Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quietest Switch Ever!This is one of the best switches I have worked with. It is fast and easy to setup. I also like the web interface for quick tweaks instead of trying to remember what command to run. The ""fanlessness"" is probably the best feature. It is great for sites where there isn't a dedicated closet. So far it hasn't heated up too bad either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best cisco switch that I have come acrossAs mentioned in the headline, I say that this is the best possible switch that I have used only because of the fact that management after initial set up is very intuitive and simple/easy. Also this switch does not have a fan and hence the usual noise associated with the fan is also missing. The good news is that it does not get heated up despite the lack of fan.

Pushing the bar ever higher and higher, implementing the newest technologies and making then work faster and faster with every new product. The 2960 series is no exception to this, they have created a bulletproof beast with this new switch, the newest PoE standards, layer 3 switching, ever higher and higher port speeds. This switch has everything you need to grow your infrastructure to the best, bulletproof network it deserves to be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great switch for SMB with caveatsSetup of this switch with the zero day wizard was (relatively) easy, Management after setup was even better. This thing is utterly silent and runs very cool! Still, it isn't plug and play and you have to know a decent bit about networking, so it isn't for an SMB without knowledgeable networking tech support, but for those who have that or have it available, this is an outstanding option. (And if you don't have access to a competent networking tech, GET IT! The Internet is a too dangerous a place to just throw something your grandpa could configure up.) All that said, it is a great fit for a place like ours with a jack-of-all trades IT guy with enough Cisco knowledge to be dangerous (who configures other switches by trial and error from the CLI with reference windows open out the wazoo.)
