Great product
We received it quickly and it works great. States it prints about 2,000+ pages but I feel like it last more than that. My last carterage lasted me 2 years while I printed lots of research papers during my Masters degree. Hoping this will last the same.

Looks Great; Cartridges Exhausted Too Soon
I use my new laser printer (my first laser) for home-based work and specifically chose one with a higher monthly duty cycle. I needed speed vs. my old HP inkjet and am very pleased with the laser's performance regarding both output speed and (spectacular) print quality. However, the (black) cartridge must be replaced WAY too frequently. I've tried both the 305A and the 305XL, and the number of pages I have gotten out of each seems similar (maybe 500 pages). The documents I print are text heavy, but I think my old inkjet printed more pages per ink cartridge than the 305 toner cartridges do. At $90 -- $120/toner cartridge, the laser printer is not proving cost-effective. That's quite disappointing. But I need speed when printing under deadline so my inkjet isn't an option. I've owned HP printers since 1997 and this is the first time I've been disappointed in the number of pages output per cartridge. HP, you need to troubleshoot for better performance from the 305 toner cartridges. I can't recommend them.

Get more yield than suggested!
We purchased the HP Laserjet 400 color M451dn, before that we went through countless All-in-1 printers and this is night and day difference. As a dedicated Printer for our office, this printer is fast and efficient. The yield for black 305A cartridge is 2200 pages we always get at least 3000 pages(lasts about 1.5 months for our office.) before changing it out. The color cartridges are averaging close to 8000 pages yield(lasts about 4-5 months), It says the yield is 2600, granted we do not do a lot of color, but I feel we are getting our money's worth.

Black Cartrige Below Spec Performance
Had to replace 305A black cartridge after only 1256 pages printed when should get around 2200 pages. In other words, I only got 57% of the printed pages I should have received before needing to replace the cartridge. I'm on the second black cartridge now. It has printed 264 pages and shows 700 more remain. So again looks like will only get around 1000 pages. Like the HP LaserJet 300 color MFP but print cartridges need to be replaced too often and are expensive. Should note that cyan, magenta, and yellow cartridges appear to be near spec. Please HP, FIX the Black Cartridge problem. Get it near specifications.

Received Used Cartridge
When this cartridge was installed after being opened from the sealed box and protective wrap, the printer said it was a used cartridge and didn't go through the process of verifying I had installed a new HP cartridge. Very unhappy to pay full price for a new cartridge and receive a used one.

Buyer Beware!!!
They're usually spot on with clean, new laser cartridges. This one, however, was flagged as "used" or "Counterfeit" during the cartridge authentication service window that pops up to validate the cartridges. And this was purchased from HP no less!?

First Time User Impressed and Pleased
Not had much luck with other manufacturers product purchases online, but HP Store was different. The price was excellent, the toner arrived in perfect condition, and they were quick. I will be using them again.

DON'T CHANGE CARTRIDGES TOO SOON
THE PRINTER SAYS THEY ARE EMPTY BUT I STILL GET ANOTHTER 300 TO 500 PAGES WITH COLOR CARTRIDGES & IF YOU TAKE THEN OUT & SHKE THEM I GET EVEN MORE. RIGHT NOW I HAVE 3 COLOR CARTRIDGES THAT TOLD ME TO CHANGE THEM JAN 5 2014 IT IS ALMOST MAY & I STILL HAVE THE SAME COLOR CARTRIDGES, SOME TIMES A PROTION OF THE PAGE GETS LIGHTER , THEN YOU TAKE THE CARTRIDGE OUT & SHAKE IT SIDE TO SIDE & REDIDTRIBUTE THE TONE INSIDE & I GET ANOTHER 50 GOOD COPIES BEFORE I DO IT AGAIN.

Toner replacement
First time in two years I needed to purchase new toner. It was a little confusing at first because there are so many types of this printer and some of the them use different toner cartridges. Measure twice, cut once and the correct toner was ordered and arrived in a timely fashion (COVID-19 permitting). After disinfecting the box, the installation was easy and returning the old cartridge was simple. I gave it four stars because the cost (as usual for cartridges) was a little high. Great printer though so you get what you pay for.

Cartridge replacement
The product is good but expensive! The first time a cartridge was shipped the cartridge was used and broken. HP replaced it quickly and the next one worked fine. I have had the printer for a number of years and it still works well!

Black Cartridge OK
Unlike the color cartridges, when I had to replace the black cartridge, I had printed a substantial number of pages, possibly close to the nominal 1200 or so. The order came quickly and the print quality is good.

HP products, support and services are not what they used to be.
I have nothing but praise and positive feelings for HP products. That is while they are brand new, under warranty, and working properly. I wish I could say the same when it comes to support and service after the warranty expires.
I purchased my HP LaserJet Pro 400 color as a second laser printer based on the price and high quality of prints. It has been pampered with little use. Toner cartridges have always been purchased from reputable stores, such as Staples or HP.
To make sure cartridges are always available when needed, I order them in advance. BAD idea! There have been issues with toner leakage where the store will not accept responsibility because of the time laps. Not even partial credit toward a new cartridge.
Recently, after installing a black cartridge, the LCD flashed “used toner in use,” and I lost my network printing capability. I received no valuable support from HP and resorted to paying Geek Squad to troubleshoot. No luck there, even after removing and reinstalling drivers.
Once again, I contacted HP Support and asked if replacing the “supposedly counterfeit” black toner with a new one ordered directly from HP will solve the “Printer Offline” problem. I was assured that it would.
Now the new cartridge is installed, and the printer went through a series of calibrations and cleaning, and I am back where I started! No error message on the LCD and the printer is still offline.
I have contacted a local computer store to test the network card, which I suspect has failed.
I would gladly throw this printer in the trash if I did not have $800 worth of new toner cartridges.
