New cartridges were delivered next business day and the ink works well and is a great deal to buy the cartridges with extra ink/printing capacity if you need to print more frequently which I am temporarily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from expensive cartridge, little or no ink i bought two 60XL cartridges, which are expensive but advertised to yield up to 3 times the pages of the regular cartridges. one cartridge did not yield even one printed page.. ink evidently too dry to function properly. the second one is printing properly, but on the second page it printed, the sensor reports the ink level is low. i phoned to complain about the first cartridge, and they are sending a replacement. i will be phoning tomorrow about getting a replacement for the second cartridge, and will post a report of HP's response online..

They have also always given me a lower price if the price on their website is higher than a competitor. The biggest plus for me, by far, is the quality of HP cartridges. I tried a knockoff one time. It was a mess. HP always comes through. They are the best!

None of them, approx 6 to 8, seenmed to work after refilling. I know that all of these could not be my fault as I have had good luck in past refilling.

I think I'll buy a different brand printer next time. HP eats ink, or doesn't put enough ink in the cartridges to begin with.

There is no way it would be even close to print 600 pages. 100-200 pages maybe and the ink is gone. I bought the cartridge two months ago. I almost always used the fast/economic setting.

I have put it in, taken it out, repeatedly, and the printer keeps telling me there is something wrong with the cartridge. It is the right type of cartridge, the color one works perfectly, am actually about to need to buy a new one. But the black cartridge seems to be a dud. /=

And you really can print a lot of pages with just one cartridge. Mine more than got me through a semester of english, gen chem 2, and gen bio 1 where I had to print off a ton of notes and pre-labs and such.

It seems I am always buying ink and all I print are documents, no fancy graphs, etc. This is a very expensive product for what you get. I would not recomment a printer that uses the 60XL based on my experience.

The cartridges always work and there is no trip to the office supply store--ordering from HP means that the box is deivered to your door. Time and money are saved!

Am disappointed in the black XL insofar as print quantity. 95% of my printing is black; a regular color cartridge goes a long way for me. Not so either the regular or XL black. HP has promos on dual pack black & color cartridges but that's no bargain. The so-called bargain price shown here is no bargain as far as I'm concerned. I think HP ink cartridge prices are way too high, most especially for black ink, which is most in demand.

Now it will not run with the original color cartridge and new black cartridge in at the same time. Have to take out one of the cartridges to make it work. I installed it on 4/15/2012 and had to replace it on 07/26/2012 because after printing less than a ream of plain white paper, no photographs, I demanded a replacement. The HP site does say that a 60 XL cartridge will print UP TO 600 pages the fact that I got much less than that is unconscionable. I am NOT a great fan of talking to a representative half a world away when the Headquarters is less than 30 milesw from where I am writing this review.

I decided to keep a running tally of number of copies I printed with this ink cartridge. All I got was 310 economy black and white copies. No where near the advertised up to 600 copies. The ink is too expensive with so little return. I'm switching printers as this is a consistent observation of mine.

Initial price is a little high, but customer discount and coupon offers help to keep it a reasonable purchase, and free next business day shipping is a nice perc.Good customer service is also a plus.

At your invitation, I read these reviews and ratings and find them to reflect disappointment and dissatisfaction with the 60 and 60XL cartidges by other users in terms of their capacity to print the numbers of copies advertised. And they are excessively expensive.Like those users who feel trapped in a costly situation with an under-performing cartridge, and not having any alternative except buying another printer, I join the chorus! What are you doing to fix this serious and disappointing deficiency?

When I went to check out I put in the discount code and it reduced the amount by 20%...but once I put in my credit card info and completed my transaction the discount had disappeared. I had to call HP and they had to cancel the 1st transaction and re order with the discount. Just beware of this and check your final order to be sure the discount went through. They did not hassle me but I DO NOT LIKE HAVING TO REPEAT MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION TO SOMEONE AND THEY ARE REPEATING IT ALOUD FOR EVERYONE to hear...that puts my private information at risk....that right now is my only complaint...I will judge later if these cartridges last and print what they say they will..as for the printer...I love it so far..no complaints

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PRINT IN FAST DRAFT MODE TO SAVE INK!!! I only print in fast draft mode because I am impatient and don't have a lot of time to wait for regular speed printing. If you want to save money on ink... print in that mode. It is easy to get to on your print set up features when you go to print. I also never replace my cartridge till I see the ink is faint on my paper, not when the computer tells me to, I replace when I am completely out of ink. I also go to cost-co and have my HP cartridge refilled, you can do that at least 3 times. The trick when you are going to refill them is this, when they run out of ink put them in a zip lock bag and squeeze the air out and don't wait more than a week to be refilled or else they will dry up and cost-co won't be able to fill them. If you are in doubt always take them in to be tested for free. It is a lot cheaper to refill about $14.99 at the most, it doesn't ruin your printer, your printer may flash a message unauthorized ink or something like that, it doesn't matter it still will print your document. I have gone through reams of paper printing this way on the same cartridge. Good Luck.

