Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty good cameraI don't understant the expectations of dilettantes regarding thi camera. I've read the previous review and I understood that that guy had none or extremely poor experience with photography. Disregard that review: the camera is good for the amateur enthusiast and the only minus is the terrible display.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Rght for MeI bought this camera while I was in South Africa for a year and a half. I took it on safaris and game drives at different times over a year and a half. I am an amateur photographer. I have taken about 10,000 pictures of a wide variety of beasts and birds throughout South Africa. I love the way it fits in my hand. I also very much like the 42X optical zoom magnification feature and the clarity of the pictures. Animals aren't as close as we would like but I was able to get some amazing pictures. These were pictures that otherwise would have been impossible to achieve. It is durable, light-weight and easy to charge. I can usually between 400 and 500 pictures per charge on the battery. What's not to like?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use!My boyfriend bought this for me for my birthday a few months back, I am obsessed with it to say the least! I still haven't even figured out how to use all the features, but it takes amazing pictures. I'm sure there are plenty of other high end cameras that could blow this out of the water but for an amateur such as myself it's perfect. Going on a scenic nature hike and want some wildlife photos? This camera can do that, love birds and want to get all the details of their feathers? This camera can do that! Only suggestion I really have, if you're hands aren't super steady, I'd invest in a tripod for long distance because it is hard to keep still to get the perfect zoomed in shot. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing!I got this about a year ago now, and it is exactly what I needed. Although it isn’t professional, it’s a good size, especially for someone with my hands, and it shoots excellently, per you have steady hands. I was even able to get shots of the blood moon! I fully recommend this product. Here’s some examples.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terribly DisappointedI am very disappointed with this camera. I am not an avid photographer but for work and fun, I was looking for an option with a bit better quality than my iPhone 7. While not an avid photographer, I do have a general understanding of F-Stops and ISO sensitivity, so I did explore some of these settings. I have had this camera for a month and have tried using it in multiple environments (indoor/ outdoor, low light/ bright light, etc.).This camera is designed well from an ergonomic perspective. It fits nicely in my hand, the screen is large and bright, and the buttons are laid out logically. The camera fits easily in a coat pocket, which is what I wanted. However, the main thing I was looking for in this camera was to take a beautiful photo. This is where the camera woefully under-performs.I took two photos, one with my iPhone 7 and one with this camera. The iPhone color was more true to life. The Canon washed out the color. And for being a 20MP camera, the image taken with the Canon is not as sharp as the iPhone and there is a lot of noise around the edges of the pictures. Would be happy to share the pictures upon request. The next issue was in images capturing movement. Again, there is no sharpness to the image. I played around with the settings and could never record a shot with movement that was not blurred. I took multiple photos with many adjustments and could never take a picture of my daughter running that was not seriously blurred. Again, upon request, would be happy to email you the picture. The one bright spot is the zoom is pretty good, as long as you have a super steady hand. The image stabilization is not good! But if you can remain steady by using a tripod or something to rest the camera on, you can capture a nice image from a distance. The bottom line is that this camera is absolute garbage. I am surprised that Canon would put out a product of such poor quality. I was trying to find a solution for better photos than an iPhone that still fits in my pocket. With the exception of the optical zoom, the iPhone records a superior image.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BeginnerI got this a few days ago and love it. I don’t know a lot about cameras, but this is perfect for my needs at the moment. It takes really nice crisp pictures, even when zoomed out a little ways. 5 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still Images Only CameraHave had for over a year and looking at new cameras again. Ive tried every setting to get good pics from this camera and it just cant be done. If anyone or anything moves its a blur. At birthdays or special family get togethers I have to use the movie feature then grab pics from a video program to get any decent pictures. Or take 10 pictures of a person and hope a good one turns up. Too many special moments lost because of this camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very GoodI received this as a gift from my husband for Christmas. Along with a camera bag, tripod and all. The Camera is very nice takes nice pictures. It took sometime to get everything adjusted so that I didnt have blurry pictures with every shot. The wifi feature and app for the phone are great assets.. I had a digital Kodak before this and I can tell you this is far better then that was.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good 'grab and get, camera.I bought a this camera almost 6 months ago and have been very satisfied with it. I've done a great deal of event and landscape photography for more than 50 years. I've had many film cameras and began shooting digital 17 years ago with a high end digital SLR and was never impressed with any digital cameras. The clarity from focus was elusive and repeatedly slowed or delayed shots by the camera constantly adjusting itself. This little puppy is extremely easy and quick for excellent spur of the moment shots. Many digital P&S cameras rely on digital zoom + optical zoom only and if they allow for only opitical zoom to be set the optics are sad (charitably put. On this camera they are very good. So Gramps, here is your camera.
