Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goodbye Inconvenience, Hello Professional Photos At Home! I’m a photo junkie, and as I’ve become a pet parent, I’ve only become worse. Unfortunately, many of my photos just end up sitting in folders on my computer or I have to run over to Walgreens which is a pain because either a.) The photos are not processed by the time I am promised so my hopes of “one hour photo” are dashed, b.) No one is at the photo counter to help when I arrive to pick up my photos so I impatiently wait around, or c.) Well, I’m just a bit lazy. So when the Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-in-One Printer came into my life, I was excited to finally have my own photo maker at home to save time and energy, and print photos whenever I please. Initially, I was a little nervous that the instructions would be book-long and more confusing than helpful. Nothing can ruin the excitement of a new device more than those dreaded instructions. Luckily, Epson let me hold onto my excitement as the printer came with simple instructions to follow with diagrams that explained everything, just my speed. The printer took about 40 minutes to set up. The longest steps were waiting for the printer to charge the ink which takes about 10 minutes, and then installing the software. Overall, the setup was pretty effortless, and this is coming from someone who can’t always tell her left from right. Once the printer was up and running, the real test began. I was a little skeptical about how great the quality of the photos would be in comparison to photos from more “fancy, expensive” professional photo equipment at places like Walgreens. However, I have owned an Epson printer previously which I had a good experience with, so I was hopeful. With this printer came some sample photo paper which was great so I could enjoy the printer right away. The big moment came for me to print out the first photo from my laptop, and I was not disappointed. The quality of the photo made it look like it could have been printed from Walgreens or Shutterfly, but even better because I received the photo in a matter of seconds with little effort on my part. I also printed a photo from my phone, and I was pleasantly surprised how simple it was. I basically just had to download an app, select the photo I wanted printed from my phone, and was all set. The printer really made my photo, of a butterfly on a flower, come to life, capturing its sharpness and vibrant colors. The printer comes with 6 color inks, so it does a wonderful job of being true to the colors of the original photo. I do have to say that despite how easy the printer is to use, it is also easy to make a mistake if you don’t closely follow the directions. For instance, if you pull out the paper cassette too much, it will fall out of the printer and you have to re-insert it or if you put the photo paper on the glossy side face up (I am guilty of this), the photos may come out as blobs of ink. However, as long as you are careful and use your brain, you’ll be good to go. The printer does take some time to get used to with the different paper cassettes and figuring out the variety of features, but once you do, you can take full advantage of all it has to offer. Overall, I have to say I’m very impressed by the printer and how well it performed. It is easy to set up and use, lives up to its promise of delivering professional-quality photos, and makes photo printing less of a chore, and more convenient and fun. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good but buggy This Epson Expression Photo XP 8500 All-in-One-Printer also comes with an easy installation disk with easy install instructions for start-up and setting up wireless printing functions. After setting everything up and running all the alignment tests, I set out to test the printing quality. I started with a simple 4x6 photo and it came out beautifully detailed and of professional quality. I was very impressed with border-less printing as well! However, when trying to print the same photo on 8x10 photo paper, it came out in a completely different color. I have ran the diagnostics several times and made it clean the printing heads just as many times and I have tried printing the same picture 3 more times only to have the same effect happen. I have checked all my settings and made sure they were exactly the same as when I printed the 4x6 to no avail. It will NOT print the photo correctly on the 8x10 photo paper. Also, the printer is loud to me. Much louder than my XP-640 Expression printer. It grabs the paper and it sounds like it's getting stuck in the rollers to me until I see it coming out at the front and it also makes quick/sudden jerking internal movements that make my desk shake slightly. Maybe I have a defective unit? This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Photos I have been really wanting to print out some our family pictures for albums and around the house. Using my old printer, I was so disappointed when I printed these pictures, taken by a professional with a professional camera, and they looked terrible. The colors looked totally different than really grainy. I knew it was time to look into a printer that was meant to actually print quality pictures. I was initially surprised by the compact size of this printer. It is the same size as my junky printer that is marketed as a "compact printer". This printer takes up barely any space but still majorly out preforms. I love the touch screen too! It's so convenient and I'm not asking myself - "wait, what does triangle mean? Does this button go up, or what?" I had this printer up and running in no time, thanks to the thorough instructions. This is a printer with a lot of components and features and to get the most out of it the user manual is seriously your best friend. Some of the features can be a little fiddly, and you really benefit from knowing what you are doing. The first thing I printed was one of my photos, and I am very happy with the quality. The colors are vibrant and it looks like I had it printed at a shop. The printer is fast and relatively quiet. I am so pleased with this and can't wait to print out a ton more pictures! Rated 5 out of 5 by from difficult to set up I bought this to replace another Epson Printer that would no longer work properly.I found that doing a nozzle check and head alignment still did not allow the printing of good photos (horizontal lines in photos). I will try again to straighten this out and if I am unable to do so, will be returning the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most Supurb Printer Ever! I don't usually print out photos on a printer, simply because I could never find the right high-quality printer. But I was excited to test out such a product, seeing how I was sure, just by seeing this printer, it would be worth it. When I used this product I was amazed at how fast, high-tech, powerful, and sleek it was. The set-up and installation were both quick and easy, perfect for me! I love how it's not too heavy, meaning I could easily transport it to many different locations. I appreciated how quiet the printer is. I can continue to do other things while the printer is running, not having to worry about it being too loud for conversations and etc. I think the quality of these photos are better then my local store printer! It's also convenient for my sister, who is inspiring to be a photographer. She captures the photos and priceless moments, while I print them out!! Overall, this printer is worth the price and I recommend it to all who are looking for a great product!