for it, so I have ordered them online and because of it, it's easiest order all 8 at once. However I have had several of the cartridges tell me they are empty when they are not. It shuts down the printer and I have to place the cartridge it's saying is in the. Due to the cost of the cartridges it gets really expensive fast. While I like the printer, even having to have taken it to the shop twice now, I am becoming very hesitant about buying another Canon, if it is going be in the shop and cost me more in each cartridges, then to buy a cheaper brand to do the same job.

Want to print in B&W , forget it , you need to replace cyan and magenta. Even printing B&W it will bleed away colors that aren't being printed like it was pouring it down the drain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge Savings We use this printer in our coffee roasting business and the printer performs exceptionally well. The vivid colors are impressive. We started out using a professional local printer and the combined cost was well above a dollar a label. We now have a solution using the Cannon Pixma Pro-100 with Online labels using their waterproof glossy version and the label is just what we need and our beans nearly jump off the label.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer I bought this printer a few weeks ago and set it up immediately without any hitches. I have not printed anything with it just yet, but I have several friends that have it and love it. I have seen the beautiful print quality from photos. The grey cartridges seem to be a big bonus to bring out shadows. I will be using it very soon and will update this review or will write a new one. For now, thanks, Canon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great printer, terrible software The printer seems to produce great quality prints, and feels like a quality piece of hardware. It is big and heavy, and needs a lot of clearance both front and back, so you need a lot of room for it. It seems very well closed off when not in use, which should help durability. Setting up and installing the ink was easy, and works wirelessly. First prints I've made have been mostly very good, and the printer is certainly more than fast enough for home usage. The images on Luster paper look great. The big problem is that I can't easily use the software provided for printing my images at the right size and proportion. The driver provided with the printer only supports older versions of the photo editing software I use (think the home version of the most popular photo editing software out there - I have version 13 for Mac and the driver only supports up to version 12). Hence, I can't access all the printer settings from my photo editing software (or any other except the Canon one). To be able to access all the settings, I am left to try printing with the very cumbersome and dated image layout software that came with the printer. The interface is infuriating as it only gives you a few layout options that automatically stretches the short side of your image to fill the page, cropping the rest. That is, you can't print your 3:2 images at the original size and proportion on a sheet of paper, unless that sheet of paper is the exact size (good luck finding many options). I am left to create, for example an 8-1/2" x 11" document in my photo editing software with blank space around it (wasteful memory usage) so that I can then lay that out in the Canon software and be able to print it without cropping it. While I do think the printer is likely able to produce great prints, this would have been a deal breaker if I had known before buying. I am left holding my breath for them to update the driver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Photo realism Speed isn't a thing when you want quality... However this is fairly quick for the size of print it produces. If you want to print hd photo realism without streaks this is a great option. Black and White or in full color prints appear amazing. I'm excited every time I print a new image. Large scale prints with many media options. Network friendly with WiFi is just a bonus. If you just want to print text documents stick to the $50 hp Walmart printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PIXMA Pro-100 Easy to install following the initial setup guide. Using a MacBook Pro, I could get the wireless network connection in two tries. The MacBook Pro uses the stored WEP key, which surprised me. Took about an hour to get up-and-running from when I took printer out of the box. Only issue I have is that printing using My Image Garden is not faithful to the monitor (and the photo image) - slightly reddish color tone, which I am confident that I can fix with Adobe tools. I look forward to printing over-sized photos suitable for framing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Photos - Twice... I received this as an unrequested gift, but thought it would be nice to use - even though I'm not a frequent photographer. I printed exactly two photos, and they were great - nice color saturation, accurate tonal rendering, etc. After that? Dead, dead, dead. I took it to a Canon-authorized repair center - for only 70% of the purchase price, I can have the print head replaced. Fat chance. It's back to print services for me. It's aa shame to have such a bulky, massive eyesore in my house. I know that I'll be asked "would you recommend this to a friend?" My answer - I'd recommend they stay far, far away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Update From Sept 23, 2013 09/24/2013. Update on my prior review. Tried printing again