I now know why I feel tired all the time and have many headaches. My deep sleep and REM sleep are almost non existent and my stress level is high a lot more than it isn’t. I am still working on the calorie side of things because I’m not understanding the readings too well (a work in progress). It has also shown me a lot about myself that I was totally unaware of, which now I can change for the better. I have only just started exercising and have not swum with it on yet so I can not really comment on that side of things yet. I will update my review once I get started on that side of the readings.

The sleep tracker shows I’m asleep way before I actually sleep and it takes a while to register that I’m awake. Close to an hour on each end. Also, the steps seem off. Upon waking, I walked to my bathroom (about 8 feet away) and it said I had already walked 77 steps. I’m hoping I can recalibrate the tracker or something like that to make it more accurate.

It’s very easy to use, stays charged for at least a week on a single charge, wear it day and night and it does not bother me in my sleep. The size is wonderful. I had a similar fit bit and the sizing (product face) was way too large to complete everyday things while wearing it. I love the compact size of this Garmin. Not to mention I use 3 different devices to track my steps and exercises and have found it to be pretty accurate.

However, it takes a very long time to work and I'm not entirely sure it's accurate. I have a finger one that gets significantly different readings. The body battery feature is interesting, but I'm not sure it's accurate. Apparently, I'm currently running on 18% battery, but I feel just fine and functioning.

Only down side is it must be recharged almost daily, so I'm unable to use it for sleep tracking as its the best time for me to recharge it. Would have been a 5 star if i lasted 72 hours instead of 24-30.

The Garmin connect app is amazing. I've only had it for 4 days and I feel better than I have in a long time. It monitors my sleep, my steps, my workouts, my heart rate and my stress level and so much more. I couldn't be happier, I just don't know why it took me so long to get one.

I like the stress function because I've found a somatic response that seems to correlate with higher stress so I can use that to start relaxing when I need to.the only improvement I deeply want is a more direct view of my HRV. While I recognize that the stress function and the body battery are based on HRV, I would love to see the actual HRV.

My health insurance offered a certain amount to put towards any one that I wanted. I went out on a whim and so glad I did. It’s only been about 5 days but this think is a powerhouse. I am holding myself accountable now with exercise, meals, sleep and stress. I am thoroughly enjoying this and am looking forward to seeing what it can do for me and what I can do for myself. I love that it works with My Fitness Pal and it keeps track of my calories, steps, and activities. Looking at the sleep info is so interesting! I’m so glad I chose this product. One of the main reasons I bought this was so I could wear it daily and not have to take it off when I’m swimming since I go to the beach almost every weekend. I love the body battery features and the stress monitoring. It really helps me calculate the types of exercises I need to do and how much I should sleep based on my energy levels. The app also gives you suggestions on the intensity of exercises you should do based on your energy. It also sends little reminders to move when I’m sitting at my desk too long at work. The interface is easy to use once you get used to all the features. This watch is great for the working woman that wants to manage her stress and exercise!

The companion app is a must to fully enjoy this product. For me, the downside is the screen isn't very responsive. I enjoyed the garmin vivosmart hr+ with the larger screen better, so I'm not sure if this is an upgrade for me.

My phone counts all of my step type movements where the watch appears not to count them at all. I will keep my watch but continue to use my phone to keep my step count accurate

I got a Samsung Active2 smart watch for Christmas and I loved it, until I realized that everyone around me was getting 2 to 3 times the number of steps that I was and that no matter how I set preferences I only logged 2 of every 3 floors. The vivosmart is a bit slight on floors, but the step count is much more accurate. I even use the sleep features that I had not due to the size of the Active 2. It is attractive to wear also. I have the purple band.

O2 sats are 1 to 2% less than my pulse ox gets. could do a better job of calculating stair climbing. My steps during my walks seems on target.

