Rated 5 out of 5 bychuckthegirl from Not a lasting, workable productGot this as a Christmas gift from my parents since the CD-ROM stopped working on my laptop and it was cheaper to get a portable DVD player than to fix my laptop. Started using in in February 2019 and it was GREAT! BUT then in July 2019, only 5 months later, it played a DVD to the middle of the movie then just froze. I could hear the DVD spinning inside but it wouldn't play. I let the player rest and tried the next day. Again, it froze. Took forever to get my DVD to eject. A month later it was working fine, then with another DVD it did the same it had before: played to the middle of a movie and then froze. I still haven't been able to get my DVD out.

But the information supplied is only for Windows products. It is Not user friendly for Apple products and I still can’t get “write” functionality to work. I often have to use the emergency open feature.

The computer will only recognize this as a generic storage device, not as a cd/dvd player (which is all we needed this for). I tried to install it on my Windows 10 machine and was, with a load of trouble, get it to work as a dvd player. Cannot figure out why it's not going on the Windows 7 machine, but so far I'm not impressed.

Plays DVD's great and no other issues. I would have liked to have the bundled software for my Mac also but the bundled software is for Windows only.