this morning. No difference. Did another print head cleaning. This time PM and Y printed M still blank. I didn't notice it yesterday, but now the ink status shows under half remaining for the PC/M/Y/PM ink wells. Visually checked them. All are nearly full with a couple of slightly larger bubbles than the day before. Did another deep cleaning on group 1 (PC/M/Y/PM) ink wells. Did the nozzle check and the PM and Y appear to be much better. M (magenta) was still blank. Did another deep clean on group 1 with same results. Decided to give the printer time to do what I am guessing is a dissolve on the print head. Checked the ink levels on the status and the group 1 inks (PC/M/Y/PM) are all showing under half full now. The group 2 (C/BK/LGY/GY) are all showing about 1/3 used. The ink wells all appear to be full on visual inspection with the few bubbles near the top. Canon really needs to work on the ink well status reporting. In the evening, I tried the nozzle check again. This time all the colors printed. Tried to print a picture and it appears to be fine. So I guess it was just a clogged/dried ink problem. Regardless, I wasted a lot of time and very expensive ink trying to fix this issue. Haven't heard from Canon even though they posted my original review. I cannot in all honesty recommend this printer. I'm just glad I didn't need it for something important when it failed. Took over a day to correct and now there is always the specter that it may fail again. Overall I am very satisfied with the printed pictures, but I am very disappointed in the printer not being as reliable as I hoped. I feel I may be rolling the dice each time I use it.

Will replace as soon as possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Three Years Old and Still Prints Beautiful All printers (electronics have their inherent problems, but this printer, bottom line, is consistent in producing stunning photos and art. If you don't know how to properly adjust settings for paper type or have you monitor calibrated you may not get the results you are hoping for but that is standard for all printers. Take the time to learn settings as it makes a HUGE difference to how your images come out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good printer - BUT My Pro 9000 Canon printer died, and ordered this one to replace it. In printing my saved nature photos perfect in color balance/ contrast/and exposure with my 9000, were off color & too dark with the PRO-100. Canon deleted the Green and Red inks in the 8 ink set and added 2 greys. BAD decision. I now have to redo some 200 photos for color correction and exposure. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Carefully following the enclosed instructions, it took me about an hour to set up and install this printer on my Windows 8.1 system. I use a Canon camera and found that the software that came with the camera and with the printer, with Photoshop elements plug in, produce photo printouts that are very clear, sharp, and with faithful color repriduction. With me, there is always a learning curve with new photo software but I was able to quickly print 13x19 pictures of local fall color leaves and water that had people asking for copies. I am very pleased with this printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this printer I have used this printer for the past 3 years. Its an awesome printer. I have every level of canon printer photo paper for this printer. Pro Platinum is my favorite. Ive gone through 5 sets of ink cartridge. Never had a misprint or paper jam. I use this printer to make prints from my 5diii and 5div. Prints are always exceptional. After the first set of ink cartridges i have mastered printing on this printer. I have ordered prints from ALL the major online companies. My home prints are equal or slightly better. There is a learning curve for any printer. I really enjoy printing for my personal use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Where is Print Studio Pro for Photoshop CC??? How is it even possible to call this a profession grade printer when it has no way I can find to calibrate the color? The printer is very yellow and I can't adjust it since there is no way to run Print Shop Pro without an old out-dated Photoshop. At this point the printer is useless to me. I've tried to adjust in post, but I'm wasting a great deal of paper and ink. So CANON, how do we use this professional printer WITHOUT the tools we need to use it properly? I am now looking for an actual professional printer that gives me the tools to use it. When I do I'm dumping this printer and I won't be back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Large Format Printing I bought this to print photos taken by my Canon 5D Mark III and after some research found that this was the best for cost and quality. The printer was easy to set up and use with very high quality output (better than expected. Since receiving this printer I've printed both small (4x6") and large format (13x19"). With the large format I've used special canvas (thick and highly textured). In all cases this printer exceeded my expectations in accurate color reproduction and crispness of details.