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this printer This is a great all-in-one wireless printer for home use. The product comes with ink and papers for testing. I like many parts about this device: Easy setup; Easy to link wirelessly with my laptop and other mobile devices. Now I can directly print from my iPhone, which is super cool! Can print as larger as 8*10 photos with great details and vivid color; Another thing I really like is that it doesn't produce much noise when printing and it's not very space consuming. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very clear pictures, excellent quality This printer is probably replacing my main printer because of how good it is. The clarity of the prints is amazing. Obviously, it’s not as good as professional prints, but it can hold its own in personal printing jobs. A feature that I found neat because it felt so intuitive was the added touch screen that allows you to preview or edit the image before printing. That minor differences gives me the peace of mind to make sure my photos come out properly. As for the quality of the prints the printer produces, I must say they look beyond amazing. I can confidently say that the quality of the prints is one of the best I’ve seen in my entire life. One minor nitpicky thing is that I thought that the printer was supposed to be “small” as indicated by the product title “Epson XP-8500 Small-in-One Printer.” It turns out the printer is quite on the larger side of what I consider to be small for printers. But maybe it is small for an all-in-one printer so it’s all relative. Aside from that small nitpick overall the experience is a definite positive one. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great photo printer! This photo printer really delivers. I love how easy it is to use, from set-up to printing, and I love the quality of the pictures as well. I'm constantly taking pictures, but getting them printed was another story until this printer. I love that I can connect to it wirelessly! It makes it so much easier to actually print the picture right away, and then gift it or put it in a frame. I'm a big fan of Epson, and I'm so glad that they've created such a great photo printer. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good printer It prints high quality 4x6 photo prints, but on an 8x10 I have horizontal stripes about an 1inch wide running the whole length of the paper. No stripes when I print a document. It is good that I mainly print 4x6 photos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Printer, Slightly Dark Pictures The setup for this printer was quite a bit of work but I can tell it's very sturdy and reliable. I wanted to test it out on some small 4x6 prints and it did a stellar job. No bleeding or missing color. Text documents on plain computer paper work perfectly, as well. When you load in paper of any sort, the printer prompts you to input the paper type and size. The usb slot makes everything a breeze and you can even put pictures directly on a DVD which is great considering most laptops don't come with CD/DVD slots anymore. The only issue I might have is the pictures came out slightly darker than how they look on my phone or computer and I couldn't find a troubleshooting tutorial for this specific model. I'm sure it's just a small setting I'm missing but it's a bit frustrating. Can't wait to continue using this printer instead of ordering prints of family photos online.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet compact home option It’s been a few years since I have owned a printer of any kind at home (photo or otherwise) so I was very interested to see if this printer would convince me to get back into the world of buying ink cartridges to produce my own prints. As a amateur photographer, I produce a number of print quality photos and having to drive around to pick up prints can get a bit annoying. Enter the XP 8500. The printer is packed with the ink cartridges taped to some of the packing styrofoam. I thought for a few moments that the printer did not come with ink cartridges, so beware of throwing anything away before you have set it all the way up. First I did the setup. This took longer than expected. The ink spent 10 minutes ‘warming up’ and then I spent another twenty minutes going through the calibration. You have the option to skip the calibration at any step via the LCD touch screen, but I decided to go through the process of looking at test prints to select the calibration settings that produced the clearest result. I completed that process and printed a few test images, and black lines (banding) showed up in the final prints. I ran the printer head cleaning option from the on screen maintenance menu, and there were still lines on subsequent test prints. It did not matter if I did a print to photo glossy stock paper or plain paper. I was about to attempt to manually clean the paper guides when I decided to click the on screen “Troubleshoot” button on the print complete screen. I hit the button, clicked the problem I was having, and the first possible solution presented (before a mention of cleaning the print heads) was verifying the print settings paper source exactly matched the paper loaded into the cassette. I Matched those values and after that, printing went perfectly. Moving forward, I was most interested in the claims Epson made about the printer being “PC-less,” so I tested it in just that way. I used the onboard touchscreen menu to configure the wifi connection for the printer, then I used a ‘naked’ pure Android tablet and a Samsung S8+ to start sending it some real print jobs. Neither device had ever been used for printing before I received this printer. I downloaded some very high resolution DSLR color prints from my Google Drive account, selected print, was prompted to install the Epson Print Enabler software, and after about a ten second wait the printer began opening up to extend it’s completed prints tray and the photos looked great. Pros: It’s very quiet. The standby light is not annoyingly bright and gently pulses It’s compact enough to fit anywhere You can assign it an email address to print from Software can be found easily in Android app store Cons: The touch screen is a bit too small, only really a concern if/when you enter the wifi password directly into the printer. Some work could be done to make sure the mobile app has the same defaults as the printer, or indicates with an error message of some kind if the app settings do not match the selected print tray paper size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small, great quality and super easy to use! I received my printer last week. I didn't expect it to be so small, which I love because it doesn't require a lot of space. I like how compact it is without taking away from the printer itself because it has all the great features of an all in one printer. I would highly recommend for anyone who is looking for an all-in-one printer with great quality and easy to use. I love the LCD screen so you can view what you're printing before you print. I love the creative print app. It's super handy personalizing all the picture prints. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful photos! At least as nice as from the photo store! Very nice little printer, it has a very small footprint on a shelf near my home computers. Printed out some photos on regular paper and some on photo paper. Wow! The ones on the photo paper came out so great! I love the auto extending paper tray, it surprised me when it extended because I was trying to figure out where the paper would come out, and it wasn't immediately obvious. The touch screen made setting up the printer on my wireless network very easy (no back and forth searching for letters to put in the network password!). I am intrigued by the 6 different colors of ink cartridges and am interested in seeing how that impacts what I need to change. I can definitely see the difference all those inks make in the quality of the printed pictures. The only reason my review is 4 stars instead of 5, is because of the difficulties I had installing the printer. I tried using the CD that came with it. I tried updating the software from the CD on the web. Neither of these ever worked, and just locked up while installing. I finally went directly to the website and downloaded the entire software package separately and installed from that, which worked flawlessly. Other than that, I'm very impressed! This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small but Mighty This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. This All in One printer prints quickly and the colors are spot on. Everything you need to get it up and running comes with it. Instructions are easy to understand making set up a breeze. You are able to Print, Copy, Scan, and produce ultra HD photos. The speed of printing for black and white is 9.5 ISO PPM and color is 9.0 ISO ppm. At this speed I am able to print multiple pages quickly. In addition with the 6 color Photo Ink, photos come out perfectly either on 4 x 6 or 8 x 10. Energy Star qualified and it allows you to print on 2 sides to save paper. I am also now able to print from my phone just as fast as my computer. Finally, it has a USB card slot as well as a CD/DVD tray to make is usable no matter what.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek and Compact Installing the printer took a little longer than what I anticipated, mainly because it comes with a few ink cartridges and alot of packaging to protect the printer. Once I had everything out of the box, the instructions were a breeze. I was able to pair the printer with my laptop, and add it to my home wifi so I can print directly from any device connected on the same network. I was able to print without installing the CD. Installing the CD to my laptop took 10 minutes. It does take a bit of time to calibrate and adjust the scanner/ink. Once thats done the printer works pretty seamlessly. I have printed a few photos and they look professionally done. The touchscreen was a nice touch, and it was multiple trays for different size printing jobs. It had a great design, and it looks great in my office. I think this printer is great for those who are looking for a smaller printer that can print photos conveniently.

If you are printing black and white it is about 9.5 ISO ppm and color is 9.0 ISO ppm. It prints 4 x 6 photos as well as 8 x 10. Since it has a 6- color Claria Photo HD Inks you get to see your work pop. A bonus with this is each individual color can be replaced one at a time as needed. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Astonish Photo Quality Despite this is "almost" an all-in-one printer (print/scan/copy except fax). it does a super great job in photo printing. It does print out max 8x10 borderless photo with extremely details, thanks to its 6 color cartridges (not sure how much it costs for the ink but premium and ink from manufacture is not cheap but well worth it). I can just stick the thumbdrive or memory from a phone directly to the print, browse then print without a PC, that's easy as 1-2-3. Another option is wireless print from my phone via Wifi. Also love to have a cd-tray included to, i can do customize CD label and print directly to CD. The photo result is superior, quality as from the print shop. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too much trouble First 8500 had to go back. Printer blocked paper from going through. Would not print properly because cassette selection did not work. Replacement printer also blocked paper though I did get that to work after repairing to a degree. Much trouble with ink streaks. Difficulty with cassette selection because of screen not showing an OK icon. After all my tries I had one screen which showed an OK button. Attempts to get the printer working has used up all the ink cartridges. So far out of numerous attempts two photos only printed properly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Studio Quality Photo Printing at Home I have been using Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 all-in-one printer for personal use primarily for printing photos from my smartphone's photo gallery and I am impressed with the high quality of the photos when printed--photos are similar quality than the ones I pay to print at my local pharmacy. Things I like: The small all-in-one printer offers the convenience of web connectivity, versatility and functionality as well as print, scan, copy, for a home office or personal use. The sleek design, heavy duty powerful printer, pack of high quality printing paper, and Epson ink provided gets you printing in no time. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, Sleek and Effective high Quality Printer Epson XP-8500 is a very sleek and light weight printer. Installing the printer was quite easy. It didn't take much time. Only difficulty I faced was in closing the scanner lid. But, once figured out, I ended up liking it. I also liked the fact, that when you load the papers, it ask you which kind of papers you have loaded. Setting up the wifi on printer was also very simple. I tried different ways of printing through different devices over wifi and it worked smoothly all the time. The quality of photos printed on both 8.5*11 and 4*6 were equally good. I had the option to choose different settings which was an additional bonus. Also, I tried scanning directly to the usb, which worked equally well. It does double sided scanning also properly. At times, during the printing, the speed gets slow, which I believe is due to data transfer over wifi. Last but not the least, I am happy with the way the printer has been working and I am still using it . Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small but gets the job done All-In-One printer that does not take up much space. Ideal for small spaces. Half the size of the other printer I own. This printer was easy to set up. I would suggest using plain paper for set up. It uses a few sheets of paper to complete. Easy to connect to Wi-fi. This printer comes with a CD to install, which I worried about since I own a laptop, but have no fear, the printer can be connected to your PC via USB (not included or noted on the box). But I noticed when I sent prints from my phone, no printer was listed. Download the apps necessary (such as Epson Connect/iPrint) to print wirelessly if you run into this issue. No issues after that. You can also assign an email address to your printer so you can print from anywhere! This printer requires several ink but they are reasonably priced. Expect high quality photos with no lines or smudges. I’ll be able to avoid trips to the store to print now! I like that the printer comes with different tray sizes, so I am not limited on what I can print. Overall, this printer is impressing, especially because of it’s size and the quality of prints! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Compact Printer This is a great little printer if you have a small space to put one. I especially like the fact that I can print from my phone directly to the printer. I did have to use the wifi-direct option with my phone. I did have some difficulty installing and cannot install the Epson Connect since I have a firewall where I used this printer. I haven't had time to take to another location without the extensive firewall, but I am sure it would work flawlessly in a wifi, no firewall situation. I tried to set up this printer without reading the manual/instructions that came with the printer. I had NO problems as it was very straightforward with setup. I did not attach to my computer the first few days as I wanted to make sure this would work without a computer as stated. No problems. Today, I installed the drivers and the printer is working great. I had no problems installing the drivers and getting the printer to work via the USB cable. One note, however, the cable does not come with the product. I think all cables should come with the product or be noted in large letters on the outside of the box that it is required for certain applications. I love the multiple trays for different media and the slot in the top for sheet feeding. Makes printing multiple different sizes much easier. As of this time, I am not especially pleased with the quality of the print. Nothing still looks as good as a real photo but it is a good substitute. It is just not as good as I would like it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is not New (Epson) to me I bough the printer to replace another Epson, due to several years of professional and personal use. Always satisfied, but because the old one was worn out and I am retired I replaced to the 8500 to have all features like photo and scanning in one easy to use unit. Seem like a good deal to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very easy to use I have had a lot of printers in my time. It is a high quality printer, everything has its pros and cons.I don't have any kids but i can see how front panel could break due to children. It has alot of moving parts, its not the quietest and it takes a little bit of time to peel all secure stickers off that holds everything in place in transit. Over all on that part once that part is done and off to printer wonderland!! There are plenty of pros with this machine. Very easy to use. the set up with all my devices cell phone, dsp camera, Etc. The 1st thing i used was the scanner to prop an old photo to crop and print and it brought the new print to life. What a difference. the touch screen is easy to use and you really don't need a lot of experience to use. I wish screen was a little bigger. I have had no problems with it jamming. Over all i would i think the prints and ease of use it is a fantastic machine. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small & compact with Great quality. I bought this to replace my Artisan 1400. I like its compactness, and the fact that i can also copy and scan. HOWEVER, it is a hog on ink. I have never gone thru so much ink with any printer I have ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from XP8500 The unit works OK . It prints photos to dark. Having some issues with the unit to work with the profiles. I'm having to lighten up what I see on my screen monitor to get the unit to print out what I wont it to be. Other then that the unit works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great home / small office all in one The printer came well packaged and the instructions for setting up was very easy to figure out. Initial setup and ink installation went very smooth. I had no issues setting up the wireless. This is a really nice feature that I like as you can print wirelessly from your phone or tablet direct to the printer right out of the box. My phone found the printer immediately. Testing out my first print I was impressed with the color produced from this 6 ink printer. The colors were vibrant and produced a crisp image. It will print up to a 8 x 10 borderless. The speed of the printer was impressive too. The only drawback it won’t do large format like 11 x 14 or 12 x 12 if you are into digital scrapbooking. I noticed it was pretty quiet compared to other printers that I owned. The scanner works really well as a I duplicated a printed photo. This would be a good printer for a home / small office or a personal printer for home. The ink costs $11.00 per cartridge but you can buy packs to save some money. It also has card slots to print direct from your camera card. This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Petite, yet powerful! I was fortunate to be invited into a program that allowed me to beta test the Epson Expression XP-8500 All-in-One printer. After about a month of use, I have determined that it’s one of the best printers I’ve ever used. I found the setup to be easy-I was up and running in less than a half hour. My WIFI easily connected to this printer, making “computer-free” printing, a breeze. There’s an app you can use on your iPhone to print directly to the printer, which is what I did. An email address assigned by Epson to communicate with the printer, makes it possible to print from anywhere. The print quality was just as good as some professional printers, and I found the photo quality to be especially impressive. In addition to these benefits, this printer comes with an ink program, good for 2 years’ worth of replenishment. This is a great printer and I would recommend it to anyone. I received the Epson Expression XP-8500 All-in-One printer, free of charge, in exchange for this review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delighted The EPSON XP-8500 Series came nicely and securely packaged when delivered. Which is a plus in my thinking? As it seems as though the bigger packages are the ones, as are the smaller packages both equally likely to being jostled around a bit during transport And of course, the exciting part was the unpacking, making sure everything that is supposed to be there is there. Which it was Unpacking the box, I find the EPSON XP-8500 Series, of course, No nicks, No mars on the case a very smooth and sleek look to it. As though it can fit in any room, any decor. I find the power cord which is heavy duty. So I know it will handle the load. I find the cd-rom for the setup which seems fairly straightforward.Doing a full install once