It feels as though I reup ink cartridges waaay too often and I am eager to see how long this super X one lasts. In the mean time, I am sold on ordering on line! I always think I can beat the price if I do the labor of "fetching" it. Now I'm convinced on-line orders are the better way!!!

I can't justify $360 just to support a printing function. I used to be a big HP fan, I had one at work that was a real workhorse. I will looking for more practical solutions the next time I buy a printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worth the price I have purchased the "remanufactured" cartridges before and usually have had a problem where they don't work and have to be replaced or start to get gunked up before they should be anywhere near empty. Also, the "fuel" indicator on the reman's doesn't work so you have to guess when it's going to run out of ink. I don't make hundreds of print outs so I will buy new cartridges even though they are more expensive than remans.

Not even a ream of paper from this cartridge, mostly text, and a lot of web pages, and worksheets, so not really dense text. This is my 4th HP inkjet, going back to a Deskjet 500 (?) in the early 90s. This has the worst in usage I've ever had. Disappointing.

Either the printer requires far too much ink, or the cartridge is dispensing it incorrectly. In either case perhaps HP could rectify the situation by offering the Xl cartridge at the regular cartridge price.

Print quality is ok .but it's cheaper in the end to buy a printer that takes a toner cartridge. I don print that much but it still would be better. Make that step up and you won't regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What do you expect from an Ink Jet? I've owned many laser and Inkjet printers from Canon, Epson, and Lexmark. It never fails to amuse me that so many folks complain about the small number of pages they can print with the OEM cartridge. When you consider that the cost of the printer, why expect the OEM cartridge to last a long time. Even HP admits on its website that these sample cartridges have limited capacity. If you are serious about printing, use a laser multipage printing in black ink. Reserve your Inkjet for photos and full color projects. I'm still using an HP 6840 wireless with duplex attachment and the ink for that is not inexpensive. However, as one reviewer noted, you can watch for specials, try Costco or order online from HP. I have tried store brand recycled cartridges, filled old cartridges using little bottles and an eye-dropper. My printer can't recognize the recycled or refilled cartridges and I have not found them to be an economical substitute, so I keep returning to the old standby HP Ink. I my first PC was a Trash 80. In those intervening years, I have come to realize that HP printers still provide the best quality printing for the money. I've found that, while Ink seems to be expensive for all makes and models, when you compare the finished product, I think most folks will stay with HP.

I have been using the HP AIO D110 for several months now and love it! I, too, was experiencing running out of ink too quickly. Changed my printer setting to "Fast/Economy" for my general printing ~ problem solved. Yes, I will use "normal/everyday" for better printing needs, but even for professional printing needs are fine with "Normal." Try it!

This isn't true because the ink does not go a full 600 pages. Whereas at least the 60 ink did the full 200 pages plus a little more. 60XL isn't really saving money. Mine barely went 300 pages.

My last 2 laptops were not and my next printer won't be. I print a lot of instructions for online work I do and find my all in one printer expensive to use. The ink drains in no time. The print quality is good but for my purposes I need a cartridge that produces loads of copies. My old HP printer did better. Progress should be a move forward - not backwards. I'm seriously considering dumping this machine in favor of one that is more economical.

We are very disappointed in the amount of copies we get out of the hp 60 black ink. The cartridge is supposed to make about 200 copies. We don't even get 50. This is ridiculous. Why can't HP make a cartridge that does what it says it will. Someone said it is not the printer but the ink. Well, it is not the ink but the manufacturer. HP, we sure wish you would address this problem and do something about it. Thank you.

Being how the economy is now, I would highly recommend direct HP purchases. They offer free shipping on a one day to another business day. I don't have to waste gasoline on my vehicle to go to shop at a store, or to deal with long lines at the checkout stands. After the first washing, I can hardly see what is left on the label. I am using inkjet printable fabric by Milliken. I had a different brand of printer before and it worked very well. I'm not sure if the problem is the HP printer or the HP ink.