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not happy with purchase I've had this printer for a few months. It was challenging to set up and it took me quite some time to figure out how to print. Finally I was able to print and the ink wasn't printing properly. I followed the canon trouble shooting and cleaned the ink, followed with 2 deep cleanings, cleaned the tray, everything. Initially group 2 wouldn't print. Then just black and Cyan were not printing. After a few more deep cleans, I was able to print. I printed a few prints, and didn't use it for another month, and when I tried to print again, group 2 was printing blank again! I have tried several cleans and nozzle, ink, deep clean but still all the ink in group 2 are not printing. Honestly, this printer is sitting collecting dust. The printer itself is really big as well. I am very disappointed that from the very beginning I've had nothing but print issues and am still unable to print. I was very excited for this printer but I feel like maybe I have a lemon. It seems this is a common problem though. Canon needs to fix this. I am going to try to contact canon to have it serviced. I hope it will work one day. Otherwise all my pics come out freakishly red. Lastly, the few times it did print, the quality was okay. There were streaks, not as high quality as I thought it'd be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Photo Printer I've often wanted a large format photo printer. The Pro-100 which promises good B&W with great color printing and wireless connectivity sealed the deal. The output is first rate. The photographs pop from the paper. Setup required (for me) a USB connection before the printer and wireless router would see each other, but after that five minute diversion ... Nirvana. Prints, given the cost of ink, aren't be cheap, but they're spectacular.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice printer, tough setup I just finished setting up a Canon PIXMA Pro-100 printer to replaced a 9-year-old Canon i9900 which finally failed terminally. That was a great printer and I am sorry it is gone. The new PIXMA Pro-100 does essentially the same job with the added feature of wi-fi connectability. The new printer is significantly larger. Otherwise, it performs about the same. The wi-fi connection helps a little with my wiring rats-nest and provides more convenience in locating the printer - a very helpful feature given the printer's large size and heavy weight. Setup documentation is OK, but fragmented on too many pieces of paper. A single get-started booklet would be helpful. Wi-fi setup was difficult and crashed my existing network, but I am finally up and running again. The few test-prints I have made are excellent, but not noticeably better than the old i9900.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far it's great I happened to get this printer in a camera combo deal. It is rather big, but i like it because it can print poster size pictures. I don't see how people can not install this thing. I was able to install it without instructions, well i didn't read them. The print head is obvious, so are the ink cartridges. So after all that was installed, i knew the printer had to be synced to the wireless router, guess i got lucky holding the blue wireless button down long enough to get it to flash and the router has a wps button and that's that. Driver install was easy and my printer was in the network list in the driver and that was that. Ok now to the good stuff, printed a few photos on the included semi gloss paper and luster paper, it looked great, and just like a picture print from say costco, it was edge to edge and perfect. I'm sure long term i can't afford all 8 ink cartridges, but for now i'm loving it. The printer and box are huge and heavy, this is a workhorse printer that i'm leaving in the living room so everyone can use it. No cons, it's big because it's a pro picture printer that can handle the large paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LIMITED PRINTING Do not purchase this printer if you intend to print envelopes or smaller heavier stock. I'll assume the printer does a good job printing photos etc., however I had horrible results on 1/2 the envelopes I tried to print. They fed through very crooked. Those that worked were fine. Secondly, the guides on the back feed slot for heavier stock can only adjust to a preset width and cannot print also of sizes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I want my 9000 back! I bought this Pro 100 a couple months ago and I am longing for my Pro 9000 which died. It was so easy. This printer prints a different size than has been chosen. It rarely prints the same thing twice. There is something wrong with the software. No, I would not purchase this printer again and am considering getting another brand. I have always loved Canon products, but this is difficult and is wasting both my media and my ink not to mention my time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pictures! I bought this printer to replace my Pixma all-in-one 960. The old Pixma printed exceptional photos but the print head stopped working and the printer was so old that I could not get a replacement part. Since I already have another all-in-one Canon, I decided to get a dedicated photo printer. I chose this one because it used dye based ink and I like matte photos. The instructions to put it together were awful. I still don't know how to insert the disk to print a disk label. I also don't know how to use the printer over wi-fi. As far as I can tell, the printer can be used as a LAN printer or as a USB printer. The printer did not come with a MAC address and the USB cable was too short (3 feet. When I called customer support, the support person told me that Canon did not have a longer cable and that I should go to Staples or Amazon. When I went to Canon's online store there were longer cables. The test print did not work. After four tries, I decided to print a picture. Wow is all I can say. The photo was terrific. And