it is run from your cd-rom.There is also a quick start written guide with very detailed instructions as to getting your printer up and working. As well as the 6 yes I said 6 ink cartridges. Which at first I am like uh oh. This is going to get expensive. Yet I do see that unlike many other printers these cartridges work independently of one another. No longer is it required that when 1 cartridge is empty the others have to be changed as well. Now that is a + PLUS + in my thinking. I do like that And another PLUS is it comes with a nifty starter pack of photo paper to get me started. The setup and install went very smoothly and I look forward to printing out pictures and sending them to family and friends.I have already printed out some really nice pictures with this printer and it is so easy and intuitive. Just pick the picture you want, click and the printer does the rest. I have printed out some reports for my work and they are just as easy. There are 3 paper slots so it is easy to get it done right the first time. From using the cd-rom to install I did not see a custom install to where I could choose what I wanted or do not want. Looking at my desktop running Windows 7, I see 3 different programs 1, Epson Scan 2 2, Epson XP-8500 User's Guide 3, Google Cloud Print Setup So that being it will not use alot of resources.Which is always a concern for computer users I would like and I am not seeing an install for Linux users perhaps there is one and I will be able to use it. I do know my Mom is happy now. She always bugs me wanting new pictures of my daughters, her granddaughters, and their children. So this is one thing off my list of to do`s I will be using this printer for the holidays to print pictures to send out to family and friends This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A dream to set up, excellent quality! I found this to be probably the easiest setup I have ever had for a printer, and that was a pleasant surprise for me! Out of the box, just looked at the step by step instructions and followed with no issue at all. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow (And simple!),and I was able to complete within about 15 minutes. Actually the longest step was removing all the protective materials! Once I finished installing the ink and software (just a few of minutes of my time), I printed out my test paper, and it came out perfectly. I am impressed with the crisp, clean quality of my plain text recipes, and the colorful and bright photos are just what I had hoped for. All in all, with impressive quality and lightning fast setup, this should work well for most needs and for any level of technical ability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Awesome Product The Epson Expression Photo XP- 8500 Small-in-one All-in-One Printer is a must have! Upon receiving my printer I was skeptical at first because even before opening the box I thought how can a small device copy, print, scan, provide high quality HD photos, and do its jobs flawlessly? The multi-printer I currently use is a fairly big device so I had to find out right away. To my surprise it is smaller, but standard. It provides professional quality, borderless photos (up to 8x10!). It is also wireless! This device is better than any printer I ever had or used. Built in Wi-Fi allows you to connect to your computer, tablet, and smartphone. Its high resolution produces high quality and amazing detailed documents and photos. It holds 100 sheets of paper for your convenience. It also has built in memory slots and USB 2.0 port for other connection options. My favorite benefit is the 2.7" color touchscreen display that previews your images and allows you to edit before printing. The scanner provides flawless document copies too! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing printer! I unpacked the printer and was immediately impressed with its clean lines and compact size. The instructions for set up were easy to follow and clear (rare in my experience) and everything was set up in no time. Now to print... I picked several random photos off my phone and was easily able to print directly from my phone. The photo quality was AMAZING! the pictures looked like they were from a photo lab and were perfect! I printed a few non photos as well and it took care of those tasks without issue. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer for the Price I usually get my photos printed out at professional printing places because I've never really owned a high quality photo printer. I was pretty excited to test this out and see if this would save me many trips to the local printing services shop. First off setup was pretty straight forward. The wireless part ws pretty handy and allowed me to remotely connect from different devices. I printed a photo from my mobile device. The setup was pretty simple, instructions were straight forward and there was no additional troubleshooting required on my part. This is great because this is the part that usually kills my soul. Now for the quality of the prints. I have to say, I was very satisfied with the quality. I would not be able to tell the difference between the prints I printed out at the local Kinkos vs the one I printed on this printed. Now mind you, I'm not looking for high quality art gallery type of prints but for the average user I am very pleased. This is great for making hard copies of prints for personal use. It is better than any of my previous printers that I've owned (in terms of quality for printing out photos) and I will be using it to print more of my prints. The actual size of the printer is not too bulky either. Overall for the price and quality, I think this is a solid choice. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could not be better As someone who regularly updates photobooks and uses pictures in birthday cards I was really excited for this printer. I always forget to print pictures at the store in advance and love having this at home to print whenever I want. To start, the printer is fairly easy to set up, although I will say some technical experience is required. It took about an hour to go through everything in the box, set up the printer, align it, and connect to the wifi to print. I had a little bit of trouble connecting from my laptop (probably user error) but I was able to print from the desktop computer without issue. The images that are printed are phenomenal. You can compare them directly to a professionally printed photo and you would have no idea that they came from two different printers. I have already used the printer to print photos for friends and to hang around the house. Best part? The ink is relatively inexpensive so replacing the ink is no big deal. The ink in my regular printer is so expensive and I dread replacing it every time I run out, but this printer is different. If you are looking to purchase this printer for regular photo printing use I highly recommend it. It will print large photos and small photos without any issue and you'll never be able to tell the difference of a store grade professional printer. