Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for this general purpose monitorIt's hard to beat this general purpose monitor. The colors are vibrant, the resolution is high enough even for some the most modern PCs.The contrast is sharp enough for detail. I'd definitely buy this again.current use: MSOffice apps; web browsing, training videos and pictures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent general use monitorThis is an excellent value - an IPS monitor at a great price. What is IPS? It is a specific type of LED panel that gives you almost unlimited viewing angle without color shift. Most inexpensive monitors (using something called TN technolgy) will exhibit huge color shifts, especially if you change your vertical viewing angle (i.e. look at the screen while standing up, etc). The blacks will actually invert and turn to white. IPS completely eliminates this. Colors look true from any angle. This is important when doing graphics, but even when doing general office work, the IPS technology helps produce a better image. This LG monitor is really basic on the outside - the bezel is plain, the controls are plain (but they do the job), and the stand is plain. But you do get the IPS technology. The backlighting is very even. Brightness and contrast are good. Response time and color gamut are fine for general use. Black levels are excellent and much better than a TN type monitor. There is a "reader mode" that cuts the blue way back, and it does make a difference when reading text. Flicker and 'buzz' are not detectable to my eye - looks rock solid. If you do high end design work, you may want something with a larger color gamut. Other than that, this monitor is great for office work, general use, non-hardcore gaming, and even most graphic design work.