I really like the goals you can set. The Sleep monitoring is really useful to understand my sleep cycles. All round it's a great device. I like the interface of the app on the phone. I decided to wear the Fitbit, and the Garmin will just be used for checking Oxygen levels on occasion. Wish I could combine the two.

It's very difficult to see what battery life is left and I didn't see, feel, or hear a warning that battery was low. I will admit, I'm still learning things about this tracker and hope I'll like it as much as I liked my Fitbit. The main reason i purchased the Vivosmart 4 was to keep track of my oxygen levels. I will say this tracker should count the stairs I climb. There are 14 stairs to my house and many times it doesn't recognize my climbing or descending.

It was amazing I was speaking to a certain person and my heart rate increased so much! I am going to avoid that person. The Vivosmart 4 not only does those functions brilliantly, but also tracks my diet through Myfitnesspal and syncs those results into my daily fitness stats. I think it is fun to use, motivational and the Berry color is just pretty. Even though I am a novice with this tracker, I already love it and would reccomend it to anyone.

Set up seemed fairly easy with no complications, and it seems it could be done by almost anyone. Charge up was as expected. This is a small tracker with a small screen, however, it's still big enough to see well. The packaging was small, and nice. My reasons for purchasing the watch was for the SP02 feature, along with the stress tracking. As to the SP02, mainly, I wanted overnight to determine IF my saturation went low, After wearing only (1) night, it seems somehow the switch was not saved, and it did not track my SP02. Will try again tonight. The manual, or SP02 anytime check seems like it takes a bit too long. As to reason 2 for my purchase, stress, and my response to stress, I really don't understand how Garmin reports a stress of 5, or, anything else. Don't understand the individual tracking items that make up the stress level. So at this time, I don't understand stress either. May have to read a bit. The Body Battery thing, combines HRV, HR, PE and maybe a few other things to arrive at a percentage. I was hoping to see what my HRV was as a single report, and not a report of a combination of things that I'm unclear. As to the other features, HR, steps, and so on, I assume they are in working order, but, as I have not concentrated on those, I really could not say. As to the app, repeat the SP02, needs an objective reading on the app, not as a feature of some other reporting like sleep score or body battery. I hope to be able to have a better report in the coming days.

I think it's great to have data of your day, it makes you more conscious about the choices you have and how to make the best out of them. I like the prompts to get up and get moving. My job requires me to sit for the majority of the day, sometimes hours go by and I'm concentrated at work so I don't even notice. These notifications help me take breaks. Go downstairs, get water, breath etc.Also the data about sleep is amazing. I know I'm a light sleeper, but it also shows you the REM time, deep sleep and awake lapses. How many hours you get. Overall it helps me want to be healthy to reach the goals of the day and take better care of myself. And I like wearing it.

But so far i like it very much. I really like the stress monitor, it has been very eye openeing. The body battery though i do not feel is accurate and am a little unclear on how it is calculated. The only thing i wish it had were a BP monitor and i wish the app could track caloric intake. Overall i am satisfied so far.

Like, "always on", 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 15 minues, etc. It shows longer on my cell phone. If I don't have my cell p., I'm stuck. I have to toggle through or kept on "pressing" multiple times just to keep viewing longer, i.e heart rate, steps, sleep, etc..

So I’ve had a few of them) and so far I love it it’s very light weight was simple to pair and start usingIt has way more features then my Fitbit I had and it’s waterproof! So far I’m very pleased! I really didn’t think about changing from Fitbit So I’m very happy my husband did it for me! No more Fitbit troubles for me

It get's sticky when against my skin at night or even during a work out. perhaps the next version should have a changable band. I've only had it a few days, so hopefully nothing else comes up.

Only problem I have found is I asked it to share with my My Fitness Pal app, but it is not sending information like it should. The Garmin is comfortable, alarm works well, and reminders are very helpful. I would definitely recommend this product to others.

No place is there a section that shows all the screens and how they work and what I as the user need to do. The You Tube products are not the solution as they go too fast and there's no written documentation as reference.

