This printer allowed me to try out fax from my phone… Which is awesome

The printer prints are not well colored and appear faded or washed out. Not the fault of the ink, but the printer. I use it for crafting and so it sort of works, but i've been disappointed. Still haven't figured out how to hook it up to my computer and that's a whole other story. Its OK if you don't really care about that stuff.

I tried everything suggested by the HP help functions online and through chat. I updated my printer driver, cleaned the cartridge and unit it snaps into, unplugged the printer, restarted it... nothing. They just don't work. :/

Manufacturer is unable, or unwilling, to provide a projected availability date, and only suggests to check back with the website daily until available. The HP Suppliers indicate HP is unable to provide more information. My recommendation is do not purchase HP printers until HP can and will ensure replacement cartridges will be available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CYAN CARTRIDGE DEFECTIVE we purchased 2 3-pack cyan/magenta/yellow cartridges and although the yellow and magenta worked fine, the cyan cartridgeS kept giving an "incompatible" message despite our best efforts to troubleshoot to get it to work. We opened the 2nd package and replaced 1st package defective cyan cartridge and still the incompatible error appears. We placed back into the printer our old cyan cartridge with the new yellow and magenta... all are compatible. The Cyan cartridges are defective. We need a replacement ASAP!

Error messages related to "incorrect cartridges" and other items that would not allow me to print. After much troubleshooting, cleaning and other items I found the cyan cartridge was the problem child of the trio. Had to buy a replacement cartridge (once it was back in stock) to be able to print color again. Still no way to get the cartridge replaced, whoever I talk with at HP transfers my call to an automated system that disconnects my call. Doesn't say much for customer service.

The cartridges are still unavailable and my color printer is now worthless. After spending two hours on the phone trying to reach an HP rep for assistance, I was told my primary solution would be to “purchase another HP printer!“ No thank you!!!

Used up half the ink in each color. Only the blue worked. I wrote asking for help twice and never got a response. After 2-3 weeks, it started working. Have no idea what happened.

My ink apparently was manufactured in a region where the firmware on my printer would not work with it. HP sent me a new printer because I was within warranty. They acted like they were doing me a favor. The ink I bought is opened and drying out. I had to go through the hassle of returning my old printer, the new one showed up in a wet box, had to reconfigure, and HP promised to send new ink and they never did. So now I’ve got all this ink I bought from them and it will dry out. According to HP this was all related to a firmware update but I needed a whole new printer. The new printer needed “setup ink” so my existing cartridges are likely going to be ruined. The worst part, HP sold me the ink and the printer and they never told me it wouldn’t work. I had to find out the hard way when I tried using the ink, and it’s not like as a consumer I can know ahead of time where the ink was stamped as manufacturing origin. HP was tough to deal with about everything. I’m sure if I was outside the warranty period they would have stuck me with the cost of buying a new printer at a “special discount.” The last 3 printers I’ve bought in the past 5 years from HP have all died after hardly any use. They owe me ink and keep sending me surveys like this. HP is terrible and they get what they deserve, would do 0 stars if possible.

Ink for the printer was not available anywhere, including at HP. I was able to replace the black ink, but the printer refused to print in grayscale without a full color ink set. Internet searches revealed that this is a widespread problem. Won't buy from HP again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A poor product for a poor printer... I bought a full CMYK set of cartridges around Christmastime, or early in January, from HP itself. Very quickly the Cyan stopped printing, followed by the M and Y cartridges these past few days -- this, despite showing as full or nearly so on the supplies display. This printer is not at all heavily used, and I've had it for only about 18 months. After trying various alignments and cleanings, I broke down and ordered another full set of cartridges this past week. Immediately the Cyan failed, and again cleanings and alignments, followed by a hard reset, accomplished nothing. The printer itself has been nothing but a headache -- it goes offline and won't connect with my computer (and no, the wifi in this room is not weak -- all other devices work flawlessly, as did a different printer in the same location for nearly five years. I have pretty well made up my mind to junk this printer and go for a Canon machine like the one my wife uses... think I'll do that this coming week.

With the help of HP, I purchased another HP printer that stated it would only work with HP ink. First off, the printer is not that great, and when I needed ink, which is often, I had trouble getting the ink from HP. I wanted the XL cartridges, but they were not available, so I was forced to buy standard cartridges which empty quickly. I was taken again by HP. Now I am looking to purchase a new laptop, and thought about the I7 17" version which lists for now, price increase, $899.99. It was discounted by $200, plus the 10% I get from my printer purchase, but the price is still $654.99. I think I should not pay more then $600.

They worked very well until my wife purchased a new HP laptop and tried to print something. The HP laptop detected the generic cartridges in the printer and shut it down. It did not work again until I purchased HP cartridges. Shame on HP.

The yellow and blue cartridges do work. I put back the old spent red cartridge which is accepted by the printer but has no ink left for color printing. I need two red replacements.

The new design with a yellow arm on the bottom didn’t fit well and was difficult to put in. Very frustrating. Took an hour to get new ink in and the yellow arm on the bottom fell off and then wouldn’t stay attached to the cartridge

I just use my printer for home use and I still spend over $200 a year on ink. That's ridiculous! And my printer will reject any other brand of ink. They have monopolized the ink industry and will charge you whatever they want. I wish I could find a solution to this dilemma, but so far NO LUCK!
