The hope was to get through a couple months until the lab gets recabled. It has been over 4 months and they still work pretty well (A little slower but feasible). Just ordered a couple more for two more dead ports.Only con is the device itself is kinda big, like bigger than a normal usb stick so if in back the computer has to have space for it.

This adapter is in an industrial environment and handles heavy data transmission in heavily varying temperatures like a champ. I couldn't be happier with this product.