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I purchased this about a month ago. It was relatively easy to set up, although I would have appreciated a more detailed set of instructions, especially on how to change the ink - the on-screen instructions simply say change ink. It doesn't tell how to release the cartridge. All in all, it's worked great so far, and it takes up a much smaller space on my desktop than my previous printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing , Compact, and Powerful This is an absolute must have item in the home. I had no issues at all with setup. This product can also be connected wirelessly. It does come with ink and a sample pack of paper to try out different paper types. I love how sleek the design is. It is not ugly and bulky like others. The functionality of this item is superb. You can use sd cards, USB drives, and even use apps to send printing info directly from your phone or laptop. I am quite the busy graphic designer and I would have to recommend this item to others. It prints with ease and the colors are very vivid. I rather stay at home now and print than to visit local stores. It's like having your own professional printer service in the comfort of your home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for the user who wants quick quality photos printed. Let me say I was skeptical of yet another photo printer in the world of 'printers', but I have to say this one impressed me. I have used dozens of printers to print photos in my career. From the small 4x6 only ones.... to the large format dye-sub models. This seems to be the perfect mix of form factor, speed, quality, and price. Setup was pretty easy. Onboard touchscreen made it easy and super fast to join my wireless network. Paper trays are a little confusing, but certainly acceptable. This will hold 2 different paper selections (5x7 or 4x6 and a larger 8x10 or 8.5x11 standard paper).. Good enough for me as I typically only hold photo stock in the printer so far. Printing from iOS is easy, sending print jobs from photo software on my Mac AND PC have worked without issue and I'm very happy. Regardless of anything else this is certainly a product I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone needing a high quality photo printer for the sizes I've mentioned above. Rated 5 out of 5 by from This printer is worth the money The printer is sleek and compact. I noticed how fast the printer worked right away. Also, there were no smears or imperfections. I received free photo paper with the printer and was amazed at the clarity of the photos. The printer is super quiet and has an easy to use control panel. There is also a feature on this printer that allows you to press a button and the printer will clean itself. This is great because I don't have to break the printer open. Overall, I can definitely say this printer is worth the money. This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer This is a review for the Epson XP-8500 All-in-One Printer that I got to test out during the beta release of this product. I've had this printer for a week and have utilized it as my fundamental printer at home. It has been great thus far. Starting setup takes additional time than different printers because of the need to fill the ink tanks and after that charge the ink heads. This part takes around 30 minutes. The remote setup shouldn't take long either; I had to run up & down the stairs quite a few times to connect the printer to Wi-Fi. With everything taken into consideration, from removing the printer from the box to my first print took me around 45 minutes. The printer works incredible for shading, dark and white, or photograph prints. Given the tremendous volume to the ink tank plan, I don't have to stress over replenishing expensive ink cartridges. The printer accompanies 2 years of ink which is comparable to multiple sets of ink cartridges. Additionally the substitution ink cartridges are reasonably priced. Why didn't somebody think about this prior!! I don't have any stress when I need to print out many documents or photos. Remote printing works fantastic. I was able to add the printer to my network effortlessly. On my iPhone, I can utilize the Epson iPrint application to print work documents and school papers. Epson even has a feature called Epson Connect where they assign an email address that you can use to print photographs and documents on the printer from any gadget that has email from any location. Generally this printer gives remarkable incentives too and is an incredible printer for home & office utilization. Print quality is awesome and it prints and duplicates quick. The ink tanks are anything but difficult to fill and are cheap. Awesome printer!! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for family photos Setting this printer up is quite easy. Once you take it out of the box you un-wrap the cartages and put in the appropriate slots you have to charge the cartages. This takes about 10 min. It will then want you to print off some sheets with lines. It will ask you to choose the one that looks the best. The printer will walk you through the entire process. Just be sure to have some plain printer paper on hand. Setting up the Wi-Fi is just as easy. It will pull up available networks, pick yours, put in your password and you’re done. The first couple of pictures that I printed off didn’t look good. There were marks where it looked like the cartages were out of ink. I printed off a few more and the problem was gone and the pictures come out as good as if I had a store print them off. My suggestion would be to print some off on plain paper first so you don’t use up all of your photo paper. Over all this is a really good printer for the price and the pictures turn out great. Perfect for family photos and digital scrapbooking. This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Photo Dream I am an avid photo taker but printing is always a hassle. With this printer I am able to use the app to print directly from my phone or tablet which makes it a breeze! I am always using my IPhone to take photos and this takes out the effort of having to upload to my computer, save, and then print it. For me, the app is already a win! Set up was fairly simple as well. The directions are very clear so I'd say it took me about 30 minutes. I love the fact that it has 6 different ink cartridges so you only have to replace the color you run out of, genius. I am really in awe of all that this printer is capable of, from being Apple® AirPrint-enable to how fast it prints photos and documents. I think this printer is worth the price, it's all in one, compact, and really can get the job done from anywhere using Epson Connect. When I initially received it, I noticed that it did not include a USB cable to connect to my computer, and I feared that it would complicate setup. I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to connect the printer to my network and update the firmware without ever having to do anything on my computer. The print quality is fantastic. I printed many photos from my phone with great results. The print came out very quickly, and had an excellent clarity. I also printed some photos taken with a DSLR. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth Just completed the setup and have used a few of the features. Total setup time from opening the box to first use was 55 minutes. The interface with the setup software, network, and Mac was seamless. The onscreen instructions are clear and had enough redundancy to keep me from doing something incorrect. Typically, in my past experience, there has always been some sort of set up glitch with any interfacing computer product...even if minor. There was no such event with this setup for which I am thankful