My docs are average -- by no means "dense" print/graphics, so that can't be the issue. At this rate who can afford an HP printer?!!

I wlill no longer be using HP printers becausee of the high cost of replacement ink. I WILL FIND PRINTERS FOR BOTH HERE AND MY COMPANY THAT HAVE INK PRICE THAT DO NOT EQUAL THE PRICE OF THE PRINTTER IN TWO REFILLS.

However, I can no longer use the draft option and have to use the normal option in order to get acceptable print. In the long run, I wonder if this XL cartridge on normal is any more economical than the standard cartridge on draft.

I have been faithful to HP but it is getting much too expensive. I report on products with other companies but they don't control it as you do so you most likely won't publish this as I am saying you are too expensive. You will most likely pull out the part that you can get ink for much less that isn't your "authentic" ink. It is just ink. Have a nice day. Marlyeen

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More Ink than the 60 but... For the cost of the 60XL compared to the regular # 60 ink cartridge, this is not really that much of a better buy. The XL does make more copies than using the #60 but not that much more. The color and clarity are very good! I opened a new pack of 500 sheets of copy paper when I put the XL in my printer. I do not print out anything but documents. My copy paper package is not even half empty and I am out of ink (again). This is costly PLUS time consuming. There is no other ink that will work in my printer other than what is offered (the 60 or 60XL) so I have no choice but to continue to be a consumer of a product that I am not happy with. I like my HP printer. Wouldn't trade it for the world but it's costing me to keep ink in it and I dont feel it is the printer's fault but rather the fault of the ink.

Cost is just about the same as say a Wal-Mart, etc. But you can not bet the free shipping. For someone like myself who lives 30 miles from the nearest large town, this is perfect. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing Although these cartridges provide clear readable copies there is no way that they last for 600 pages. They are quite expensive and have to be changed often. My disappointment with this product is such that I would never again purchase any HP printer. Other company's printers I have used provide far longer lasting cartridges which are more economical, provide equally high quality copies and I shall return to one of these the next time I purchase a printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Change printer settings to get more I use the F4580 All-In-One. After installing, the first thing I did was to print a test page on the "Fast Draft" option. The color is great and uses far less ink than the regular setting. I don't know if this is what HP used for determining the # of pages from each cartridge, but it makes a huge difference. On otehr printers I could certainly tell a difference using the economy settings, but with this one I can not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Genuine ink doesn't work I bought the genuine ink cartridge because it was supposed to be good for the printer. I put it in, and it won't align. I take it out, and put it in again. Same problem. My printer won't print black. I finally took it out, and put in another cartridge which works fine, but this one was a total loss: I can't get it to work. Plus there is no warranty or return information easy to find to report my issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP60 XL vs HP60 I brought this printer 2 months ago and I have ran thru 2 color printers and 4 black printers, and now I am having to order a new black and color cartridges. I printed out around 45 pages on the XL 60 and it is now low so I have to order a new one, yes they are cheap and the printers are great but the lenght of time you can print is just horrible. I do not recommend buying any HP Printer due to the cartridges. It is cheaper these days to buy a new printer every time than buy the cartridges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ink Nightmare You can't use any cartridge but the 60/60XL ink for HP Deskjet F2430. Both ink cartridges are money draining nightmares. The XP last a little longer, I thought the 60 was a defect when it ran out so quick the first time. I had received the printer as a present and too late to return it, discovered the horrific expense of ink usuage. I rarely print. I save files & email rather than print. HP should sell ink cartridges (black & color) that cost less in a year than buying a new printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the HP Printer / Hate the low ink yield The 60 XL cartridge, while it does yield far more than the 60 cartridge, yields far fewer than the 600 page yield it touts. My old HP printer used loads less ink. The new HP, though the quality is excellent, uses up ink at a frightening rate. You may want to try what I've been doing: for documents that don't need super high print quality, I've been using the Font Color command and choosing to print in one of the darker shades of gray. I have no idea if it will make a difference but after buying my third ink cartridge I thought I had to try SOMETHING.

