I loved my old printer As the display was much larger than this new printer. The 6255 constantly goes off line and I have to start up every time I want to print something. My old 7340 had a document feeder. As well and this one doesn’t.

I'm a little uncertain as to how the instant ink program works, but I just need to read up on it to determine if it's worth it with what little printing I do. This is my first wireless printer, and it's nice not to have all the wires hanging around getting tangled!

Printed and copied as soon as all the software was installed. Not very noisy. A friend has one, the photos were amazing, so hope this is the same for me. HP product is great so like me I only have to setup a unit every 4-5 yrs. so the other devices and changes or interpretations of too much safety cushion on low ink low paper tighten them up the hardware should be FREE the ink is the gouge and obviously the industry won’t share the profits of progress through reoccurring cost of operations

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP ENVY Photo 6255 PrinterI received the HP ENVY Photo printer as a free sample to test the product out and provide my review.PACKAGING: The printer came in an easy to open box with the printer secured within the box along with instructions, ink and power cord. After the printer was out of the box, the initial set up with removing the blue tab located on the printer. I felt the tape was easy to remove and had no issues following the instructions that contained helpful pictures. INK: There were two separate ink cartridges that were easy to remove from the packaging and load into the printer.START UP - After you install the ink, turn on the printer, it begins to calibrate and the display tells you to download the HP app from the app store. You can hit advance setup on the printer display but I chose to download the app.APP DOWNLOAD - The app download quickly and once open, it has many options to use. It was a little confusing on where to go within the app to set up the printer, but after looking around I was able to go to printer setting to continue set up. There are a lot of options within the app and over time, I think the app will be useful and easy to use.WIFI - After I set up the app, I had to continue on the printer and connect to my home WIFI network, this set up was very easy and connected within minutes.PRINTING - The printing of text comes out very clear and of high quality. When you put photo paper in, photos print in clear and crisp. It is easy to print from your phone through the app as well as a dedicated email you receive upon set up. By emailing to that address, you can print from virtually anywhere. That email can be shared with others for them to print to that printer as well. This could come in handy when taking photos and wanting to print instantly just by emailing to the HP printer. Overall this printer is very useful for anyone that needs to be able to copy, scan, print text and photos and print virtually! It is easy to set up and connect too. I did feel the HP app was a little confusing, but after a little time, it is easy to navigate once you become familiar with the different options.

The printer got an automatic software update and the printer went offline and nothing would get it back online until I unplugged it over night. Nothing told me that I had to unplug the printer to get it to finish the upgrade process.

Not only are the photo's easy to print but I can do so much adjusting of the photo prior to printing. It is also a great copier and scanner. But most of all it is so easy to understand and to use. I am a 72 yr old male and I would highly recommend the HP ENVY Photo 6255 All-in-One printer to anyone!!!

Easy set up, small size for his dorm and he (and his roommates) will appreciate the all-in-one features...they just don't realize it yet. I really wish I would have had one! Instead, we had to walk to the library or student center at all hours of the morning/ night for last minute cramming papers to be ready and look professional!

It was very easy and simple to setup, calibrate, and load ink cartridges.

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars (overall and performance) is I had to spend a considerable amount of time trying to figure out why it would not print cyan/blue. After MUCH searching it turns out the color ink cartridge that came with the printer (brand new out of the package) was defunct. So spending time to narrow the issue down to that and then having to buy a whole new color cartridge out-of-pocket kind of soured the purchasing experience. Still loving printer though.

An HP competitor's printer was put aside for as a Garage Sale item because it used 6 "expensive" ink cartridges; was much slower; and did not have "Auto Double Sided" printing. Thanks HP for a well designed Home User printer.

When I received the printer in the mail I was very excited to try it out. Once I opened the package I saw the sleek design of the printer and was very impressed, and couldn`t wait to use it. The initial set up was pretty easy, I did have a little trouble with connecting my phone with the printer, but once I figured it out, it was smooth sailing. Once I set it up and connected my phone wirelessly I was ready to start printing pictures right from my phone. The first picture I printed came out a little fuzzy so I tried printing another one, the other picture I printed came out much better and was ready to put in a frame. I also printed a few other items on plain paper, the quality on plain paper was excellent and very crisp. I like the over all appearance of the printer, set up was pretty self explanatory, and the quality of the photos was excellent. I do however wish it had bigger ink cartridges so you wouldn`t have to replace so often and I wish I could print different sized photos. Other than that I love the design, the quality, and the easy set up of this printer, would definitely recommend this printer to my family and friends.

I am an avid cell phone picture taker. I normally use this app on my iPhone that allows me to upload pictures on the company sends me the printed photos with in a week. This printer saves me so much money. It was easy to install to my HP desktop and the quality of the pictures were outstanding. I was unaware such a product exists. I am extremely happy with the product and plan to post on my social media page the results and the monies saved.

They seem to pop out of the slot and you cannot print when that happens. I did have difficulty inserting them initially, found that I was not pushing the cartridge in hard enough. It prints nicely now. The display screen is smaller than my previous printer and I do prefer the old display screen. Other than that - I think it is a very good printer.

It really should have been plug and play but I spent a good hour going through the troubleshooter, etc. I still cant get the printer to print on photo paper - it isn't recognizing this as an option. I'm not an expert on setting up printers but it certainly shouldn't take a couple hours of my day to get it going.

This product helps me a lot in that respect. In addition to its size, it was easy to set up; I had little trouble connecting it to my computer, and was able to print out letters and other items almost immediately. I recommend this product...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can’t do basic printingI suppose this printer is suitable if all you want to do is print photos. It is unable to print basic word or spreadsheets directly. If you want to print these you must first convert them to a pdf which I consider an annoyance.

I performed maintenance and cleaned the heads. It printed 2 or 3 sheets okay. Did not print in color. Replaced ink. Still not any better. Call technical.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP Envy Photo PrinterI received the HP photo printer and have struggled with set up. You need 8x11 white paper in order to calibrate the printer. Without the white paper it will not work. It does not say this in the directions. Once I had calibrated the printer it was easy to attach to my wifi and use. I did have problem rotating the picture to fit on the photo paper provided.

The new 6255 fit the bill perfectly and was an easy setup, which I definitely need. My wife and I don't use a printer a lot, but when we do we need it to work. This one seems to be doing just that perfectly.
