With the ability to scan, restore and archive an extensive range of films and prints at fast speeds, Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner has low power consumption for maximum efficiency and no warm-up time for instant scanning. With 6400dpi optical resolution and 3.4DMAX optical density for film scanning, the Epson Perfection V600 Photo creates high-quality images, meeting the photo and film reproduction needs of photographers.

The Epson Perfection V600 Photo features a built-in Transparency Unit (TPU) that supports full panoramic medium format film. Users have the ability to create digital archives from photos, filmstrips, mounted slides and medium format full panoramic film, making it ideal for preserving important memories and images, as well as photographic reproduction for printing.

Energy Star compliant, Epson's innovative ReadyScan LED technology minimizes power consumption. With the added benefit of no warm-up time, scanning can start as soon as the power is turned on and the scanning of reflective targets is 1.5 times faster than previous models.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from why replacement? I had an older V600. I kept having to "reload" the program. Apple tried but could not fix the problem. I waited several times on the Epson line. So, re-checking the web, the v600 still came out on top overall. So I got a new one. I hope the new one works.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from MISSING NEGATIVE HOLDERS FROM MANUFACTURER PACKAGING Bought this from my local photo retailer. Got a decent price, was excited to scan a bunch of 120. Open the box, set it all up - missing the negative holders! The one thing that makes it useful as a film scanner, and it's not there. Retailer didn't have any other V600's as they're on back order, and it will take at least a week to get negative holders shipped. Overall really unsatisfied, but I still can't speak for the quality of the scanner, since, you know, I can't really use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High-quality, low price I bought the V600 to replace an aging V500 that would occasionally lock up and require a restart of services. I loved the quality and ease of use of the V500 and the V600 is basically identical; I scan to high-resolution TIFF format as my default. The only thing I'd love to see offered is for the software to split multiple reflective images (photos as opposed to negatives or transparencies) into separate outputs. More info on that...when I scan negatives or transparencies (slides) and I pre-scan, the software separates the images into multiple files when scanning. That seems like it would be easy to do with prints as might make some mistakes, but it would provide a much faster way to scan five or six photos in one pass without having to cut them up later to save as separate files.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't appear to work and support doesn't either Doesn't appear to work and support doesn't either. Not happy. Just purchased this and it appears to be so outdated it doesn't work with Windows 10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality for the price So far, I've scanned one very large print, 1 negative, and about 1200 slides. The quality seems good for the price although I haven't used alternative scanners to compare. The slides ranged back to nearly 70 years old. Most of them retained their color although some have become discolored and some were overexposed to begin with. For the slides, following another reviewers recommendations, I used 48-bit color, 2400 dpi resolution and checked the unsharp mask and Color Restoration boxes. I have mixed emotions about the color restoration. Sometimes it improved things and sometimes I was dissatisfied with the result. In general, I felt that with the box unchecked, there was too much blue, but with it checked, there was too much yellow. But, for the most part, I left it checked. I also tried higher dpi settings but found there was no increase in quality of the result and it just made larger files. Overall, I think you get really good quality scans for a good price. It does take up a fair amount of desk space. I also had some trouble with it dropping communications with my computer so that I had to restart the software and turn off and on the scanner. Mildly irritating but it could be because it was going through my docking station.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product and easy to use I bought this a month or month-and-a-half ago to start scanning thousands of pictures of various sizes. They are old photos from the 20s 30s and 40s and newer photos as well. Somewhere very small like 1 by 2 inch.Took this computer nerd around 15 minutes to hook up the machine and another 20 minutes to learn how to use it. At 300 DPI 600 DPI and 1200 DPI it is very fast and the quality of the pictures is so much better than the originals. The cropping feature with the software is absolutely wonderful and allows the scanning process to go much quicker.I would definitely recommend this scanner to anyone trying to capture old photos and numerous photos as I am doing. Great products so far

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pictures We created a family history album and the pictures turned out great, including the ones from the early 1900's. We didn't try the more advanced features, but what we used worked well.