We do a modest amount of printing but are buying cartridges every 30 to 60 days. We are not getting the number of prints that HP claims for these cartridges. It appears to me that the reason that HP sells their printers at such a reasonable cost is that they plan to make their profit on the ink cartridges. We can either buy inexpensive printers and pay extra for the ink or buy expensive printers that use less ink. Depending on how much you print and how long you keep a printer, your total cost of ownership plus ink expense will probably be about even.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not meet expectations - runs out ! I just loved my last HP printers (small photo printers) that just printed 4x6 and 5x7's. I used them for years making photos for note cards. I upgraded to a larger photo printer and the ink required is the 60 or the 60XL. I agree it gives a great quality print, but it does not let you print the quantity of prints as advertised. Also, I have a son that uses it to print just documents and when I was not there, he said it ran out of ink with about 150 pages printed. He tried using the gray scale print also.............. So, I have read what the others have written and talked to a lot of salesmen in the office supply business about my concerns. So many said that they were getting the same complaints and they were being forced (not to lie to customers) to let them know, if they asked, that the Canon and other printers did better with their ink . HP, please wake up, your customers and printing offices are passing this on....... It is sad to love the quality of photo prints but you are just not putting in enough ink !!!!!!!!

Went to Settings and tried all the options for a solution, printing 29 copies (I counted!), none worked. Its as if the black ink cartridge I purchased from you is dry or empty because the print is of very poor quality. Will not use this service again.

I have had refills in the past and was not satisfied with the overall performance and the amount of prints I got. Ordering throught HP I get a regular 15% discount with my purchase and usually money off coupons. I really like the next day delivery which is very convienient, and keeps me from having to drive to a computer store to purchase cartridges. Fast, Easy, and Convienient that is what I like. My biggest complaint--the ink runs out much too soon. In the beginning I constantly received a message advising me that I needed to purchase another ink cartridge even though it showed I still had ink. Apparently the problem was fixed due to the number of complaints and the involvement of government officials. I still have the problem of running out of ink too soon. I've solved the problem to a degree. If it's not anything of importance I have print, I only use the color cartridge to print. My favorite color is "red" which is appropriate. Eventually I'll research other product models for a future purchase. Since the shipping is free it's a great deal. Plus, I can do the ordering while still in my pajamas. What can I say? I got tired of running out to the store to purchase more ink.

The scanner pooped out after the first year and now the stupid flap with all the controls on it fails to open and jams up the paper and it’s just a big ol mess. Done with HP printers for a while. Pretty sure they’re in cahoots with the airlines for printing out full color boarding passes in full color with all the ads. So. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems to work well! I can only address the HP 60XL "high yield" subjectively since I have no way of doing so objectively. It seems that HP could weave into their software a way of objectively measuring the yield of any cartridge that is used in their printers so the user really KNOWS the true advantage of the "High Yield" cartridge. Until then, I have no choice but accept their word that I am, indeed, getting my money's worth. Giving me feed-back on ink levels seems more complex then counting the number of printed pixels or dots.

I had to replace my old printer (HP PSC 1315xi all-in-one photo printer,which I LOVED) with a deskjet F2400 all-in-one printer and the printer goes through ink very quickly. I've gone through 2 ink cartridges to not even one package of paper. My old printer was much better with the ink and it was not an expensive printer (about $50.00). Yes, the ink was about the same price but I usually ran out of paper before I ran out of ink! I wish they would use the old style printer ink capability with the new printers, I wouldn't feel like I was wasting money on ink all the time!

I have tried less inexpensive alternatives to OEM cartridges and none of them were truly any savings considering the loss of performance and sheer frustration that comes with the reduced quality, my experience at least. I am pleased that HP offers the XL cartridges, however home printing has priced itself, in general, into the "convenience" category as far as I'm concerned, as I can have pictures and documents printed professionally for less than I can print them myself. So far, HP continues to give me decent quality options for all the times when I need to print something myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Bargains" do not always save money Thinking that I could save money, I bought some black ink cartridges at a reduced price because they were "recycled," i.e., refilled with black ink and resealed. Apparently, they were not at all what they were meant to be. I did NOT save money; the cartridge ran out after only 100 pages or so, the indicator did not work and I had to change it out while it was supposedly "full," and the print quality was poor with smudging and blank spots. Therefore, I returned to HP and your usual quality where 600 pages on the XL Black Cartridge prints out at least 600 pages.

I've lost count of all of the cartridges I've bought. As another reviewer stated, I don't think you get anywhere near 600 pages and I almost always use the Fast/Economical setting on my printer.

I even tried having them refilled at the store. Bad Idea! HP is the only way to go. They just plain always work. Don't waste your time. Buy HP.

The cartridge loaded fine but it took 28 pages of attempted printing to get the desired black printing color from the cartridge. I switched to the combo pack black cartridge and it was excellent.

Used only half a ream of paper. I own HP stock (HPQ) and know that it is a quality company. Your new big guy will be too busy to read this but his managers need to not let the little things slip.

