I was in a hurry and bought a refurbished Dell that lasted 3 years. Now I'm back to another ThinkPad. A big reason I bought the first one, and returned to it is because I'm an environmental activist and Lenovo is a "green" company and the L series laptops are the greenest models.

The first one, which I bought in late 2019, performed so efficiently and rapidly that I decided to buy a second one in 2020. It is a fast, sleek and durable machine which I have recommended to many of my clients. It gets 5+ stars from me.

The thinness of the Lenovo is impressive given it's processing power and storage capacity. It's much easier and faster to get work and personal things done and I have more time to enjoy away from the computer. My only small complaint is that I often have to scan my fingerprint twice to open it up from locked status. I would highly recommend Lenovo Thinkpads as a go to for work/personal computing.

Honestly, I somewhat disappointed as it is already (in only 30 days having issues with keys not responding to touch as reliably as they once did. In addition, the availability of ports for USB drives, SD drives and other features for inputting data are not as many as previous versions of similar models. While these may seem minor, they are important to me and with the reliability of the equipment now in question, I'm seriously looking as using a different brand for the two units I plan to replace later this year.

The case feels sturdy (important when there are little ones about and the computer itself is blazingly fast. Had no issues installling MX Linux KDE. However, it lost one star because in order to dual boot with Windows (and thus not void my warranty) I had to search out a 3rd party piece of software to get it to boot MX from the hard drive.

Love the keyboard and the red mouse button in the middle of the keyboard. The left arrow key makes a different small sound when pressed repeatedly otherwise the computer is nice. Since I am no longer an active teacher, I had to return the laptop to my school. Upon my retirement, I purchased ANOTHER Lenovo laptop for my personal use. I'm someone who tends to have multiple programs/ windows open at once, and I haven't had any problems so far after two months. I have the laptop hooked up to a docking station and haven't really had it unplugged for long amounts of time, so can't really attest to the battery longevity (though seems to be just fine). Screen is large enough, though I also use two additional monitors. Even though it's hooked up to a docking station with a different keyboard, still love that it has the right number key pad. Things I wish it had: more USB ports (but again, docking station makes this ok); and memory card slot. The last item is a bit frustrating, but there's always a work around for that.

It's much lighter and has a much longer battery life than my previous laptop, and the memory is far greater, as is the speed at which it works. Most important for my personal use, it includes a number keypad and- the reason I was initially drawn to Lenovo- a Trackpoint mouse. However, the Trackpoint has started to suddenly stop for no apparent reason. I'm so disappointed with Lenovo; this machine is brand new, and this feature is the main reason I wanted it. I'm going to give it a bit longer of a trial period, but if the issue doesn't improve I hope to send it back for a different one.

The color temperature of the display panel is far too warm out of the box, but I imagine you can cool it down with some intel software; the lenovo software apparently does not allow you do do anything with the color temperature except for warming it even more. Apart from the color temperature, it's just a far inferior panel to what you might find on a better laptop. That said, for the price it seems to do its job. Just don't expect to do any color-sensitive work on this thing. The keyboard is great. I would expect that, AS LONG as you don't require a high-grade panel for photoshop or video editing, this thing is your best bet. It's upgradeable, repairable, and it seems just fine for clerical and general business applications. If you need something for video editing or artistic work, I'd recommend one of Lenovo's more expensive models. I did hear a bit of coil whine in a very quiet room, so I'm just hoping it doesn't become an issue.

It is lighter than my previous laptop - about 1/2 of a pound lighter, which doesn't sound like much. But it makes a huge difference when I have to haul it around when traveling! The keyboard on the computer is excellent - love typing on it, which I do a lot when I am writing reports. I was initially disappointed and concerned there was not an SD card slot for my camera downloads, but that was easily and inexpensively resolved by getting a USB converter, which works perfectly in the USB port, and gives me every possible type of input I need. I have not had a chance to really check out battery life yet, but expect it will be as good as or better than what I have had with my other laptops, and that is not as critical for me as the other things mentioned above. I powered up, linked into my company's Share Drive, and the setup was simple and fast. This was really wonderful, because I am not an IT whiz. Even as a non-geek, I can tell this computer is faster, the screen is crystal-clear. I am totally satisfied, and since I spend a lot of time using it, that's a big deal for me!

