Rated 5 out of 5 by from A High Maintenance Printer This printer is high maintenance. Frequently it does not produce the prints that I need, and it is extremely temperamental. I have tried many recommended fixes from the HP website or from the software already installed on my printer, but the remedies work sometimes but many times not. If I fool around with different fixes long enough, I usually can get an acceptable print, but the printer often breaks down again a few weeks later. I have found that re-installing the printer driver from the HP website helps maybe 40% of the time. Attaching the printer to my computer with a cable works improves performance with perhaps a 60% ratio. I would not recommend the printer.

I thought it may be the printer, so I loaded the other black cartridge (it was a 2 cartridge box), and it worked fine. I ended up throwing out one of the two black cartridges; will go back to buying at Staples.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product failed to satisfy Have been a customer for well over 3 years, I just ordered ink for a new copier, received it on time, removed the old cartridge and placed in my recycle bag, then I put one of the new cartridges in, made a copy, it seemed VERY light in print..... took cartridge back out, checked it, replaced it back in my printer, it alerted me that I had just put in a " used cartridge".... which was odd for only printing one page, I proceeded to make another copy, and it came out BLANK, I carefully removed the cartridge again, put it back, it again said I had put in a used cartridge, I hit copy, and it came out blank again. Frustrated because I had my boss and a client waiting on me, I removed the cartridge, opened up the second new cartridge, put it in, hit copy and it came out ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, unlike the light print from the first cartridge. I'm not sure if I received a "lemon cartridge", but have never had this happen before. I am hoping HP will make this right by offering me an exchange on this 'bad' ink cartridge, at no extra cost to me, considering. I would like to continue referring HP to all my family, friends, colleges and clients, I enjoy the ease of shopping for my office needs on line with HP, and the convenience of next day delivery to my door! Can't beat it!

The HP 564 black 2-pack cartridges produce deep blacks and rich grayscale shading, even when printing multiple pages at a time. My only small complaint is that cartridges seem to last 2 months, maximum, in our house. I’m okay replacing them frequently for excellent quality, never-smudge printing.

My favorite thing is the packaging to return empty ink cartridges postage free to HP. I like recycling whenever possible.

Until I put the first cartridge in, the printer had been working fine. Color cartridges were installed the day prior, so we're also fairly new.

Other retailers use Internet Explorer which is a much better medium for selling your product! Please consider doing the same.

Unfortunately, I happen to have one of the printers with the chronic problem (as I found out through the forums) of the black ink jet being clogged. My printer needed to be replaced, and of course, the new one takes different cartridges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wrong cartridge!!! I ordered HP 564 twin black cartridge for my Mom's printer. I also ordered a 564 XL. The 564 XL is about 1/2 inch wide and fit just fine. However the 564 twin pack is also 1/2 inch wide and this does not fit in her printer slot. Apparently there are 2 different widths of the 564 regular cartridge - How does a person know which to order??? Since we already opened 1 of the twin pack, we can't return it. What do we do to get the correct size for her machine?????

It is much too large. When I extracted the existing cartridge from the printer it was labeled HP Black Ink Cartridge 61. This, despite the fact that reliable documentation confirms that cartridge 564 is the proper one for the HP 3510 printer. It is worth noting that my printer was previously owned when I bought it.

All I do is print postage labels from paypal in black ink, yet it drinks my color ink and the black ink. I know for a fact that this cartridge doesn't print anywhere near 250 pages before running out. Super fast printer, quiet, does everything I need it to do but it drinks the ink. Would not recommend.

It only took a few minutes and the problem was solved, my printer was useable, and I was able to order needed ink. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Messy This was the second HP 564 Black ink cartridge I've snapped open that has spewed and dripped black ink everywhere, on my clothes, my desk, my hands, and my carpet. Keep in mind this is opening it according to the directions! The color ink cartridges for the same Photosmart printer do not leak ink like this. In addition to the permanent stains the black cartridge causes, so much ink is lost in the initial gusher that the cartridge only lasts through about 100 pages -- nowhere near the 250 pages advertised. Here's hoping HP corrects this problem ASAP. If not I'll be looking for a new non-HP printer next time!

My printer was working fine with the prior HP ink that had run out. We cannot figure what's going on. The printer engages as though it's printing but no ink is left on the paper and nothing prints. I'd like my money back!

Could not find the tools section to clean heads. Tried googling for instructions. Finally after searching for a couple of hours, found a site where the cleaning was done thru wi fi. There were still streaks after 2 cleanings.After a few more cleanings it does not print black at all. Previous to this, I had a HP printer for years without major problem.

There is a glowing blue light that stays on the whole time so we need to power down the printer and only power it up when actively in use. And the power switch is in a most inconvenient spot in the back of the printer. My prior HP printer had a sleep mode when not in use.

The only caution I would give to others is not to depend on the page estimates (number of pages each ink cartridge will print). In my experience they have seriously over-estimated the number of pages. I know HP uses some kind of "accepted" standard in showing page estimates, but whoever came up with that is probably not an end-user of the product.

Purchased HP official ink to be sure it would guarantee to work because I rely on my printer for my home business but it did not work. Cleaned the printer heads, went to HP website to be sure I wasn't doing anything wrong & even watched a YouTube video to try to resolve the problem.
