The Cisco ONS 15454 has met with incredible market success across a wide variety of customers and applications. Feedback from customers and Cisco field personnel helps drive the constant evolution of the product and its functionality. As such, the Cisco ONS 15454 will now be available in a packaged configuration, the Configured Bay Assemblies (CBAs).

The CBAs provide users with a pre-engineered, racked, and wired package consisting of multiple Cisco ONS 15454 shelf assemblies and ancillary components. CBAs are available in either three or four Cisco ONS 15454 shelf assembly solutions, integrated with a power distribution panel and appropriate fiber jumper management and routing equipment. Additionally, Cisco ONS 15454 shelf assemblies are pre-wired and grounded to the power distribution panel and the equipment frame. Each assembly is securely crated for shipment.

CBAs eliminate many of the hassles encountered when deploying large amounts of bandwidth and the associated equipment. This includes component sourcing from multiple vendors (equipment frames, optical transport, fiber management, power distribution panels), delivery coordination, receiving and warehousing multiple products, delivery to the job site and the labor to rack the equipment. CBAs are ordered as a single part number and arrive at the user's delivery point as a single crate, eliminating the uncertainties of missing equipment. The installation crew simply bolts the configured equipment frame to the facility floor and begins interfacing the equipment to facility power and patch panels.
