Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall processing speed is wonderful I just received my Z Book on Monday 12/9, so this review is a bit early. That said I am very happy with the boot speed, software loading process and network connection speed is very good. I engaged the facial recognition feature and that works very well too! As I have read some of the earlier reviews it sounded like the computer can have issues. I purchased an extending warranty as preventative protection should I experience the same problems. I hope that was not a ruse. In any event I do a lot of graphics work in the world of architecture and having a functioning tool is a must. The construction of the laptop appears solid and the keyboard is first rate. I have a Lenovo P series Thinkpad and the Z Book keyboard reminds of that computer - a very good thing. I have kept my computer purchases between HP and Lenovo. And HP has had the product others do not seem to be manufacturing or are not able to build. And they have been more creative in some of the advanced features like M drives. If you are considering a Surface Pro I would encourage you to see on of the Z Books in person. It is so much more than the Surface. The price of the Z Book was more competitive. As I use this unit and I have the opportunity to write a long term review I will do that. I think that will be the more illustrative information. I tend to keep and use computers for a long time in computer life cycles. I think this will be a long term kind of unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from overheating issues just after warranty Bought this for work a little over a year ago, a year later started getting fan error messages on boot. HP only offered a 1-year warranty on this model, at 4 months past a year it's finally cooked. Battery is swollen, circuit board is fried, am having to pay $500 to recover the data. Otherwise it's a $2500+ paperweight. Do not recommend - HP needs to figure out their overheating issue with this machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my needs. I have had my ZBook for about 3 weeks now. I previously used a Microsoft Surface Book. The ZBook is a few steps faster (my Book was 3 years old), and has a few options that are better than the Book as well. I am an architect, and do some graphic arts on the side. I take my computer to meetings, and we sign documents electronically. The features of the computer really fit into my niche. I was a little bit unsure about getting this computer just because my typical strategy is to research a lot and rely on good reviews, but that doesn't work really well with cutting edge computers in a really specific niche market. There just aren't that many reviews to sift through, and people tend to get high hopes and then complain really loudly if the computer doesn't perform. You only really hear from people when there's a complaint. But I felt really good about it, and took the plunge. So far, the computer does all of the things well that I didn't really like about the Book - it has great graphics capabilities, it runs AutoCAD and Revit (which are both pretty demanding applications) without a hitch. I use Affinity software for graphic arts, and all 3 of their applications work very well with the stylus. The Book had some struggles on some of the software I use, and would often overheat when I was in the middle of things. Another problem it had was that it was very inconsistent with external monitors. I have two external 4k displays, and I could never reliably get the stupid things to work. With the ZBook I can have two external 4k displays and the onboard 4k monitor all working at once - very nice! I had a lot of trouble with my Book overheating, and had to replace it several times under warranty for a bulging battery. I am crossing my fingers that this won't be a problem with this computer. It does seem to run a little hotter than would be comfortable if it were sitting on my lap, but with the CPU on the tablet itself, that's not an issue. Love the keyboard - it has a very nice feel! Love the stylus! Love the shortcut keys on the sides - I have one set to turn off the touch capability of the screen so I can draw with the stylus and not have palms or fingers interfering. Touching up some photos the other day was a breeze. One thing that I really love is the matte display - I hated the glossy display on my Book. The reflections were obnoxious. Couldn't work outside at all, and when I'm reviewing buildings I am usually outside. The matte display really cuts down on the glare. Very happy with my purchase so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance I was looking for a tablet that can handle multiple graphic programs at once and so far I am very happy with its performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Tablet for VMs This tablet was purchased to replace a SurfaceBook. It is much better for running VMs, and easily handles 2 Windows VMs at once. The quad core is worth the extra cost! This tablet is a little on the heavy side, but the performance is worth it! The buttons along the side of the screen tend to get in the way & I've found no practical use for them whatsoever. The stylus works very well, and has a right-click button. HP knocked it out of the park with this one!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too expensive to have this many problems... The motherboard failed, had to send it back. The screen is peeling off, they refused to fix that. The pen just stopped working...
