Eaton 5PX 2200 Rack/Tower LCD is rated5.00 out of5 by2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullI have been using the Eaton 5PX 2200 for two weeks in production. Attached to it are a Juniper EX2200 24 port switch (top-of-rack switch), a Dell R515 server with 6 SATA 250GB hard drives (source control server), a Dell R310 server with 2 SATA 250GB hard drives (VPN server), and one half of a set of redundant power supplies in a Dell MD3220 DAS array. Currently, the load on the UPS is at 21% with the above listed devices powered on and running. I can tell because the fantastic Eaton management interface tells me so. I can look at the (impressive) front LCD or the web-based management interface. One particular feature of the web interface that I never even realized that I was missing until I had it is the Measurements area. This is under the Logs and Notifications and tells me everything I need to know about the current run-state of the UPS. Measurements include Voltage, Frequency, and Load Level on the AC output, and battery capacity and run time.Typical features include the ability to email alerts and logs to multiple addresses, control power groups (2 groups on this particular UPS), and set schedules. I can also set shutdown parameters, meaning that I can define what the different power groups will do in response to certain battery/run-time conditions. For example, I can select for power group 1 to shut down if battery capacity falls under 5% and then restart after 120 seconds. So far, I have been unable to find a fault with this UPS. Maybe I need to kick it or take a hammer to it. Or maybe Eaton has built a superior UPS.
