It would help if Lenovo mentioned the Lenovo Migration Assistant as part of the setup information. I wasn't aware of its existence until I stumbled over it somewhere.

The only issue I had was a common issue when combined with the docking station we got Blue Screens of Death (BSOD. To fix this we had to revert back to the old USB NIC driver for that docking station.

BAD POINTS/DISAPPOINTMENTS: -- The number keys, such as Home, Delete, Insert, Page Up/Down, have been moved over, so it's not like the vast majority of keyboards. Home was always two keys above the number 7, but no longer is. -- I also had to go into BIOS to swap the Ctrl and Fn keys to make them like the vast majority of keyboards for the last 20-30 years. There is a specific switch in BIOS to do this, probably because many people want it. -- The built-in slider to cover the camera lens is almost useless, because it's so hard to see when it's closed. Not good human factors-design. GOOD POINTS -- Much faster and lighter than my 5 year-old Lenovo. -- The Page Up/Down keys next to arrows keys have little ridges on the keys to help find them without interrupting your work to find them. -- Left/Right click buttons north of the touchpad have ridges to help find them quickly. -- Red mouse pointer stick responds well. These characteristics are important to me because I do a lot of hand-movements by habit, without looking at the keys and searching. Overall I only give it a 4 out of 5 because I wish the keys were like the old standard layout and the camera cover is not really good. It these are not important to you, then just enjoy a reasonably fast and light laptop.

I've been thoroughly impressed with the performance of it after a week, and the keyboard is a joy to type on. Having the number pad on the 15" model is a must for me who uses excel often, inputting numbers on a daily basis. The only thing that is still bugging me is the ability to make minute adjustments with the trackpad. It seems to jump around ever so slightly, but this may just take some getting used to from my old Dell. The matte coating leaves more fingerprints and smudges than I was expecting too, but it's not something I've overly worked up about. Overall, everything is working as it's supposed to, and small features like the fingerprint reader or the webcam shutter have made certain functions easier and more secure than ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Laptop With Quirks This computer is quite a well performing computer for my professional needs. It's fast and has good ram/storage options. I quite like the nub in they keyboard; as it's able to act as a pseudo mouse. The keyboard is, imo, the best keyboard on any laptop out there. I got the touchscreen version which is plastic and not glass; it is a capacitive multi-touch that works out quite well (I prefer the plastic screen for weight, but idk about scratch resistance. The cpu works quite well and can boost up if needed; I wish it had more cores, but the quad core system doesn't get hot too fast and with the right side vent it helps vent out heat quite well and evenly. I looked into the SSD it comes with and it is a high end and fast SSD (near PCIe gen 4 speeds; near Samsung 970 Pro drive speeds). Overall I am quite happy with this computer so far and I believe that it will last quite a long time given general use of the system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from avoid if you intend to attach an external monitor Purchased to replace my Thinkpad W550s workstation, which has been an excellent workhorse for 4 years. Sole application is Solidworks 2020. Using the SW benchmark, the system tested approx twice as fast as the W550s in stand alone mode. Then I attached my 4K monitor to the Thunderbolt port. That cut performance to half the speed of the W550s, according to the SW benchmark. Customer support was completely unhelpful, deeming the problem a software problem, because I used the SW benchmark app to quantify the problem. They insisted I had to sign up for expensive, paid software support to resolve the issue. I felt it was clearly a hardware issue, because the only difference was I had plugged in the external monitor. The system appeared to stop using the nvidia GPU when the external monitor was attached. Final decision was to return the P15s and go back to my W550s. Very disappointing and a big waste of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice laptop! This laptop is very cool. I thought that this laptop would be thicker, but it is thinner that I anticipated, considering it has the ethernet port. The keys seem more durable. I have this laptop because it is similar to the work laptops I have at my job. Overall, I think the P series computers are great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sexy and professional P15 Thinkpad! This is an awesome laptop. Not only is it fast and efficient, but is is both sexy and professional in appearance. I love the 15 inch monitor and its clear display. The keyboard feels great on the fingers and is comfortable to use. My kids all had Thinkpads for college 6 years ago and they ate still running great!.