With it's full keyboard layout which includes the number pad, it saves you from getting an external number pad device. Although lighter machines are great, they come at a great disadvantage in the sense that they often are missing much needed things like Ethernet ports and additional USB ports. Lighter and thinner machines often require extra dongles or docking stations. Not this machine. This machine has basically everything you will need for tax professionals and the like. The screen is gorgeous and it isn't too heavy.

It never gave me a day's trouble until the battery died. So I bought a battery and it is back in action. I bought a new ThinkPad based on this experience. Work lent me a laptop while I was waiting for the battery for my old computer. Although it was an expensive machine, it was no comparison to my ThinkPad. My new ThinkPad will help me to keep up with the ever changing technology. I LOVE MY THINKPAD!!!

This one is slimmer than the one I bought to get me through Grad School and beyond, so its lighter weight and more portable. It's still rugged enough feeling that it stands up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little Biz Laptop The Lenovo ThinkPad was delivered on the date indicated during the purchase process, and set-up was easy! Helped me get back to work quickly as the previously 'blew up', literally. Battery fried the hard drive, and there was much year-end data to both restore and input. Great little machine - lightweight and easy to move from one desk to another workspace. The clarity of the screen is fab too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Business Laptop and Value Great business laptop. Has all that we need for standard day to day business applications. Like that it has a port for Lenovo Pro Mechanical Docking station. We have purchased numerous L15's and have not had any issues yet. Great value!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing choice for students! Bought this to replace my 5 year old laptop and customized it to match the specs requested for grad school. This is my first 15 inch laptop and it feels so much bigger than my sister's 14 inch. Arrived without delay! Am managing 6 hrs unplugged at normal brightness and internet usage. Very happy with the speed as it is faster than my previous laptop. The color out of the box was a bit dull but after color calibration and increasing saturation I am very satisfied. This is a great 15 inch option for students that need a laptop with a recent processor while staying in budget. I wish it was a bit lighter but that is a minor complaint given the performance for the price as an average student user.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mediocre laptop. Get one with a better processor. I like the Thinkpad brand so I decided to purchase this L15. It gets the job done, and looks nice, but is also somewhat disappointing. It does have some nice features, like a backlit keyboard, number pad, and a limited but suitable number of ports. I like the size of the screen and the slim, toned-down look of the laptop. It is light and compact, yet durable. Other nice features include a fingerprint reader and a simple privacy shutter for the camera. Now for the disappointing parts: the description on the website said the processor had a turbo boost of up to 4.2 GHZ, However, when put to the test, the computer could not handle being on a Google meet in presentation mode sharing a video. The sound and video lags or is choppy, and that is not good at all. As an educator working from home, I need a computer that can handle video calls and presenting media at the same time. At about $1000, I expected more from a Thinkpad. Also, I was hopeful about the sound because the computer came with Dolby software, but the speakers are cheap and tinny. I thought about returning it for a more powerful computer with better speakers, but there is a restocking fee I'd have to pay along with shipping, so I'll live with what I got.

The fingerprint scanner sometimes needs a second or third time to scan my finger but that's not a huge deal to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute Junk This is the THIRD replacement I received for my L15 - each unit I received had one thing or another wrong that rendered it unusable for work. The common denominator between all three units is inabilty to stay connected to WiFi. Constantly dropping signals, regardless of how close or far from my modem and router; every location I've used it; no rationale and while very helpful, no one at Lenovo could identify the problem. Meanwhile, I have a Dell as a back-up, using the same network and all the same variables and not once did I ever lose a connection. Lesson learned - Dell yes, Lenovo no. Save your money if you need consistent WiFi connectivity.
