For whatever the reason the black cartridge I received is defective as it leaked on everything I tried to print even after doing everything possible to clean the nozzles and doing all the things epson recommended, so not sure if the one from Dell was old or what

Gook Ink, but it can be wasteful.
If you're printing only black, the black ink should be the only ink that is used. Instead all the colors are used, too. I think it's only a waste of the colored ink.

The Best Ink Cartridges Out There!
Epson 802XL 4 pack ink cartridges are excellent! The ink is always consistent and they last me for a good while. I normally order them every 6 months before I actually run out.

Great product for the printer it goes to. You can also buy singles instead of the package and you can sve or keep using the cartridges that are not empty.