The 60XL was doing great as usual but the HP printer was on it's last legs , so to speak and right in the middle appx of these last 2 cartridges it started losing parts, a small piece at a time from somewhere inside and would pick up a new noise until the other day last week it just froze up and that was the end of the old HP Photosmart C4795. I have just today, on 4/3 ordered on line a new HP printer and a supply of print cartridges , etc to go with it and expect to have it by Friday.4/5 according to the "order status" email that I recently received. So the 60XL is NO More. Just a part of my past and the used ones will got to "used/old cartridge recycle" at my local Staple store along with 2 other old worn out 3 in 1 printers and used up ink cartridges that I have in my home office storage that have been awaiting their chance at another life out in the world. I have had them since I retired in March of 2005. Great printers all of them.

I print church bulletins 50 -2 sided copies and announcements 50 -2 sided copies - so I get 200 copies out of the 60 black. I just bought my first XL black cartridge and printed 300 copies and at 1/2 use of the cartridge. I only print "NORMAL" if it is a very special print job or at the end of the cartridge with Draft prints light and I want to use the last of the ink. My older HP has a higher yield cartridge but I wanted a 3-in-1 unit - good luck.

However, I have been sorely disappointed as the 60xl made even fewer prints than the 60. HP cartridges cost too much for too little. I am contemplating purchasing a different printer for my class.

I only print black/white documents with the printer set on economy printing mode & the black cartridge does not print anywhere near the advertised pages. Another problem: a significant amount of color ink is also used while printing only black/white documents. I am completely disgusted with this product.

The were a few small pictures on some pages, I got greater performance with the cartridge I got with the printer. If this is the norm it is time to dump this printer and find a brand that performs better. Very disappointing, and it happened at night so I can't even finish my project.

Do yourself a favor and buy XL versions! The ink...besides being of superior quality...last much longer. The price is twice the price of the normal ink but lasts three times longer. It's a no brainer!

The 60XL is really a rip off considering the price as it does not give near the 600 copies for the price one has to pay. I used 56 and 57 on the last printer I had and both inks lasted as touted and even better. Copies were always clear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ink works great, when it works. WARRANTY NOTSOMUCH I bought two 60XL Cartridges last year. Both of which still had about two years of warranty left on them. I have used them off-and-on (probably not more than about 20 pages) since then. I notice the last time I printed that the black was almost non-existent on the copy. I instructed the printer to clean the print head - still bad, then I instructed it to clean the print head again -very slight improvement, I instructed it to clean again-black slightly better, color slightly worse. Clean using cotton swab. Instructed printer to clean heads again, black slightly better. Figured I should check on warranty. nothing on cartridge box, finally found a number online. Called HP. On hold for very long time - 40+ minutes, finally talked to someone who transferred me to someone else (offshore) who - after spending 5 minutes with me and said she was the wrong person - transferred me again ... I hung up in frustration. Based on this experience, I can only conclude that HP has intentionally made it very hard to process a warranty replacement.

The printer will not print with this condition. Then when I re-insert insert the used cartridge I want to replace, I do not get the message and the printer works fine. It is like a child coloring just slightly outside the lines, but enough to make the finished document hard to read. I thought my printer (years old) had probably expired and went to Staples to replace it but the replacement I liked did not have any ink in stock, due to COVID + China tarrifs so I decided to stick with this one.

The cartridges usually work OK although I have had problems with the colors from time to time, but the cost of a few drops of ink is just ridiculous and the waste of colors in a triple system is huge when one tends to run out so much faster than others. Seems like EPSON has the right idea. I like HP products generaly, but would love to see reasonable prices.

I did find a pool of black ink in the cartridge seat so in general my opinion is that HP printers are not of good quality, nor sturdy enough for my expectations. This is the 3rd HP printer I’ve had and I feel the same about all of them. As a bonus printer with laptop purchase its fine enough.

We considered future ink purchases as part of the decision. HP. printers often were not the best rated or best choices but we bought for the long term. No we pay full price for ink. Not Goid!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP 110 ink My HP 110 air printer is at least 9 years old & still works as well as the day we bought it, however Staples no longer carries the ink cartridges, I was getting them from Amazon but lately they’ve been filling the order with off-brand cartridges and the printer won’t take them. Finally my granddaughter said I should try getting it directly from HP (hmmm maybe that’s why we keep the younger generation around?) I was pleased with everything from the friendly website to receiving it quickly AND the price was less than Amazon’s. Very pleased