However, I was primarily interested in sleep tracking given the number of hours I spend trying to sleep. Trying to sleep registers as light sleep. I tried to train the thing by double clicking and bringing the screen up every so often when I would wake. But, it didn't seem to help. It showed me as sleep while I was clock watching.

The phone Garmin Connect app is really good and informative. The watch itself is lightweight but the display face is in retrospect too small for me and my old eyes. Wish I had sprung for a model with a larger face.

It didn't seem to sync with my iPhone, but after making sure it was fully charged and wearing it for a day everything is working great. I enjoy the watching my sleep results and am still learning all the settings and features this tool has for me to improve my health.

Also vibrates through iPhone notifications, nice. I do like the small size but I can't read the message w/o readers. That is the trade off. You start to figure out the messages after a while though. All in all it is a good motivational tool and does have a lot of features. It has motivated me to get out and move more as well. For the cost it seems like a good value, although this is the only fitness watch I have used.

The running was off by over a mile. Needless to say we took them back, and exchanged for the forerunner 35. The forerunner 35 has been MUCH better, we’re very happy with it.

I went with this mainly due to the HR monitor as my smartwatch does not have that. It is fair on accuracy as I check it against actual pulse taken. I was able to set the notifications for the phone stuff to "off" as I don't need it, the screen is too small for that stuff anyway. I tried the Pulse Ox at night but as it states, using that will deplete the battery in about 4 days vs the 7 day without pulse ox, so I set it back to no pulse ox mode. All in all it seems to be good for tracking daily activity and the app has some intersting data.

I wanted to see my heart rate while I was walking/exercising plus I wanted to see my sleep and stress. It shows me all of those and so much more. It links with MyFitnessPal and Google Fit too. I just find this really difficult to use. I cannot easily turn it on or off or anything, it seems finicky to me. I really like that I can find my phone using the vivosmart as I am always misplacing it around my house. The one feature that does not seem to be accurate is the stairs climbed feature. It only records the stairs climbed once in while, I would guess one third of the time. I looked at the manual and it said to rinse the back of the watch where the tiny holes are and then let it 'air dry'. I did that but it did not fix the problem.

It’s easy to start and save workouts, and the detail it senses is synced to app. Garmin Connect is also simple and has great features, but it displays a different color vivosmart 4 (mine is black) and I’m not sure if I got one with the program or parts of a rose gold unit (shouldn’t effect performance tho).

It turns out they quietly dropped their support for syncing with non-mobile devices. I am done with Fitbit.I checked into the Vivosmart features and decided to give it a try. Garmin Express works beautifully with my computer and the band. It syncs with Cronometer, which I use for nutrition tracking.It is a great band. I do not typically like wearing watches, but the Vivosmart is comfortable and unobtrusive enough to wear 24/7.

I deleted Samsung Health due to inconsistent step patterns, miscalculated macros, and a lack of features as well as information. I proceeded to switch to MyFitnessPal and not only were my macros more accurate and detailed.. it autosyncd to Garmin and calculated my caloric intake/defecit consisently throughout the day with my calories burned. Reading the detailed information within the app came with ease, but the simple feature of being able to double tap and graph and scroll minute by minute is absolutely astonishing!! Pulse Ox is a huge benefit that most trackers lack. The sleep tracking is one of the most accurate and consistent diagnostics I have seen. The body battery is a pretty nifty feature as well. Still learning how to make decisions from it but i can tell its based on all the activity, sleep, and food diary input. All in all.. will be buying another one!

It has the ability to find my misplaced phone, which I loved this feature with Apple Watch. Tracks my walks via GPS, my sleeping schedule, includes a alarm to wake me up, and it even includes stress awareness, and I can receive calls and texts on my watch! Some thing that I would have liked is to change the band, and to be able to use the information from my MyPlate app into this app or the other way around. I’m not sure if I can use my Withings scale app, hopefully I can because that would be a huge let down if I couldn’t.