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy set up My 13 year old printer died, so I went looking for a replacement. The XP8500 had the features I wanted, especially the 6 ink colors for photo printing. The included setup sheet was useful; but I went to the web site and got more specifics there. I'd recommend that. Setup went flawlessly, although it takes a while. Almost 2 hours. Particularly if you download software and firmware updates. Smooth and quiet and takes less space in my armoire than the old one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great things come in small packages! This printer is amazing, pure and simple. setup was quick and easy, the only quirk I had was that it took ten minutes to initialize the printer cartridges, something new to me. Next was installing the software, which i did online because my pc does not have a cd drive. Again, quick and painless. In addition to networking with the pc, I also tried airplay and its android equal, as well as epson cloud printing, all connected and printed flawlessly. Now on to print quality and speed. EPIC. I tried plain paper, photo paper, card stock and even printing on blank dvds. I was surprised at how well the quality stayed consistent over such different media. Not one smudge to be found. Photo printing was vibrant and crisp, giving photo labs a run for their money. small photos can be printed in as little as 10 seconds. This is great for printing multiple 4x6's for Christmas cards and such. Another great feature is borderless printing. This printer is able to print full borderless photos up to a size of 8x10. Great for amateur photographer portfolios! This printer also has usb and sd memory slots for uploading photos as well. You can also use the built in tools for red eye, and other photo editing needs, not that it would take the place of dedicated software, but a nice option anyway. This printer is also a sleek black, and has a very small footprint, so your desktop will not be cluttered. In closing, if you are looking for a sleek, quick and quality photo printer, for pictures as well as media printing, look no further than the Epson XP-8500. You will not be disappointed. I would however recommend that the ink cartridges be placed in a more visible location. There are 6ink cartridges and they were placed within the sides of the packing foam and could have possibly been thrown away had it not been for the quick guide instructions letting me know they were included. This Epson Expression Photo XP 8500 All-in-One-Printer also comes with an easy installation disk with easy install instructions for configuration. Loading the paper was easy too and there are two(2) paper cassette trays in the front and (1) rear paper feed slot. I was very impressed! This Epson Expression Photo XP 8500 All-in-One-Printer produces quality, professional photos and printing. It has scanning capabilities, it is compact, yet efficient and extremely quiet. It will meet if not exceed most of your printing needs. What I love most about it, is its’ wireless capabilities because you can print from any of your devices including your smartphone, iPhone, iPad, or home computer. Even if you aren’t tech savvy, this printer makes you feel as if you are. What I like least is the size of the control panel. Although it works well and is lighted and legible, if the size of the panel could be a bit larger, that would be great. Other neat features include messages on the control panel or reminders should you forget to remove a photo or document from the inside of the scanner unit. Lastly, this printer allows you to print from anywhere at any time by assigning the printer an email address! What a great feature. I would highly recommend the purchase of this printer because of the print quality for home or small business. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer that gets what you need done! Printer, copier, scanner that does it all! Its got great color range being a 6 cartridge printer and gives you comparable quality prints with similar priced printers. This printer supports SD cards and thumb drives, direct connect via USB, or Wi-Fi, as well as Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Mopria Print Service, and Scan to Cloud! You can be out of the box and ready to print in about 40 minutes (including calibration time) All in all a great well rounded printer that will get all kinds of use in my household. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expression Photo XP8500 The Epson Expression Photo XP 8500 is a compact and versatile piece of equipment. It can operate as a scanner, printer, and copier with a more compact design than other comparable printers. e. It does have an USB port design so you can print directly and an app available to print from your cell phone or other smart device. Even though it has a space saving design it has two paper trays, which means if you want to print a few 4-6 and then a an 8x10 image you can without getting up and swapping out the paper or wasting expensive photo paper. Epson Expression Photo XP 8500 was easy to operate right out of the box. It’s the touch screen controls are easy to navigate and very user friendly. The print time is very fast and quiet and I was impressed the quality of the printing and copying features was not compromised by the speed, and I had no trouble printing photos or documents. I like that it is Wi-Fi enabled and that all I needed was a place to plug it in. So I can put it where it is convenient, and out the way. I am very pleased that Epson Expression Photo XP 8500 has individual ink cartridges for each color and includes a light version of cyan and magenta. This means I am not wasting the ink and only replacing what I need, when I need it. Saving money is always a plus. Keeping it working like brand new is also super easy just follow the on screen prompt. Over all this is a very good product and I would definitely recommend it. Great quality photos, easy to use and very quick, all the things I look for when selecting a printer. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Amazing I am a huge scrapbook person. In the world of going digital and storing on the cloud, I still enjoy printed pictures that can be saved for memories. Memories of a lifetime should be printed with pride and quality. If printing solid quality pictures is your need, this printer is simply amazing. My primary work is in the IT field so setup was fairly seamless. About 35 minutes box to ready to use. If you are not trained this process, reading the directions is key. This printer uses 6 color cartridges versus the normal four. This contributes to the higher quality print yield. Connecting Wi-Fi and syncing the devices can be difficult on any device. This is not the exception. This process was timely and required some troubleshooting. Once set up, the printer easily interacts with any software that you will use. Any device connected to your WiFi has the ability to send to the printer. This is greatly convenient with photos stored on your phone. No download to the computer is required and saves some great time. As part of my testing, I printed several documents. Spreadsheets, letters, flyers, cards, and photos. I compare these pictures to my the same prints on my prior printer that was in the $50 cost range. The difference is astounding. Crisp, clean, more detailed prints. It didn’t matter what paper the print was on, the quality was superbly more noticeable. The printer comes with a higher price tag which may be a barrier to some. If you are looking for a higher quality print, it will be necessary to spend some more to achieve better quality. This printer provides a top of the line professional print within a reasonable budget for the quality you receive. I received the Expression Photo XP-8500 Small-in-One All-in-One Printer as a beta tester.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Headache Printer I was excited to try out this printer. However, it was a hassle to set up, and then even more of a hassle to connect it to my computer. If I want to connect it to another computer, it would take just as long. That alone does not make it worth the price tag. Admittedly, the quality of the photos printed is high. However, for the price of the printer and the headache of setting it up, I'd much rather spend my money to get photos professionally printed. It's a good printer, but not one I'd be willing to recommend to someone to buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Home printer Well, some what impressed but not sold yet. Coming from a Artisan 800 that truly amazed me in its ability to print great looking photos right out of the gate this one xp8500 still needs a bit of tweaking in the settings. I am fussy when it comes to printing and the colors have to be bright and beautiful. Profiling your monitor day/night will give you a different look into this world. I am still hopeful this little guy may fill the void for a home printer but to be honest, if that Artisan 800 had a replacement ink box when maint was needed and additional print papers well I believe I would purchase again. I also run a Epson 2200 for more photoshop printing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding photo prints I have used photo printers for many years--a variety of brands. The Epson XP-8500 produces outstanding photo prints. So far I have used it for 4" by 6" and 5" by 7" prints and I'm very well satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not all that For me, I’m not into printing photos. This was a replacement for a Canon with two paper feeds, one for paper, the other for envelopes. This machine has two paper feeds, but one is dedicated to photos. When I have to print a letter and envelope, I have to switch paper back and forth which is a pain in the butt. When I tried scanning documents I had add an Epson software which had other apps piggybacked to it. Real pain in the butt. Best I can say is the print quality is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best for photos We bought this to replace an Epson WF-3640, which did OK for print, copy, scan, but not so for photos. This is the best printer we have had (two Epson, two HP) for photos. The "standard" mode is good enough, the "high" quality uses too much ink, leaves the print looking like a painting with texture. Only complaint is it is hard to reach in and remove a 3.5x5 or 4x6 print from the tray. Good for home use, but not so for a business, you would get tired of reloading paper. Very quite, better than the thrashing machine noise from the WF-3640.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A bit of a surprise Just picked this up 5-23-19 from local supplier. Setup is quite different from days gone by. Follow the directions and it all goes well. Not much documentation at all regarding normal functions. Will take some time to figure this all out. Hoping for the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW!! Received in one day very well packed in a heavy box. Set up was flawless on both PC and ipad. Using wireless on both. The reason for this purchase was to print pictures. Copy and scan will be used but printing pics is my number 1 priority. I am extremely impressed with the quality of the print. I printed on glossy photo, 4x6, and I believe it couldn't get any better!! This printer replaced a Brother 9330 which gave me nothing but trouble from the wireless connection going down, (had to turn off the printer every two pics to get it to recognize the wireless) wouldn't take photo paper, etc. If you are considering this printer . . . buy with confidence:) .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works right out of the box I purchased this Epson XP-8500 two months ago to replace my aging Artisan 810. The setup was easy although the printer didn't want to print on my 4 x 6 photo paper. I called support and after some time they did figure out how to make it work with my Mac running Catalina 10.15.1 So I am happy with the printer right now and hope in the future they will fix the printer driver for my Mac. I like the size of the printer but do wish that the display was larger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Troublesome Printer I bought this printer as a replacement for my old Epson. I'm sorry I did it. I continually get "Communication Error" and while Epson Support has spent hours trying to fix the problem, including sending me a replacement printer, I still get that error which my Internet provider (who I have worked hours with also) insists it is an Epson Software issue. My printer goes offline every couple of hours and I need to restart it to print each time I need to print. Too frustrating and have spent too much time trying to make this printer work consistently. I wished I never had bought this brand and did more research before purchasing because this problem is not uncommon based on reviews I've read about Epson printers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never got one that worked I have been a dedicated Epson fan for many years for pgoto printing. My old unit was in need of replacement so I picked this one based on the 6 ink colors. I received it in the mail (none of yhe best buys had it in the store). I never made it past the test pattern page. I kept cleaning it and the pattern got worse. After 10 cleanings, i was half out of ink. I took it back and ordered another one. I as m sad to say i had the exact same problem. I took it back as well and got a XP-6100 instead. It only has 4 inks but works fine. Stay away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality Printing I purchased an Epson printer after a relative said "You have to get an Epson". I am glad I took her advice. It's small but has more capabilities than my older bulkier printer. I love that I do not have to connect it to a computer with a wire and it prints beautifully! I was a little disappointed that it did not come with a few paper and photo page samples to try out and help with setup. So maybe think about ordering some when buying your printer. I am happy with my purchase.