It could use one more usb port but I will likely add a docking station for that. it is not exactly a travel size laptop. so i recommend that if you travel a lot, you get a reduced screen size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from audio challenges great laptop but I'm still struggling to get audio working correctly. It works ok with my Jabra speaker/mic combo. But others - it "sees" them but no audio even though selected in sound settings, advanced, etc. Have not been able to get my Fifine microphone to work yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A little overkill, but a great value The contents of this bundle are all a great fit for my sales manager. High resolution, quality displays, a dock, and Lenovo's typical/great keyboard and mouse combo. Where it hits excess is the monitors function as port replicators themselves and you kind of don't need the dock, unless you also need ethernet, which the dock conveniently provides. I'm sad to see this bundle go, I was hoping to order more of them for the team!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect laptop! Just what I was looking for. This laptop is great for work, school, and fun! AutoCAD works wonderfully on it and I have no problems when running games. I did not think about the fact that I would want a touchscreen for my art projects, but I can easily connect a drawing pad to the screen instead. Amazing laptop for it's price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great laptop, easy to customize for future use I went with the 15" to get the keypad feature, which I use regularly for schoolwork. The P model allowed to an extra harddrive option and RAM to be added late. Delivery took about three weeks, but arrived faster than expected (I custom ordered leading up to the holidays). No issues with the laptop other than figuring out if I wanted to pay annually for Microsoft 365 or once for Office 2019...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unimpressed with design - not a modern laptop Unfortunately I find this Lenovo to be clunky, heavy and not what I was hoping for. What modern laptop has 2 USB ports? I bought it online during Black Friday to replace my 5 yr old Toshiba Satellite S55-C i7-5000 CPU @ 2.40GHz with 12 GB RAM - I looked at the computing stats, not ports, weight, etc. I have a "travel laptop" that's a Lenovo Yoga, which I really like. I guess I should have put two and two together - the ThinkPad is an IBM concept, not a modern Lenovo. I'm dreading making it my primary for CAD work :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Construction/BIM students I am a Construction Engineering student and I needed a major upgrade from my previous pc. I use Autodesk products on a near daily basis for my school competition team, especially Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD. Running these programs, especially with the addition of Zoom, would crash my previous pc. I did extensive research and I decided to put my faith in the Lenovo P15s with the Intel i7 processor and 16 GB RAM features. The difference was substantial in comparison to my older pc. I can run any of the Autodesk products simultaneously and render 3D models effectively all while never worrying about my pc crashing. I recently did a Zoom presentation with nearly 100 people streaming in, with Navisworks and Revit 2021 running and I encountered no issues, even while screensharing! I am very pleased with this product. Works like a machine should.

The hire didn't happen so I grabbed this machine for my daily driver. I swapped the SSD drive out and installed Ubuntu 20.04 on it without any issues. All of the peripherals seem to work with the the fresh install. Very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Machine I love my Lenovo P15s, it is light and powerful. Since the moment it arrived a started working with it. I installed zoom and started sharing screen while using illustrator and photoshop and it run smoothly. Although the camera is not that good, with a good lighting it can be used in meetings. The only thing i did not love were the speakers , they are not great , but with some headphones it is solved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly surprised Pleasantly surprised by the speed and ease of use of this laptop. It’s the ideal size for mobile work and entertainment. And the keyboard is incredibly smooth, each keystroke quite satisfying. I wish it didn’t have a flashing red light on the back where the logo is. And the jet black color makes it difficult to find the ports at night. But overall, this is a big step up from my Mac.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good computer with one very bad flaw The performance works, although it could be better. The video card is a little old and outdated, but overall, the performance has been fine with the hardware it has. My biggest problem is the magnetic sensor under the wrist pad below the keyboard. I use a watch band that has a magnet in it and every time I use the computer I have to take my watch off or the computer things the screen is closed and turns off. I ended up buying a docking station which helps when I'm at my desk but not when I travel. I've used Lenovo computers for years and never had this problem. It is very inconvenient to have to remove my watch every time I use the computer and seems like a huge oversite by Lenovo during use testing.