First it’s a beautiful tracker it looks sleek and it does not look obviously like a tracker I also like the fact that the face does not display the time unless you flick your wrist so it looks like a bracelet It was very easy to set up and start, I also like the fact that features can be customized and enabled or disabled. What I really like is that the tracker does what it is supposed to do and is quite accurate. Basically it’s set and forget it! Finally, I like how the app displays stats that are easy to read and understand.

So I thought I would give it a try and I love it! This tracker offers more features than my Alta did and is much easier to operate. Love the app too! Definitely recommend! Great value!

There is no phone number listed to call for help. Not all features are covered in either manual and some of the icons on the device are not explained. Think I should have gotten the Fitbit Versa instead.

Heart beat monitoring and body battery are super useful.The software has some problem with timezones changes though. Body battery is stuck at yesterday's graph. Sleep graph shows EDT in Stages and PDT in Pulse Ox. I would definitely give 5 stars after some software fixes.

It does measure changes in elevation where I live as steps though I have not done any stairs. Nice streamlined slim design for women.

Also, I wish that it would show the number of steps I've taken instead of a graphic. Otherwise, it is slim, convenient & pretty efficient.

It took me a little to get used to the applications of the watch and I see it has more options than I need but for someone who really does a lot of different exercises it is a great watch. It is worth every penny and i am learning to love it. I had a different type before (which cost less and was easier to follow for what I did - mostly walking) but like I said I am learning to love this one.

I was diagnosed hyperthyroid/Graves disease in February and browsed Fitbits like crazy but I found the design unappealing. My sister in law came to visit last week and showed me her vivosmart 4. After being taken off of beta blockers recently I thought it important to know my heart rate as I did not recognize I was experiencing high resting heart rate when first diagnosed. I have had one night recorded with this device and so far very informative.

The 'flick your wrist' to see time, doesn't exist. It doesn't always respond to the two tap behavior. Had a Fitbit before this and thought this would be more professional looking which it is - BUT at the sacrifice of essential features -- if the UI is updated, this would be a super device.

It’s interesting to use for weightlifting, it correctly recorded the type of activity, not all the time, but some. However, it was difficult to use for that activity. Spent a lot of time between sets setting it up. I wish the face was a bit offset from center. I have to over rotate my wrist to see it flush. Besides that, it’s Day 4 and I’m happy with it so far.

I "WAS" a fitbit user but have been converted over to the Garmin side...LOL. Wears the same as my Fitbit tracker but the info that the Vivosmart4 offers I think is way better than the Fitbit. I actually purchased this Garmin tracker because I needed a tracker that would sink with MyFitnessPal. My fitbit sinks with MyFitnessPal but it was only lasting on a charge for about 4 days so I am hoping that the Vivosmart4 lasts 7days like the manufacture says. So far I LOVE it .

One morning it died without any kind of low battery warning. That was the third day I had it, the battery is claimed to last for 7 days. Trying to get it to charge has been difficult. I wish it would tell you when it was connected and charging instead of just having to leave it plugged in and hope for the best. Otherwise, it is a good device and I do enjoy it.

I think that this tracker is actually one of the best that I could have ever chosen. I'm extremely happy with it in every way. And Garmin is an excellent company oh, and totally and completely supports their trackers and makes the experience of using them fantastic.

So, I wanted something small that would fit more like a bracelet. The Garmin vivosmart 4 is the perfect size, and it has all the functionality I wanted.

In fact, it's the only fitness tracker I've ever tried on that actually looks good on my skinny arm. I wanted a tracker that would measure my heart rate as well as count steps, and while researching the features on various trackers, I was intrigued by the "body battery" and stress measurement features on the Garmin. I have found it to be quite accurate all around. This is the best fitness tracker wristband I've ever tried. If you're looking for a slim, lightweight, accurate tracker, this is the one!

