unusable product - replacement part did not fit
My HP LaserJet 9050DN is sturdy, 8 years old, and needed a new fuser due to normal wear and tear. I normally purchase HP branded parts, but decided to try a refurbished maintenance kit with a 3rd party label, to save money. I regret that decision. The replacement fuser did not fit into my printer, so it was useless.
Before I returned the defective unit to CDW, I tried installing it into two identical printers, with no success. I could not secure the two blue plastic latches on the fuser and wondered if the steel pins on which they pivot were bent, so I tried swapping the latches with the ones from the old fuser, and found that the diameter of the steel pins was bigger on the new fuser.
The design of the 3rd replacement fuser is different from the original equipment. Next time, I'm sticking with HP branded parts.
