IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter

The IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter provides advanced, yet simplified remote system management for the IBM x 220. This adapter is part of IBM standards-based Universal Manageability solutions, designed to make everyday systems management tasks easier and more efficient throughout the life cycle of the server.

This option simplifies remote management by providing around-the-clock remote access of the

x 220. It supports:

- Remote management independent of the server status

- Full remote control of hardware and operating systems

- Easy-to-use Web-based management from standard Web browsers (no other software required)

This half-length, 32-bit PCI adapter contains:

- Serial port - supports system management function through a modem or null modem

- Ethernet port - enables system management function over your LAN

- Interconnect port - supports advanced system management interconnect to reduce modem,

telephone lines or modem-concentrating requirements

- Power connector and AC adapter allows the xSeries 220 to be connected to an external UPS or

power distribution unit