I particularly like having access to my pulse ox at any time, and the sleep tracker is fascinating. It does nudge me toward better habits, is easy to use, and will almost certainly change my life for the better. I have an iPhone, and I bought this instead of Apple Watch because Apple Watch lacks the pulse ox feature. The Garmin pairs just fine with my iPhone, and the app is simple to use.

The other thing that's pretty amazing is that it automatically determines an activity like walking then tracks your distance and time. I feel more confident about my health especially when having general access to a doctor these days is a bit hard.

I was a bit skeptical about the body battery but after a few days I can definitely tell the difference. The band is thinner than other trackers and soft. The vibration is enough to wake me up on it's highest setting. I've challenged my child to a step off on their vívofit® jr. 2. That was a lot of fun. If I could change something, I wish I could change the clock face, I don't care for the current choices. Something that is a combination of a few of the options. However, that isn't a big thing for me. Overall I really like this fitness tracker. I look forward to getting healthy with Garmin.

I love the features - especially the sleep tracking as I have sleep apnea... I figure the data will help my doctor further my case. Everything else aside; I really like the comfortable fit, and the accuracy is commendable - I was surprised how close it was to the maps for the area. Overall, though I'm still learning the unit (which is why the four star), I'm really glad I bought this. GO Garmin!

I workout almost every day at a boot camp and the fitness tracker has all of the features I’m looking for (and then some - such as the stress and body energy meter) plus it’s waterproof. I’m not a fan of bulky fitness trackers so the sleek and elegant design of this one are right up my alley for all-day wear. I purchased the gray and rose gold color and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and stylish device.

Have trouble with the responsiveness of wake up for the screen. Again sometimes it works immediately and other times it takes multiple double taps, and no my fingers are not cold. I love the sleep info it records. Just not sure this is ready for prime time.

It alerts me when my pulse is high and my oxygen level is low through the PulseOx. My doctors will be happy that Garmin’s monitoring through a chart my sleep, pulse, pulse ox, exercise and so many other things.

It may survive the experience, but I discovered setting up the ap that it does not record heart rate while swimming. This should be made explicit in the ads. It is a bit finicky, as i had to re sync a few times to get it working sort of consistently. The rotate wrist function works about a third of the time (yes it is activated and I have it on the chosen wrist). I chose it for certain features and I'll tolerate it's finicky personality as it was the only model that fit my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!I've only owned this for a week but I absolutely love it. It was so easy to link up with the phone app. All of my stats are a tap away. I'm already becoming more active as I can see my set goals being met as they count down. Great motivation tool! The size is just right for daily wear too. So far the battery life has lasted as stated too. Highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incorrect mileageI know this device doesn’t have gps but when I use the run feature it overestimates my distance by a good mile, that seems like a lot. Also I’m struggling to keep the band clean, residue doesn’t wipe off that easily. Otherwise I like it.

I find particularly helpful the sleep pulse Ox which has helped me to decide to use CPAP as has been recommended. My running days are over but the reminder to get up and move combined with step and stair counts may well be a life saver. Movement is crucial for me and I didn't know how badly I needed these reminders.

I am no spring chicken and I was able to set it up with no help from my children. The different areas that are tracked are clear and easy to understand. Seems to be accurate and the battery is long lasting. I would definitely recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love love loveI got this for my 52nd birthday. The set up was easy, I love all the features. It's also very stylish. I have the maroon one with the gold trim. The badges are a great motivator. I can't say enough about this tracker. The battery life is superb-7 days.I also like that I can link it up to Sparkpeople-an app like myfitnesspal. I would definitely recommend this tracker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Quite Nicely!Garmin has always had a good reputation for me, and when my fitness tracker's technology was no longer supported swimming, I had to look for a new one. My requirements were that the fitness track had to accommodate swimming AND it had to be a discreet device. All reviews of fitness trackers pointed me toward the Garmin vivosmart 4. Now that COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted at my pool, it's been back in the water, and the Garmin vivosmart 4 works quite nicely!