the next photo was terrific. So far, I've had the printer for 2 weeks and the photos are great. But getting the printer hooked up and working was so frustrating that I wanted to rate the printer as 3 1/2 stars. Since I couldn't give it a half star, I rounded up to 4 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Printer I purchased the Canon Pixma Pro 100 printer back in December and have been delighted with the results that I am able to get. The photos that I have been printing surpass that of what I was able to get at a store. People that have seen my work always ask first thing "where did you get the print from" and I am pleased to tell them that I printed it. They are amazed. Set up of the printer was very easy and had it up and running in about 30 minutes. I would recommend this printer to anyone that wants to be able to print their own photos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Printer I'm not sure where some of these bad reviews are coming from, but from my personal experience, this printer was very easy to set up, and connect to my WiFi. Maybe some people are new to this specific type of machine, or maybe the software/firmware provided has simply been updated since others were having issues selecting print sizes, or having incomplete prints/buffer issues, but what I select, it does flawlessly. There is always going to be some degree of brightness or color compensation that you have to consider, and another variable, is that this printer uses dye inks...not the more common pigment based inks found in the majority of consumer level inkjets. A bit of advice for those who may expect these types of printers to be plug & play like a conventional printer...They are not conventional printers. It is advised that you print a test page of a dynamic quality image on (papers that you intend to use most that has good examples of contrast, and color variables from the provided printer software, then best match that image to what your screen represents. Don't look for the most pleasing test image....you must match to the best example of what is on your monitor. From there, you enter each color value manually, and save it to your print profiles. Doing this will calibrate the individual color values to correctly distribute the ink amounts to match your screen. It's a very nice feature. This will greatly improve your experience with the printer, and reduce frustration in wasted time, and money on ink and paper. I've used many different photo printers from Epson, Brother, Canon, and Lexmark, and the Canon Pixma pro-100 is near or at participating with Epson's offerings in the same price point for slightly less. That said, I'm sure some people have gotten a bad printer. It happens..but Canon are very good with customer service, and stand behind their products. I could not be happier with this printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from poor color reproduction very frustrating to setup on Macbook Pro running Mojave 10.14.2. The setup CD was very out of date, it would freeze, and a restart was required. Had to download all of the files from the web site. Wish I could afford to return it to the retailer, but weighing 43 pounds, shipping is prohibitive. I would be further in the hole. Finally was able to get a print, but it is dark with a greenish cast. Should've spent more and got an Epson. Maybe one day.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Actually, only networkable-ish The claim on this massive sized printer is that it can be used via usb, wireless, or wired LAN. It turns out it can only be used on some (granted a large percentage of LANs. Where I work we have static IP addresses. I've never seen a printer that claims to be networkable that couldn't in some way get put on a LAN with static IP addresses. That is something you need to note in your literature and on the box. It's not networkable, it's networkable some of the times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Died Before The Ink Ran Out I purchased this printer a couple of years ago and initially I was impressed with the speed and quality of the printing. I thought it was definitely worth price at that point. My problem is that the printer died on me, the print head is stuck all the way to the right and I get an error message that tells me to call customer service. I called customer service and they basically told me that the printer had to be professionally repaired or replaced. I've probably used this for less than 30 prints and I haven't even used up the ink that came with it. This was extremely disappointing, especially for such a high end product. Fixing the printer and getting replacement ink would cost more than a new printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Difficult paper size codes I love the picture quality of my Pro-100. I have one MAJOR complaint. You can't just tell the thing to print a 13X19 print. You can't just put in the paper size. You have to guess the code Canon uses for that paper size. About half the pictures I print actually fit on the paper; the rest I throw away. It is wasteful and absolutely incomprehensible. If I had known about this guessing game on inputting paper size, I would not have bought this printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great When It Worked Ordered June 6, 2013, delivered June 13, 2013. Hook up was simple. Bit surprise by the size of the ink wells. For such a large printer they are about the same size as the ink wells on my Pixma iP5000. Like the old iP5000, it seems to take forever to actually print something. There is a lot of noise coming from the printer, I am guessing it is priming the print heads or something, and it seems to take an inordinate amount of time to actually start printing. Once it does, it is fairly quick, but the wait is noticeable. Tried a few photo prints and they looked great. CD print also worked fine. That was 3 months ago. It is now September 23, 2013. I tried to print a 4x6 picture and the color print came out with just a bluish tint to it. It looked like a monochrome print but with cyan coloring only. Tried printing again with same result. I Did the print head check and the group 1 colors (PC/M/Y/PM) all came up blank for PC/M/Y, just the white paper. PM was very faded with just a few streaks. the group 2 (C/BK/LGY/GY) printed but were a bit light. From the sample provided by the utility, I figured group 2 was fine. I tried the head cleaner for both groups. AgainPC/M/Y were totally blank. The PM showed and appeared to be ok. Tried a second head cleaning (group 1 only). No change. Did a deep clean (both groups). This time the PC had a few streaks showing on the right edge of the print sample. Tried a second deep clean (both groups) with the same result. Ink status showing I used about 1/3 of all the ink wells doing this cleaning. They were measuring full prior to the cleaning with only the BK showing a bit below full. Looking at the ink wells they all appear to be full, just a few bubbles in the ink tanks. Don't know how the utility measures the ink but it is not accurate. Bottom line, I don't know if there is a serious clog in the print head or if the print head itself has an issue. I checked the ink wells (removed and reinserted them) and put the corner of a sheet of paper to see that they are moist (they are for the missing colors). I have only printed about 30 4x6 pictures with this printer. The last time I used it was about 3 weeks ago and it was fine. Maybe ink dried in the print heads? Never had this issue with the older Pixma iP5000 where I often didn't print anything for months. I will try again tomorrow morning to see if maybe the ink clears/dissolves/dislodges anything and if the problem is corrected. If not, I will contact Canon. Regardless, this is an issue I never had with my old Pixma iP5000. Guess I have to hook it up again. Major disappointment with the PRO-100.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY I have multiple Canon printers and am a huge fan until I bought this printer. I have spent over 7 days trying to set it up. I have still not been able to print - or even get it connected to wifi. Save yourself the money and aggravation and just don't buy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ink I'm VERY disappointed in having to buy ink on line and pay for the shipping of it. The printer itself is better then the others I've had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jaw dropping results! I researched printers for a few weeks before settling on the Pixma Pro-100. I am so glad I did! I just created my first 13x19 print and wow, the image was just startling and brilliant. You won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ccolor I have had this printer for several months now. I am using this printer mostly for landscape photos. I am happy with the color reproduction for those prints. I have tried several brands of paper and am very pleased with the Luster brand from Canon. One thing I find confusing is which settings to use. 1/3 photo pro Luster, or 3 photo pro luster. One area I felt poorly about is the results of black and white. This turns out more soft tones that are closer to bluish, gray tones, not B & W.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from junk, printer heads always go! Need a third printhead now and they cost as much as a printer. Thats why they keep giving this printer away with a camera...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best printer! I purchased my Canon Printer about four years ago after several challenging experiences with another brand. As an artist, I love this printer. It consistently prints accurate colors in a variety of sizes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great quality for the price This product was easy for me to setup and use out of the box.The only issue that I have is that this photo printer does not support an 11"x14" photo paper. I would like to see a software update to take care of this issue, since I find it to be a very popular format requested.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome printer if you use it right I first bought the 9000 then the 9000II. I got some awesome prints from those two but the ink was getting harder to find locally. I opted for the pro 100 based on previous good experience. I got a job working for a painter wanting a book containing his artwork. In taking images of each oil or acrylic painting, I set up a profile for the lighting and my camera body using Color Checker Passport. I downloaded the Canon Print Studio and used Photoshop Elements to process my images. All I can say is WOW! Beautiful images with consistent colors. I printed everything in 8.5x11. Make sure that you download the Print Studio from the Canon Web site. I advise getting a Color Check Passport for true colors and white balance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from $500 dollar Pro printer that dies after 2 years of no too much use The printer was working fine until one day that didn’t turn on at all, and now is big brick “sitting” in the corner of my office. Canon doesn’t support any type of fix and obviously is out of warranty. Don’t buy it, I was expecting a lot more from a recognized brand like Canon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps working great, Since 2014 Uses a lot of ink but keeps on working great. I have had mine since 2014 and it has outperformed my DVD/Blu Ray duplicator/printer and other printers. I have run thousands of discs through this printer. It was going to be a backup to my main disc printer but others failed and became my main disc printer. Slow process but just keeps working. I have also printed thousands of photos with it. Great Printer! I docked it a star because of ink usage. I stopped printing discs in 2019. Now it is a photo printer only but it will be retired soon for a larger printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Printer I've had, User for 5-6 years! I got tired of buying junk printers that died after a year or 2 of use. I purchased this printer 6+ years ago I believe. This printer is on the larger side and may find it a bit harder to find a location or set it up. Still works great and still on the same print head(which are replaceable! I also did buy an aftermarket ink set kit with the resetable chips and the proper high quality dye ink after OEM ink went low. This alone has saved $100s if not more over the years. I'm no professional nor do I print 10000s of photos every year but the Pro-100 has been the best printer I've ever used for the quality of prints and low maintenance. The colors and grays are some of the best I've seen on any consumer printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garbage I purchased my pixma pro - 100 about a year and a half ago. Purchased my items to try and start a custom shirt business and so I had my printer stored in the house and still sealed in the box. I opened it a week ago and, followed the set up instructions, ink carrier moved to the center as it should, removed the print head from the sealed silver packaged, inserted carefully per instructions, inserted all inks one at a time and they lit red as instruction say. Made sure all lids are closed, started doing its thing to set up but started making loud clicking noises then got a power and alarm lights alternating blinking. Followed instructions to reset and it made noise as it was resetting but now the ink carrier doesn’t move and the lights on the inks aren’t on. Called customer service and because it’s out of the 12 month warranty, there’s nothing they can do. Customer service is garbage, they don’t stand behind their product unless you’re with it warranty. Expensive lesson and will never purchase another canon product or recommend to anyone. Stay away from this company

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent printer This printer was exactly what I was looking for...quiet, efficient, fast, with quality prints. Very simple to set up with easy-follow instructions...took me about an hour or so. Be warned, printer is very LARGE, so cue location before purchasing. I’ve printed over 60 sheets so far with both card stock and vinyl sticker paper, ink wells still show at full. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware Extremely disappointed in this printer. Used several times a week printing just a few pics. Ink cartridges constantly being replaced as “out of ink” if yo go several weeks not using the cartridges clog. Printer broke in less than 2 years. Cannon couldn’t repair it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great prints! Very high quality, better than going to many print labs I see there are some negative reviews but I've had this printer over 3 years and its been working great and produced some great prints. No need for a higher quality model. Combined with the Luster paper, it is really something to see your photos come to life on the printed page

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic prints I bought mine about a week ago, and so far it has been excellent. I have printed about eight 13X19 borderless prints that are of outstanding quality. Additional i have printed at least two dozen 8.5X11 prints with the same outstanding quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor ink jet head I have owned this printer for 2 years and it is not performing satisfactorily! the C - Bk - LGY - Y ink tanks constantly clog. This forces me to clean the head EVERY time I want to print photos. I am using Precision Inks which I love. When I use the cleaning functions in Printer Maintenance, it just uses up ink and then I have to remove the head and clean it manually. This printer has proven to be all work when I need it most! Canon needs to do something about this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Printer Paper Jams I've had this printer for a couple of years now and have hardly used it. It is a fantastic printer when it works, but I have been getting paper jam errors WHEN THERE IS NO PAPER IN THE PRINTER. My level of frustration is through the roof. I've googled this issue and tried to explain there is no paper in the printer that is jammed. I am besides myself and am afraid that if I try one more time I will take this printer to the dump. I'm still holding out hope that there is a resolution somewhere. My patients is wearing thin!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second Pixma printer going into the garbage I have a Pixma IX6820 and bought this Pixma Pro-100 after. I guess I should have known better. Lots of money that is now garbage sitting useless on a shelf. I cannot explain how disappointing it is to be loyal to a brand only to have it come back to bite me and my business repeatedly. Last Canon purchase I'll make.
